I got scammed out of the security deposit I worked so hard to save.

The landlord and the real estate agent vanished, and the police don’t care.

I’m a Beta, so it would be okay for me to be homeless, but Kwon Yuwon, my only friend from the orphanage, is an Omega and can’t do that.

“I’ll only do this until I save up for the deposit. At the very least, we need a place to sleep.”

I’ve lived my life without shame, but suddenly, what’s this talk about drug delivery?

To make things worse, at the club I visited for the first time, I ran into a terrifyingly handsome man—so terrifying because of his looks.

“This is really my first time! I won’t come back again. I swear I won’t. Please, just let me go.”

“If you mess around in someone else’s business one more time, I’ll have a drum ready next time. If you don’t want cement in your stomach, you’d better behave.”

As I was threatened, and as I had resolved, I didn’t even dare glance in that direction and simply came to deliver to the next district, but…

“It seems you need to learn how scary the world can be…”

Surprisingly cute. For a smut omegaverse it wasn't as bad as I expected. Not sure why there is a r*pe tag though. There were so many instances where I thought "oh is this where the r*pe comes in?", but it never happens, which again is really surprising. The ML was obviously obsessed with the MC so each time the MC ... more>>
Spoiler

threatened to leave, I thought this is where the ML locks him up and assaults him but he didn't assault him just locked in up but quite lovingly too if being restrained can be loving. But when you consider in terms of whats normal for not only a smut but a smut omegaverse it was quite tame

[collapse]

At some points I got really frustrated with the MC's naivety but it wasn't to the point where I felt like I needed to drop this. The ML wasn't exactly the typical ML but he also wasn't far off from the caricature. He was cold but also extremely warm and good to the MC. He wasn't overbearing but doted on the MC.

The side characters were good for the role they played in moving the plot forward. I must say I'm really interested in the story of his brother. The way he was sort of shrouded in mystery leads me to believe the author has plans for his story.

Overall a good read. Wished we got a pregnancy arc but oh well <<less

I started this on a whim wanting to read something with a possessive love interest, and this ticked all the boxes, even those I didn't even know I had piled up. Reading this was very satisfying for me personally because it was exactly what I had wanted to read, normally it takes me a while to get to something that kinda sorta fulfils my needs but this novel was so perfect that I'm still in awe.

The last chapter was so emotional and so perfect. I wish it were longer to... more>> tie up some of the loose ends
Spoiler

such as the conception dream and what happens to every side character esp the MLs pig bastard father

[collapse]
but even without that it's perfect.

I can't say much about the darker aspects, because again, they were exactly what I was looking for (if thats what you're looking for too then this is perfect) but I do wish there was slightly more groveling on the MLs side. I still can't find much to fault him for because
Spoiler

r*pe (i found it more to be very-rough-slightly-dubcon rather than full on r*pe but... once again... that was exactly what I wanted lmao) and confinement and general thickheadedness aside

[collapse]
the ML is one of the better dark romance leads because usually I have found them to be led by their egos and desire to conquer rather than any genuine affection for their partners. While on one hand yes he was HELLA possessive, he still did most things everything in the MCs best interest (and his own) and you could feel how much he loved the MC and how badly he had fallen for him.

I found the MC to be very loveable from the start. I think he was a perfectly balanced character with the maturity and naivete that someone of his age group (I'm guessing early to mid 20s) would have, and reading his growth felt like reading my own childs growth haha.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this read and would possibly even reread this which is rare for me.💖 <<less

This book wasn't bad, but the couple didn't have the healthiest relationship. When I initially started reading, I wasn't sure I would be able to finish, because of how timid the MC seemed. The MC was an orphan, being strong-armed by his best friend into selling dr*gs, and was almost too naive for my taste. Thankfully, I continued reading and the MC gradually became more bearable. Once the ML stepped onto the page, he started changing the MC's life for the better and I think the ML helped teach the... more>> MC some life lessons along the way. Considering how poorly their first meeting went, I was surprised that I actually liked how the relationship between the MC and ML evolved. For the ML, it was sort of love at first sight, though he didn't realize it at the time. Then after their horrendous first meeting, like fate, they kept bumping into each other. The ML, no longer wanting to leave their meetings to chance, hired the MC to work at one of his clubs. This allowed the MC and ML to get closer and inevitably they became intimate.

Spoiler

Honestly, normally I'm a fan of smut, but the scenes in this book weren't "hot" to me. The smut scenes always seemed extremely painful for the MC and appeared almost nonconsensual. I wouldn't say the MC was gr*ped, but once the ML started, he wouldn't stop, no matter how much the MC said he was tired. Also, the ML wasn't particularly gentle, despite being well endowed, which I thought made him a selfish lover. His lack of care for the MC's comfort made the ML lose points in my eyes. Especially, since the MC was a v*rgin, which I don't think the MC ever admitted. Then the ML lost even more points when he confined the MC after his engagement was exposed. The ML wanted to marry a woman (purely for business), and keep the MC as a mistress, and saw absolutely nothing wrong with this. When the MC attempted to break up with the ML, he was confined, his phone was taken away and the ML constantly insinuated that the MC's actions could affect his best friend's life. I don't like blackmail, threats, or emotional manipulation in a relationship.

[collapse]

In the beginning, I liked the blossoming feelings between the MC and ML, but toward the end I couldn't wait for them to break up or at least temporarily separate. The ML had wiggled himself into the MC's heart and then showed his cruel side when things weren't going his way, repeatedly hurting the MC through his actions and words. I was immensely happy when the MC, who was new to love, finally said enough is enough. I thought the character development was slow but at least it was there. Due to my disappointment in the ML, I had a hard time rating this book. The book was better than okay, but the cringe s*x scenes and the ML's toxic tendencies lessened my rating. I would give this book 3.5 stars if I could. <<less

I almost cried myself to sleep after reading the last chapter of this novel. It was just so beautiful and emotional and sweet. To think that the wisteria fragrance would not only soothe him in adolescence but also in adulthood. Hyun-se is an alpha, a dominant one. He's cunning, self-centered, his handsome face always showing a knowing and cold smile. That's just how he is. And I've loved him since I first met him in chapter 1. Si-yul on the other hand is nothing but a caring, loveable person who's... more>> trying to survive this crazy world alongside his omega brother. Being a beta himself, he can only start to imagine how life is for the secondary genders. But all changes once he meets Hyun-se, and it's here were we start this amazing journey of selfless love, incredible devotion and indescribable sorrow. The beginning is sweet, it'll get your feet dangling in the air and your teeth aching with how caring they are to each other. Hyun-se dotes on Si-yul in ways not even he himself realizes, his gentle and caring side only for Si-yul. Is truly remarkable how husband material he is. That made me love him. Even in the moments where I was supposed to hate him because Si-yul was suffering, I still loved him. Because Si-yul loved him, with all his heart, despite everything. Hyun-se never intentionally hurted Si-yul, but because of the circumstances he found himself in, he had to make choices and these choices hurted Si-yul in ways that will hurt you too if you care for these characters at all by the time you start the middle of this novel. It's truly anxiety inducing. And sad. So incredibly sad and twisted that I skipped all the way to the last chapter just so I could ease myself to go back and finish the bad chapters I was reading at the time. Now, I'm not saying they're bad because they're badly written or anything like that. These sad chapters were amazingly brought about. The pacing, the prose, the setting. Everything was perfectly composed to make us feel the heartbreak Si-yul was going through in our own hearts. And that's what makes these chapters so bad. Si-yul is suffocating in his own feelings, drowning in this dread, panicking... and no one can save him. The only one who could try is the very person who's started drowning him. He's lost, we're lost with him. He's crying, we're feeling pangs in our hearts. He's withering away and we're praying to god that Hyun-se get his sh*t together soon. And he do eventually, and then we get some more of the fluff we started with. They're compatible in ways that I can't even describe for real, their love tangible and sweet to no end. I feel like I was blessed for reading this. My heart... OMG. I'm emotional just writing this review. Si-yul, I love you. Hyun-se, I love you too. <<less

This story is so friggin cuteee, although MC and ML had a very rough first meeting, he’s been basically taking care of MC and even giving him a job to help him out and alzo bcz of an incident.. Story pacing is great too not too slow or too fast, characters are written great and their dialogues are entertaining. Few 2nd hand embarrassing moments, and many comedic scenes. This novel has gotten me HOOKED. Only 15 chapters in and I love it! (Not giving a rating rn but as of... more>> 15 chapters in its a strong 3.5, which isnt bad) <<less

Worth reading—but only if you're okay with a toxic male lead.

So, I have to admit, I'm not usually into toxic male leads who act like tr*sh while the main character is a literal cinnamon roll. BUUUT... this novel still got me kind of obsessed, and here's why.

First, let's talk about why I say the ML is toxic—and why I still kept reading.

Spoiler

The male lead comes from a super rich family. When he starts dating the MC, who's from a poor background, he's also forced into an engagement with another woman—because, of course, rich family drama. I know, it sounds horrible (and maybe on another day I would've rage-quit).

BUT: he never sleeps with or kisses the fiancée. She actually has a secret lover of her own. He's only going along with the engagement because his adoptive father is abusive and manipulative, and has had a hold on him since childhood. Eventually, he breaks off the engagement, even though it puts his inheritance at risk. That's why I decided to stick with it.

[collapse]

That said, the novel itself is honestly good. The writing is really engaging—it had me staying up way too late. The cover is gorgeous. The MC is sweet and likeable, though he leans a bit Mary Sue at times. And the romance is super compelling. There's genuine chemistry between the leads, and some moments that really hit emotionally.

Just don't go in expecting a soft, fluffy smut-fest. It's not that kind of story. <<less

I just finished reading it right now. It really left me hanging—I wish it were a little longer. Huhu I really wanted to see how they would take care of their child. I'm only giving it a 4+ rating because I felt like it ended too soon, but overall, it was so beautiful. I cried several times because of how moving it was. I'm listening to Fly Me to the Moon right now since it was mentioned a few times in the novel. The main character is super cute! The... more>> drama near the end was a bit dragged out, though. Honestly, communication really is the key. <<less
