The MC in this novel is extremely unlikeable miserable being. She is constantly misunderstands and makes the worst assumptions about the FL. Just when they start getting lovey-dovey, oh no, let's introduce a plot device such that our s*upid MC can "realize" that the FL is a garbage person and she (MC) should not waste time on her, even though she (MC) is deeply in love with her. And this routine repeats like five times throughout the novel, wtf?! Also, the way our MC pushes FL away is very unkind,... more>> she basically tells her to fk off in not so many words. Reader is supposed to like this MC because she is a good girl deep inside.

Another cheap trick to introduce drama is to make characters have hurtful family relationship since childhood. Every time a family mentioned is to introduce childhood traumas.

Why would I read this dog drama, you ask? Because the FL is lovely, charismatic, humorous, smart and brave. But for some bizarre reason author decided to torture her by making her fall in love with such shitty MC. She relentlessly pursues the MC trying to tear down the walls of self pity that MC built around her. Each time MC tells her to fk off, I was like "great, find somebody else". Unfortunately FL is too good, and after some time she regroups and starts pursue once again.

I thought, okay, maybe after some time MC will stop being a complete wuss and shows a backbone. LoL was I naive, to the very end of the novel it was all down to FL to fix the relationship.

Author probably thinks that good romance does not require two active participants.

P.S. Please somebody write a sequel where FL finally dumps MC. <<less

What can I say? I'm a simple woman, I liked it (ToT). It's from the same author as Long Awaited Feelings so you can expect the characters to have some misunderstandings and be a tearjerker (final chapters might make you feel hearbroken, other than that its happy). Won't complain about the characters personalities cuz 1) it's a novel, they're written like that on purpose and 2) I've met quite a lot of couples that act the same way Jinshu and Wanji did, theres no love manual to start or end... more>> a relationship perfectly, love is complex and human hearts and mind are fragile. You may despise how they both handled their relationship but you never know if you'll do the same mistakes in the spur of the moment. If you don't like push and pull dynamics, misunderstandings, rich family issues, then this may not be for you. Its a short HE story. If you decide to give it a try, don't come back and give negative reviews since you've been warned.

You have Wanji: adopted eldest daughter, has to live up to her dad's expectations so she decides to be a teacher, "mom" doesn't like her and doesn't hide her disdain, sister that truly loves and admires her. She's not naive, not "weak", not patient, but she knows "her place" and knows there's no point in going against their wishes so she complies to whatever her dad says. She's not being stepped on by them for being adopted, she just restrains herself and knows that some things are not rightfully hers. Closeted lesbian but when in love, she falls completely. Jinshu: carefree, playful yet does her job perfectly, likes to live in the moment, not everything will last forever. This causes at least 3 misunderstandings causing Wanji to turn cold. I liked that she was very resolute. Are you playing with me? Do you not like me? Ok, let's break up, lets not waste time. Jinshu also did f*ck up by just accepting whatever Wanji said, but that happens since she also knows how Wanji's character is like, she doesn't make decisions in a rush. <<less
