It's very badly written, somehow it's even less interesting then solo-leveling despite having almost the exact story beats (I'm talking about the novel solo-leveling not the manhwa). 5 chapters in and the author's already trying to hook the MC up with an underage girl and he's trying REALLY hard to the point of it being weird.

The way the MC gains power is also really weird, it's absurdly easy for him to gain more skills so these skill should take longer to level up at least right? Nope dude literally "tries... more>> really hard" and learns Rank F Heal then read 2 ordinary medical books and level it up to rank C. Some skills he learns also randomly starts at the max rank M as well for some reason.

The power hierarchy is also badly structured, the first monster he faces that almost killed an entire party of hunters is level 2, he killed it with an insta-kill skill. A few chapters later the MC levels up to 5 just by doing kill assists on supposedly weaker monsters.

You can try really hard to make an argument for the MC being interesting but that's as far as it can go everything else is just doesn't make any sense. It's one of those turn your brain off and it's alright kind of story but with the new point system on this wuxia website? Lol no thanks 1/5 <<less

First, I'd like to start by saying that the one star review posted back in 2023 is incorrect on many points like the MC getting with someone underaged and is a typical example of someone writing a review too early based on assumptions.

The novel started out good, I'd say I really enjoyed it up through at least chapter 380ish. The novel shares a lot of similarities with Solo Leveling, both being Korean novels about a character who can level up while everyone else is stuck at the same strength once... more>> they "awaken" and who fights against monsters that come from dimensional rifts. The plot does eventually stop seeming like a copy/paste of Solo Leveling and the MC in my opinion is more likeable than the one from Solo Leveling (at least for the first half of the story).

Unfortunately, like many other light novels, the quality started going way downhill a little over halfway through the series. The MC suddenly lost the ability to think things through, antagonists started running away mid-fight and returning frequently like cartoon villains, large plot holes started appearing, etc. Seriously, I honestly can't believe the number of dropped plot threads that are just never addressed and it drives me crazy. Not to mention the MC was a decently likeable character up until that point but turned into a lazy selfish as*hole that acts like they're 15 instead of the 30 years old they're supposed to be. On top of this, large parts of the novel are dedicated to bashing Japan, China, and the Korean government/corporations which gets old. The ending also feels incredibly rushed with no followup on what happens after the big bad is defeated. Finally, and this is just one of my personal pet peeves, but the novel spends a lot of time with the MC simping over various girls but constantly putting off actually getting with any of them due to it "not being the right time" or whatever other BS the author decides to invent, and ends with the MC not actually getting with anyone (I think, I skimmed the last 50ish chapters due to boredom and frustration) which makes me wonder why any of the "romance plot" was included at all.

I'd recommend against reading the novel as it's quite long and fools you into thinking it's going somewhere good only to end in massive disappointment and wasted time. <<less

I'm enjoying it a lot. I disagree with the previous review. If you are avid at comparing novels, then this might not be for you, but it definitely is a nice read if you have an open mindset. I have chosen to wait for more chapters to be released before reading further chapters.
