Aside from the story set in a rather boring pace, the translation reads like MTL to me.

I'm a bit surprised because I am used to EXR having great quality translations but this, while you get the general idea, you have to set your frame of mind to MTL reading to get the gist of the paragraph.

In the end, I couldn't get past the third arc because reading has become intolerable. I'm a bit disappointed.

It's just... not fun. "Bland" is a word that's been used a lot in the reviews, and it's a good summation. The narration is so removed from any highs and lows it sounds bored with itself, the characters and scenarios are either run of the mill QT tropes or wasted in potential due to the rushed pacing (three arcs in 41 chapters, really?) and lack of any emotional impact, and even three arcs in there's been no substantial backstory on who the MC and ML are, not that I care... more>> because, again, there's nothing to get attached to here. No significant change ever happens in their relationship because it's just a constant cycle of ML who retains his memories weaving a net for MC who remembers nothing until they reach happily ever after, rinse and repeat. What's it all for? What are the stakes here? Two stars for the smooth translation. Read any other QT. <<less

I have a love hate relationship with this novel. It's so good but this novel is like watching dramatic ancient dramas where arguments lasts for 5 or 6 episodes but for this novel I think it's the plot that gets dragged.

It gets boring sometimes and there is no satisfying feeling after finishing it because they get back together literally after 200+ chapters of the ML being scared that the MC will flip after remembering they need only 1 or 2 chapters to get back together.

From what I've read so far, it's a two person world view, with very limited view from Shou side of story.

The Gong is the person who has mission in each world they transmigrated into and the Shou being there to accompany him unknowingly.

Perhaps because he's sick (?) I've no idea, haven't read that far.

No significant hurdles or obstacles that makes it different from other quick transmigration story.

Overall this felt like Seme/Gong protagonist POV most of the time, that's why I'll shelve this till there's no more Shou/Uke protagonist novels available.

Interesting plot and a really good QT, but the ending seems to be rush.

tbh, the ending in not my cup of tea. Though it is a happy ending yet it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Arc 12's theme is really nice (about vampies) but it is more bitter sweet than the rest of the arcs. I also feel injustice for the ML on how the MC treats him when he had an amnesia (though it is the ML's fault), I really feel bad for the ML. It would be nice if there are extras to fix the ending.

One of my favorites at ExR. It’s a no mayor drama kind of story with a few ups and downs and many cute and happy moments. Each arc is kind of a book of their own and at the same time, you get glimpses of what’s going on ‘behind the scenes’ so you keep guessing and want and not want to reach the end at the same time. I liked some arcs more than others but that is to be expected. That being said, I really liked the story as... more>> a whole and, although I would have love to have a few more chapters or extras, I think it works just as it is. First of all, thanks for translating!

The characters are lovable and even though it's 213 chapters, it's pretty light read. It was fun at first, but I after first 7 arcs I had to take a break and I skimmed through arc 8, cause it got boring. 9th arc was a bit better but I always had a feeling that something was missing. Also, I'm really not happy with the ending, like.. Give me extras or something please. That's why it's 4*, I might even change it later to 3*.

I really like this! This is quite similar to other transmigration stories but also not like that. It’s chill and light hearted. There’s no great big villain, just 2 dudes trying to get their happily ever after together forever.

Honestly, I can't really understand all those 2 Star reviews. For me, I like it a little bland. I just finished the first arc and loved the fluff as well as the easy relationship the cp had. The translation is also pretty good and I give it a 4.5/5 because there could be a bit more face slapping for my taste but otherwise I would thoroughly recommend for any soft-hearted, fluff-loving reader.

This novel is fine if you want a bit slice of life with high powered ML and overly pampered MC. For me it's a bit dissatisfying that the ML has to be "rescued" by the mc's family in the first two arcs before he shows his talents. Seeing some of the summaries for future arcs, I'm not that excited, so I'm putting a pause on my reading.

I love qt novels, but usually for the quick face slapping. If it's slice of life, I think a longer story helps develop the... more>> characters and interest in them more. Right now, I've been through one arc and am honestly not that invested in either character. <<less

I actually love this novel very much. It was funny and wholesome. I really don't need to waste many braincells reading this. 100% a novel good for relaxation.

Some people might find it boring but it doesn't feel like that to me. Maybe the term 'boring' depends on the person's preference. It's a good novel for short. Not really perfect (no novel is perfect) but because of the enjoyment it brought me I gave it 5 star! (⁠*⁠＾⁠3⁠＾⁠) ⁠/⁠～⁠♡

I need to stop not marking things as "reading" while reading them, lol. It's led me to refind a ton of stuff that I'd either already finished or dropped... and for the latter, half the time I can't remember why >.>

Will come back and leave a proper review when I remember if I had dropped it or when I decide to re-read and keep going.

I realize now I paused at the third arc because even though I usually like ancient arc settings, this one bugged me for some reason. So I kept procrastinating on reading, which turned into long enough to kinda forget what the whole thing was about.

I enjoyed reading this novel, tbh. I didn't find it bland, moreso interesting with the different POV and how the ML was the one hopping for MC. I admit I took a long time to finish reading this, but I really enjoyed it. The translation had some off parts, but it was still bearable.

I'll give 3 stars for this. I really like reading quick transmigration danmeis, but this novel disappoint me. It's really bland, as if you chewed a tasteless and flaky biscuits in the fiery desert.

I'm on arc 7 now and still forcing myself to finish this novel even though I'm sick of reading it. The plot in each arc is pretty bland, the arc where the ML transmigrated as a fat man is a good prompt/idea but the story line did not polished it well.

Others would like it but me? Nah,... more>> I'd delete this in my library after reading it. Seems like there's no progress in every arc. <<less

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's kids who don't give credit to their fantastic parents and run off and fall in love with some hobbo on the side of the road. Hence, exactly what happens in this novel. If you can push through with that sort of naive MC you're a champ.

This is very good light read. Though it's like most of the QT world hopping plot, this one is more on the sweet side. Each arc have a happy sweet ending, not those with great regrets where ML or MC was gone with a heart ache. What I love is that author san always dig a pit for the ml. Where usually the op, shameless, and obsessive ML always got the golden halo and powerful body (main character type) but our ML here will occasionally got unattractive, small beauty... more>> type role or even have to be a cross dresser. But he still be a top no matter what?! And don't underestimate MC Bai baby role. Even though he was spoil endlessly by ML and he look innocent, cute and naive, but he also strong in character, brave, independent and extremely intelligent (stubborn too) He is not only being protected but he can also protect those around him and especially can protect and raise our ML. (And ML shamelessly took advantage of that too??!) it's really a wonderful light read. Not too much dog blood, good fluff and dog food. Thank you <<less

This is the second QT novel I've read from the same author, the first being It's Actually Not Easy Wanting to be a Male Supporting Lead and I have to say that this one is significantly better than the other.

Like other QT novels, the couple's past is slowly unveiled over the course of more than 10 arcs, but what separates this from other QT novels is the last arc.

The shou becomes aware that the trajectory of his life has been planned out by the gong and therefore rejects gong's machinations, trying to stand up on his own two feet instead.

As this is an old couple, they're wholeheartedly devoted to each other, no surprises here. In each arc, the shou forgets his memory but they're quickly find each other in each arc.

Unfortunately, there were many loose ends at the end of the novel and it would have been really nice to have some extras.

Their past is never clearly defined and the gong's identity as a "senior defender/maintainer" is vague. Furthermore, their new world is not well explained.
