Recently, a special correspondent conducted an exclusive interview with Pei Qian, President of Tengda Group.

Tengda Group, now valued at hundreds of billions, operates across various sectors such as gaming, internet services, digital hardware, cultural media, and restaurants, significantly impacting numerous aspects of daily life.

Pei Qian himself is widely regarded as the “World’s Best Boss,” an unparalleled investment genius, and a brilliant game developer. He is known for his effortless leadership style and keen ability to precisely forecast industry trends.

However, during the interview, Pei Qian expressed deep frustration:

“I’m truly not some kind of business genius!”

“My success is entirely due to luck!”

“My initial goal was merely to lose fifty thousand yuan…”

See? This is exactly how a genuine business genius maintains humility and modesty.

First off, I don't recommend binge-reading this as it can become incredibly tedious. I'd suggest reading it a bit at a time or tackling one arc at a time instead.

That said, I really enjoyed seeing the MC try to lose money only to keep gaining more. There are moments when he actually manages to go into the negatives, but more often than not, he ends up with a profit. I also learned a lot while reading this, such as details about gyms, takeout places, e-sports, and more.

As for the plot,... more>> it's repetitive, but not in a negative way. The MC's main goal is to lose money each month, so every month, he comes up with a new approach, whether it's creating games, launching businesses, making movies, etc. Each time, he finds different ways to lose money. While the financial outcomes mostly feel predictable, the variety of methods keeps things interesting. Side note: I admire how knowledgeable the author is. By the time I reached Chapter 949, the MC had a wide range of businesses, and the level of detail in the explanations was impressive. I'm constantly amazed by the depth of insight the author brings.

Now, onto the characters. There are quite a few, and due to my ADHD, I tend to forget most of the cast in a web novel if there are many characters, unless they really stand out. However, from what I remember, they all felt realistic enough. They're moderately developed characters, meaning they're relatable and consistent, but not very complex. This is likely because there hasn't been enough focus on them to fully develop their personalities.

All in all, I'd give this a 5/5. <<less

It's so fun! I couldn't read it in one go so I read it in between some other frequently updated novels and it was super fun to comeback regularly and see the misunderstandings (it made them fresh and funny). The MC is super lucky and often frustrated because of it 😂 it's hilarious. I like that the characters even if forgotten for a while are never disposed of and always ready to make trouble for our protagonist xd.

The way the novel is structured is pretty clever. It keeps the story pretty light hearted, and lowers the stakes enough for the MC to fail without massive consequences. I find it pretty refreshing to see a character fail, and later try not to repeat the mistakes that led to failure. However that also means there is less tension, because while the MC is very motivated there isn't a lot of suspense for the reader because of the lack of consequences. It works pretty well for the light hearted comedy... more>> it is, but doesn't give it much room to expand outside the genre.

Now this wont be a positive for everyone, so if your a fan of edgy mu*der-hobos this probably isn't for you. But another thing I like is that the novel has an optimistic view of society, instead of the world where everyone is a s*umbag and society is riddled with corruption that seems to be pretty common in Chinese novels. This book has a setting where many people have a good nature, and as soon as they're given an opportunity they can become great. This also extends to the MC who takes a stance against some scummy business practices even when it hurts his interests. I'm not trying to make him out as a goody two shoes here though, because he isn't. He doesn't go out of his way to stomp out corruption or anything, but if he comes across something, and is in the position to do something about it, he's willing to take a bit of a hit to do it.

One last thing to note is that the ending was pretty rushed, so it dropped a few plot threads. It also was pretty heavy handed with the theming toward the end while it was rushing to get everything lined up for the end. But overall its a pretty solid comedy. <<less

Story is about a boy who is trying lose money to get money. But he could not lose the money due to some system bullshitery. Those who love OVERPOWERED MC might love this novel. BUT the novel is too long. Its been 3 days and still I am at chapter 304 and that is only due to me skiping some chapters while I feel too lazy to read..

Still I like it because I love overpowered lucky young MC and even liked the Manhua.

surprisingly good and funny. The only problem I see is that except for the MC everyone else is his die-hard fans or to be fans and everyone wants to help the MC succeed and always beautify the Mc's intentions and deeds. Usually long comedic creations need a variety of characters but for now most characters seems similar to me and I don't see any rivals, anti-fans or sane characters who can see things as they are without beautifying glasses. This might not actually be a problem in a short term... more>> but I don't know about later.

edit: I started to get bored and skip chapters <<less

Finished the novel. This novel is quite a refreshing read away from all the other hot blooded novels and I really recommend it. It has a certain charm to it. However it can get somewhat exhausting after sometime of reading but it always makes me come back to it.

Simple novel that you can read to pass your time. My only issue with it is that as a wish fulfilling novel, it doesn't hit the right spots. What I mean by that is the MC lacks badass moments and every time he earns money he has depressing monologues to himself. There should've been more rich president moments if you know what I mean.

There are parts of this that are definitely repetitive, but for some reason I still find it fun to read. Obviously it requires suspension of disbelief. But I love the different misunderstandings, and the different ways that the MC and his subordinates and other accidentally mess up all the MC's plans, to the great success of the MC's company.

The MC and others always have funny shocked reactions, and the different ways everyone always finds explanations for the MC's intentions are always hilariously Big Brain.

It's an easy story to pick up... more>> and put down, and it updates very quickly. It doesn't require too many brain cells, and there is no annoying romance or harem. It's basically a funny, light-hearted story that always puts me in a good mood when I read it. <<less

I simply love it.

I'm kind of addicted to this novel and every day look it up to see whether there are new chapters - for me this is a first. After catching up to the latest chapter, I usually let novels I read ferment for a while and then binge them in one sitting, but here it's impossible for me. Maybe it's because of cliffhangers, maybe it's because of the comedy or maybe it's because of uniqueness? I have no clue, but whatever it is, it charmed me to the... more>> extent of low-key addiction.

So maybe don't read this novel? I can't tell whether I should recommend it sincerely or warn any potential reader about the risks...

Edit:

I agree with other reviewers about the thoughtful message at the end. It's really nice to read something that actually has some ideas it wants to show to the readers.

A little disclaimer though: although it is very restrained, there are rarely some nationalistic views. If a China-Western conflict is depicted, just look it up. The "Westerners" aren't at fault in some matters. <<less

Please note, my review is based on my perception of this novel up to chapter 129, at which point I switching to reading it more intermittently / casually. My main complaint is that this novel is incredibly repetitive hence the loss of interest.

Looking at the other reviews, other readers still seem to be enjoying the novel even into chapter 1, 000. So I'm not sure if it gets better or if other reviewers are just masochists.

Anyway this novel is similar to 'I really am a superstar' where the MC is... more>> transported into a similar parallel world with a different arts, entertainment and business scene.

the MC has a system which helps him to run a business and rewards him slightly for earning money, and rewards him greatly for losing it.

These perverse incentives inspire MC to do whatever it takes to invest in loss making projects, the MC will have a zany idea to try and lose money, his employees try to scrutinise and rationalise his behavior, his project for some reason or another will go on to be a smashing hit, MC's company makes a tonne of money, but the MC himself earns very little personally due to system rules. So the MC decides to double down, in an attempt to lose it once more. Basically Rinse and repeat this, ad infitum.

On other notes; the translation quality is excellent, the Supporting characters are interesting enough and MC has a pretty decent personality and dark sense of humour.

In summary this is a decent 4 star novel, only reason it loses a star is due to its repetitive nature. Overall I recommend you give it a go. <<less
