On Qin Qingzhuo’s twenty-ninth birthday, his friends in the circle organized a small birthday party for him. Outside the window, the sound of rain was pattering. Someone raised a glass to offer their blessings, expressing the hope that Teacher Qin would encounter a passionate and lasting romance before turning thirty.

Someone nearby added, jokingly suggesting it would be best if he were liked by a handsome young man—eighteen would be too young, but nineteen would be just right. This playful remark elicited laughter from everyone present.

As glasses clinked and red wine flowed, Qin Qingzhuo, in a slightly intoxicated state, found himself thinking about a pair of eyes. He wondered if there really was such a young man.

Meanwhile, that young man was eagerly awaiting his response, hoping to meet him on this rainy night.

The background involves a variety show featuring a band, with a mix of a rebellious and sharp musician as the gong and a gentle and mature mentor as the shou.

Younger gong, 10 years of age gap.

Qin Qing Zhuo (MC) was invited to a band competition variety show as a stand in teacher. A band who got kicked out of the competition was then replaced by another band, Asperitas (糙面云). The 19 year old lead singer/guitarist Jiang Ji (ML) had a great voice and talent but a nonchalent attitude towards everything.

I started off disliking the ML a lot because of his rude attitude and the way he wanted to threaten MC at first. MC was a great person and believed... more>> that ML could do better so he approached ML and started to learn more about him. Throughout these, I love his mature way of treating ML. He is someone with high EQ and is a very gentle person. ML also from then on soften his attitude towards MC, and even grew to treat MC with care. I LOVE the straight forward and honest love declaration. It's not easy to be so open and not leave a leeway for yourself when you do love declaration.

Tan Shi was awesome at crafting those romantic and also the pains of love atmosphere very well. Heck I cried a whole lot in the middle. That sourness in my heart made me feel so painful.

The smut was not explicit but it was so cleverly written with the MC recalling what happened. Super spicy and they're almost making out every other day lol. The mutual salvation was touching and the ending was good and wholesome. I love how we could see mentions of characters from her other books appearing in here. <<less

It was a sad yet beautiful love story between jiang ji (ml) and qin qingzhuo (mc)

I loved jiang ji' character, he has such a complex and beautiful personality, he is decisive, straight forward, doesn't like to evade his problems but at the same time due to his past experiences (I couldn't stop crying for both jiang ji and qin qingzhuo) he has developed a th**ny personality with a soft heart

At the start, maybe you will not like him because it looked like he had no bottom line but... more>> I will advise you to continue reading the novel, gradually you will start to love him

Because as the story progresses it will feel like we are peeling of layer by layer of his defence to see what his core personality actually looks like, and understand the choices he made, why he made them. (Many forget that he is actually only 19 years old) you will have to believe in him.

He is actually very patient towards MC, he (ml) will do anything for him (mc). He is such a cinnamon roll!! At the end

When he recorded songs for qingzhuo after their fight for three days, he asked for opinions from his (mc) friends, doctor and psychologist In how to handle the mc's psychological fear, how to once again make him sing.

y'all.. If you like an age gap with proper understanding along with struggles and genuine deep background story with complex characters READ THIS

the development is great the main characters both have INCREDIBLE chemistry and the ML is a** at first omg but as the story unfolds you'll love him like I did

I'm feeling numb.......... Usually I don't like much of modern novel. Not all novels catch my liking. But recently in my danime group someone talked about this novel. I had it on my self for a while now but after that post I don't know why but I got interested. AND NOW I'VE TO THANK SINCERELY THE SIS WHO POSTED THAT. It was my best decision ever.

This book is the type, that will make your heart clench to the point of suffocate. I cried my heart out but my... more>> eyes remained dry. But this book definitely taught me that " Patience & communication is the moral point of love" it can solve any thing. It also shows the perfect harmony of older & younger lover. It's just annoying how not only in fiction but reality, the older one will always treat you like a child. No matter if you're technically adult or not. Like... give your lover a chance than making a blind decision all by yourself. haaa

However the songs....... I really loved it. It felt like I can hear their voices together along feel their lovely gaze to each other.

This novel left a unforgettable mark in my heart. The love & gentleness I felt from reading it is beyond any words.

Though sometimes Qin Qingzhu's behavior doesn't make sence, the way Jiang Ji secured him is beautiful. I'm really upset the way that so called adult one snatched & killed the childs love like that. His words truly hurt like hell.....

But reading this novel was the best choice of mine. Such a understanding and patience is rare in love. <<less

I didn't have a strong first impression of the story because the writing and characterization in the first few chapters felt a bit flat for my liking.

The novel, however, left an impactful last impression on me.

... more>> At first, I thought MC was too kind and accepting of others' offensive remarks and actions toward him. But in truth, he's actually very firm on his boundaries, and once his bottom line gets crossed, he most definitely won't let the offender back into his life.

I thought MC would be a simple character with a simple backstory, but it turns out he's multifaceted especially in his pain.

He persistently endures, and it fascinates me how he manages to be both strong-willed and kind, appearing unfazed by the admiration and hatred of others, yet keeping himself caged in a fragility that ultimately led to him never singing again despite it once being his lifeline. MC only started singing again after ML helped him face his psychological barrier.

ML was a rude mf initially (honestly, I even wanted to punch him), but he redeemed himself so well that he became a standard himself. How he handled MC's pain was so thoughtful and patient. He made MC feel so cherished and despite MC's cutting words to him, ML remained gentle and never retorted on hurting MC back. He helped MC heal from his psychological barrier because he wanted MC to continue doing what he's loved doing ever since he was young, which is singing.

I love how the author created MC's flawed and multifaceted character and I love how ML loves him in spite and because of it.

It was a mistake on my part to think the writing was flat after only reading the first few chapters; now, I find that the novel is romantic, and the scenes hold a distinct poeticism in both atmosphere and prose.

The author wrote the story beautifully, and the translator made sure it was translated as such. <<less

10/10 an absolute masterpiece. I've never encountered a story with such natural character growth, how the MC and ML gradually come together to support one another is so beautiful. It's a slow burn, but I didn't feel frustrated in the slightest because their relationship is always moving forward. We can continuously see the development and it's so satisfying.

A lot of the time novels will add past trauma to characters that feels more like an after thought to evoke pity. But in this novel, the way the past trauma affects each... more>> of the characters and how it affects their thought process and interaction with the world, is so masterfully done.

In the beginning the ML is truly an indifferent rude little prick, and the MC comes across as having an evasive, yet cunning personality, always keeping everyone at arms length. The ML can be frustrating at first, to be fair he's only 19yo and at times it's impossible to imagine them together, especially in the beginning but PLEASE do not give up. Keep reading. His shitty personality is just the starting point, watching him slowly open up and relearn emotions is what made me love this novel so much.

The ML is the first to learn from MC, we see his negative view on the world slowly begin shift and his prickly exterior slowly begin to soften. While this is happening, ML who is normally indifferent to everything, becomes intrigued by someone for the first time. He's never cared about others, he couldn't due to his personal circumstances. He just didn't have the bandwidth to care for others. So he finds himself intrigued by his curiosity of another person for the first time. His curiosity pushes him to gradually become closer to MC.

From here he begins to notice how the MC isn't this perfect person. He begins to realize that MC has been living in a constant state of depression, but MC uses his evasive nature to help him cope. Towards the middle/later half of the story it's the ML who begins to help shift MC's view on the world, he helps him face his own trauma. Even though they are quite different, they are also the perfect person to help the other.

It's truly so beautiful. I can't stress enough just how much I love this story. The translation is SO well done. Can't wait to reread this even though I just finished it lol <<less

6/5. 6th star to represent how gosh darn much I enjoyed myself.

A captivating sour read with sweet HE. I wanted to finish in one sitting, it flows so well. One of the themes is about dignity. I like how this is an Entertainment story but ML doesn't care about being a celebrity. I really diss the stories which value chat sentiments so much.

The main part takes place before MC turns 29yo (so synopsis somewhat misleading).

Not a lot of laughs, there is very densely packed emotions. MC (28yo), ML (19yo). ML... more>> has endured so much tragedy. Jiang Bei (8yo) becomes a really good sister.

What a beatiful story. I didn't know there is this many type of clouds in the world. And every clouds has name too. Asperatus. You van search it. Beautiful cloud indeed. Scary yet gorgeous. Loved this detail. My favourtite day is always was cloudy day. If you like it clouds and rain. Congrats! Now think about rain add some cloud and your loved one running together in summer day. That's how this novel feels like. When I was young, my sister actually asked by her number in rainy day. They... more>> were so silly. In full of raint night that boy asked " what is your numberrr??" My sister didn't catch it up lol. And boy took her hand and asked again. My sister said her number so quickly. Like an eminem. The boy was like okay! I will call you.... I laughed so hard when we got home. But now thinking about it. She got so much luck in love... but I dont... guys:,) such a cute lovable story she has. And this novel reminds me that innocent yet sad yet beautiful love story. I really wish you feel that love by reading this novel too. Hope you can find that kind of love in real life too♥. MC and ml's love story will start slow. If you are like me who can't wait you can skip few chapter kkk. But I regret it so hard. Eng is bad. Sorry...

our ML is young and ride motorcycle. He is a bad boy as you can see ehehe. He doesn't care anyone at all except her young sis0. About MC. He got accident when he was singer. Left his concer mid way. And got car accident. But before that he got ear injury. Can't hear it can't sing it. Thats why he left the concert. It took a while to ML know that shit. MC looks at his lips when his hearing is not working. So sad. Such a detail such a writing. Loved it. They got ups and downs. their love story actually begin chapter 30 I think. ML got crush on our MC. He will only look at him. So sad yet beautiful. And every little detail is so cute. MC got cheating ex. When ML knows that he hates it almost punching him punched him? ? And when mc' health got worse when people attacking him online about leaving competition because of his hearing. He actually hide it somewhere. So our ML can't find him. But cheating ex know here MC is. Find him and send him to hospital. Our ML find it. Almost got crazy. ~~ and he actually rode his motocycle and jumped in front of their driving car. MC got soooooo scared. ML got scared by MC yelling at him... My heart so hurted by that chapter. Cried a lot. Read it guys. You will love it. Wish my eng knowledge was netter than this. Want to write so many things. Yet my word and grammar is like mc's cheating bf ahaha ;)

Just beautiful. It's been a long time since I've finished a novel and felt so empty😭 The main characters have my whole heart.

Jiang Ji's character development was amazing. The way he comes to love Qin Qingzhuo will keep you hooked. And Qin Qingzhuo's maturity and gentleness- no words for it. The storyline was simple yet indulging.

A 5/5 read, would definitely read again.

ML was a complete s*umbag in the beginning, like you have to hurt a stranger who was nice to you for what reason?

This story is for both MC and ML to heal each other through emotional entanglements and support.

The age difference means nothing when everybody in the novel don't find it strange at all? Besides MC have some comprehensions.

very fast read most of the time 1v1 MC and ML emotional drama. Not alot of really Music heavy focus to be honest.
