After obtaining the knowledge of the Magi Craft Meister, Jin attempts to use a warp gate but it malfunctions, transporting him to an unknown place. There is a lot of low rating reviews, so here I am trying to motivate some readers.

The premises is pretty enjoyable if you're into slice-of-life. Sadly if you're looking for a harem like series then I don't think this is for you. I'd be honest there isn't much romance but at some point there will be. I've asked people for spoilers and there is a reason why he is not interested on the opposite s*x and it will be fix at some point.

What's really enjoyable here is watching him create... more>> things, meeting new people, and doing crazy stuff. There is also a lot of character and they don't feel flat at all. Not everyone likes him like those usual s*upid novels where everything is way too easy for the MC.

The only problems is there is not much POV chapters. <<less

You'll be disappointed if you're expecting an action/adventure novel with tons of monsters and demons. Magicraft Meister is completely a slice of life novel. But in that regard, it's the best slice of life Isekai novel that I've ever read. The MC has his strengths and he sticks to them, he's not too ambitious but also not a complete pushover (unlike 99% of Isekai novel protagonists), and he's not so OP that the story becomes boring... Not boring, but the story is rather repetitive. So far the story is: MC... more>> travels to a kingdom, helps a potential waifu in need, shows off his engineering skills, then leaves, repeat in a new kingdom with a new waifu. But he never makes a move on a potential waifu; unfortunately, the MC does have the annoying "herbivore" trait that is common in Japanese light novels. But he's laid the groundwork so it's not impossible to see some romance/harem in the future.

All in all, this story is great if you're into the slice-of-life-in-another-world genre. Ah, btw, the "mecha" tag is somewhat misleading; it's more like golems. There are no pilots and the "robots" move through magic power. <<less

42 web volumes and still going. 5 volumes finnished and 6th still ongoing. 3 translators changed? 4 months of none translated chapters before Subpar picked this up. At first I was reluctant to start reading this after seeing this information. But started to read it anyway.

This was enjoyable read. Lots of slice of life. As expected of japanese novels. A solid 3 stars. (Me very own little opinion.) Though it is like reading a "safe planned out novel" There is no risk, no big excitement, no thrill, no big... more>> plot yet shown, playing all the safe cards so to say.

I dont know who edited the chapters from volume 4 to 5 but its jumping between narrating view to first person view from: "After a while, Jin went out" to -> "I do not know the name, but" in same context. Chapter 1 volume 5 felt weird edited. And slowly further chapters felt also weirdly edited. As if they were slowly giving up on this novel. Chapter 6+7 look as if they were machine translated and copy pasted. Here is another exampel: in same context the butler starts a conversation with Jin, IN SAME CONTEXT, the butler turned into a "she" IN SAME CONTEXT the butler turned into Elsa the lady, who is escorting Jin. <<less

(I read v3 translations, and farther in the raws. My details are a little outdated, so this is based on past notes I took.)

Fairly solid slice-of-life. If you like Death March, this might be your speed. The MC is pretty altruistic, doing things because it's the "nice" thing to do rather than because there's any real benefit to doing it.

The age certainly shows in the style (not a bad thing, just an observation). This series features:

  • Daughter-maid groupies (he's father and master), i.e. The platonic daughter/imouto/servant harem
  • Japanese cultural aspects catching on and becoming instantly popular
  • Situations with predictable outcomes, but are still mildly interesting
  • Encounters with various female characters who don't seem to have any male relationships, or experience as such (the faux-harem)
  • Some signs of self-preservation instincts, but MC definitely doesn't have proficiency in the deception skillset.
  • Generic Japanese-style altruism
Whether those items are good or bad is up to you. I thought it was cute, but not enough to survive my latest reading list purge. I'm giving it 4 stars because it was good. It simply isn't my cup of tea.

Although the plot is repeative like building a harem while exploring the world and MC is lacking in ambition im looking forward to the reactions of the nobles he pissed off in the places he visited when they realize who he is so yea quite a good read.

Slice of life story built on interesting premises, but repetitive plot. The first volume is very good, but by the time the third volume began, the story has lost its charm for me. No character development whatsoever, and as the MC has no ambition, it became boring. Still, if you like Desumachi, Seiun o Kakeru, or such, you may like Magicraft Meister as it is very well-written. I too may come back later to check up on how the story builds up in later chapters.

A story that starts like a everyday slice of life type of novel, but steadily throws in adventure, intrigue with evolving and progressive characters as the author grows more confident and expressive.

An enjoyable long term novel that I'm glad is still on going.

I think you should turn your mind off while reading this

I was initially interested in the craft theme of making cute maid robots but the op is really cool and well the story is cliché and MC is stuck in a village making sophisticated tools there and helping the village people's business which shouldn't be his business. Was going to stay there but MC left him and moved to another place by teleport and as soon as MC met someone helped him and left him then went again by teleport... more>> and met someone helping him and left him like that wow something is wrong with this person I think

MC is very smart ah no than smart it's more like knowledgeable knowledge given from others for free not his own effort but using it as if it was his own skill and unfortunately MC doesn't profit anything from every thing he makes to make something so valuable and sophisticated but giving it away is more appropriate by throwing it to someone else like it's nothing but a lump of tr*sh and more annoying MC with his students made a loli robot and gave it to a bald old man as a gift gosh

MC is nobody there is a country that is at war and that shouldn't be mc's business but MC instead joins the war and defends a country that is not his country acts like a god who mediates war

and also MC idiotically treats his enemy a dying king even though MC is clearly rejected by the prince and is such an idiot that MC let the girl who loves him be taken to another room and separated what a complete idiot

but strangely I found the same thing in other novels like isekai maou to shoukan dorei shoujo <<less

It's an isekai with overpowered abilities, what are you expect?

Leaving aside it is an isekai or not, the world building it self was rather good. Considering about the crafting magic can be used for further development, the MC have bizarre knowledge about his past life before getting isekai'ed. Let's say, he was metallurgy or mechanical engineering (this was my impression about him, he make things like golem). For someone who using crafting magic, that kind of knowledge was indeed essentials for him. But after reading through the stories, his knowledge... more>> boarded into medical, civil, aerospace, and many more I couldn't think. As if the MC have infinite knowledge based on author reference, and that kind of MC was the worst because I can't see his development as long he couldn't limit himself.

Spoiler

the story itself will get interesting after they encountered a demon and wagging war with them. Unfortunately I have stalled this series when the demon come to hoarai island.

Lets see.. Im trying to re reading again this novel, and decide to review this time. But meh.. (Yeah this novel pretty forgetable if you left it sometimes).

First off all, the fundamental of most JP protag being wimp and slow af in romance slowly crashed me out. All of things I could remember from the first read I have ever this novel was :

Spoiler

he did abadon the red hair girl potential heroine and she's married into MC friend. Which suppossely liking MC actually at first because MC help her and she's also love things that MC does. MC just too dim witted or god damn dense either, idk. And yes it will take more more time to MC actually get laid on his harem

[collapse]

The world building actually pretty interesting as he's did craft/build many things. The plot was.. Almost nothing. You bet. I know it should be wrong to me to hope MC get better in romance aspect to atleast, but cmon.. Im growing tired of dense MC with harem who didnt get laid on any girl.

As I said this pretty forgetful and yeah the MC denseness could be pretty annoying. Welp, it pretty enjoyable at some part 3/5

another novel that I need to cool my head. <<less

Great for those who like MC who invents things, randomly helps people, has episodic adventures.

Not so great for those who only want lots of action, character growth, any sort of mental thriller, or super serious/intense themes.

This is simple layed back story with much more world building and exploration than anything else.

If you are expecting complicated politics and character development this is not for you.

The MC doesn't generally face much hardship so he has no reason to grow.
