I was prepared to dislike Ash and Koi, because all we (readers of Kiss me if you can) know of them is that they were terrible parents. But I ended up liking their younger selves. This reads like a typical romance novel with two very unlikely people falling in love with each other, separating due to each person's circumstances, and then ... more>>

reuniting years later.

I initially wanted to read this to know what happened to Juliet, and I was very surprised that

he was still alive, Dominic was still keeping him, and even married him. Both Dominic and Juliet die, presumably when Juliet finally succeeds unaliving himself through a fire.

Koi was always presumed to be a beta, although it was strange that he never transitioned even though during high school, he was

consistently exposed to heavy amounts of Ashley's pheromones after his presentation. Koi also could not sense any of Ash's pheromones, and this is because he had lost his sense of smell during an accident when he was young.

[collapse]

It wasn't very clear when it happened, but
Spoiler

Koi later presents as an extreme omega, though he doesn't recognize this until Angel (Keith's omega dad) recognizes him as the same kind and teaches him about his trait.

[collapse]

Although both Ash and Koi's high school versions grew on me a lot, at the end of the novel and especially during the side stories with the children, I disliked them immensely again.
Spoiler

We get a glimpse of Nathaniel who was taught by Ash to expel his pheromones through a pheromone party at 10 years old, a glimpse of Grayson (who presented as an extreme alpha at birth!) being slapped so hard by Ash after he fed Koi a homemade cake that had poisonous elements in the ingredients. We also get some scenes/events that appeared in Kiss me if you can, told from Koi's POV: Chase crying at the bottom of the staircase after being pushed, "helped" to go down the stairs by the twins, Chase crying after his bird dies, and Koi visiting Chase and trying to comfort him.

[collapse]

I initially thought that the reason for the children's temperament, aside from their extreme alpha nature, was Ashley's disciplinary methods, but
Spoiler

I think it is Koi's fault first and foremost, for forcing his wishes to have many children on Ash, who never really wanted more than 1 child. When Ash put his foot down in terms of disciplining the children after Koi is poisoned, Koi didn't have any backbone to protest or go against his wishes.

As told in Desire me if you can,
Spoiler

Ash used to punish Grayson when he was a child by locking him inside a dark panic room. In this novel, we learn that this was the method Dominic used to punish Ash.

My favorite character in this novel is Ariel, who was Ash and Koi's schoolmate, and also

Ash's ex-girlfriend, the cheerleader who lets Koi into the cheerleading club, and who eventually becomes Koi's best friend.

I hope someday Zig writes the story of how Josh met Ash and Koi and the rest of the Miller family, because in Desire me if you can
Spoiler

Josh has contact with both of Chase's parents.

5 stars. So I have read the complete novel on raws. And I quite enjoyed it. Though I was sceptical about it since this is from same author of kiss me liar but their others stories are good. The male lead genuinely likes the MC though he acts like a pe*vert sometimes on the later part of the story. The male lead likes to communicate clearly which is gem after reading so many novel with same old misunderstanding separation trope this one really hits the spot. So there aren't many... more>> huge misunderstanding between the characters. The highschool setting of this novel is well executed too. There's a time skip further ahead in the story. Overall this was fun read well written and enjoyable read. The smut is also really written and described since it's a Korean novel. <<less

Out of this series, this is the cutest, best one ever. The interactions are really adorable and it shows that even in omegaverse can consent exist.

Spoiler

This is the prequel of the main series. Lore Wise, It goes with Eat me up if you can and that one is traumatising and you read once and never again, then this one which is so cute. Then after this is every other book I believe. The ML is absolute gold, and MC is so supportive. This book has the best character designs yet. In The Eat me one, both MC and ML were unlikable but the author went way too far. With the Kiss Me, Liar, the most popular one, the ML was unlikable but the revenge was gold. The Kiss Me If You Can, MC and ML were iconic, and Desire Me if You Can is literally Kiss Me If You Can with different characters.

So worth reading if you love cute relationships. Ive read this 4 times alr <<less

My main language is not English, but I hope you understand my review.

I ended up finishing the story on another website (although I didn't read the extras, so what I'm going to say next may have been softened or improved by the author) and I can only say that the ending ends up being a bit regrettable. Even when Ash and Koi are together, they will end their lives tied to the bonds of the past, traumas and unresolved problems. Don't expect a healthy ending, at least I didn't consider... more>> it as such. Koi's love for Ash is visible, but it's also full of dependence and guilt. Ash becomes increasingly psychotic and distorted and will use Koi's mentality to keep Koi with him in the end. There's a lot of dog blood and not enough dog food, a lot of conflicts happening, a feeling that the characters don't resolve things despite discussing it, something happens and the feeling is that the author is going to leave it at that.

Spoiler

I thought it would take 10 years for them to meet again was a bit absurd considering that Koi abandoned Ash to take care of his father who got sick but apparently died a few months after the two separated. When I read a review saying that all this time had passed, I imagined that at least Koi would be sorting out his own life in the meantime, following his own dreams, studying, being more confident in himself and trying to improve the difficult life he had so that he could meet Ash again on the other side of the country, but he doesn't change anything, he doesn't move forward, he seems stuck in regrets and expectations that the person he left behind will continue to be the same young man he was before. Ash has evolved into an obsessive love and holds a grudge against Koi for not being chosen. I understand that he has psychological traumas caused by two shitty parents, but Koi also has family problems, in addition to the guilt he felt for his own family's accident. In my opinion, Koi chose his father for this reason. Ash was always aware of Koi's problems, unlike Koi, who never knew about the traumas caused by Ash's father because he never told him. Not that I agree with Koi's choice, but I think Ash lacked rationality. In the end, the two end up together, but...

[collapse]

Anyway, I waited a few years to finish this story. It's a shame that the ending left a bitter taste. <<less
