I thought this would either be a dark comedy or edgy tr*sh (which is often still fun), but it actually ended up being one of the best novels on here imo (and I'm at >180 wn at this point).

It starts out with a relatively normal guy who overreacts a bit to a new disease that makes zombies. The apocalypse comes in the most realistic way I've seen, which makes it more depressing... Korea doesn't have self defense, so killing sick people that are trying to bite you is mu*der! Family... more>> members don't want them to get hurt, etc. Honestly, the only thing I can nitpick being unrealistic is how long utilities last.

From there, things slowly progress step by step. All the characters are extremely well done, with their own personalities, goals, and growth.

Overall, this is a must-read if you're interested in a grounded zombie apocalypse novel from the perspective of a raider. There isn't much r*pe because the virus spreads through bodily fluids, but that doesn't stop this from being an extremely dark novel at times. <<less

Not leaving a review yet, but let me say this has the absolute funniest opening of an apocalypse story I've ever seen. A guy who needs to go outside and touch some grass sees an emergency broadcast about zombies. He's immediately like "oh shit! here's my chance to use everything I've ever learned from zombie apocalypse novels!" and hastily takes action take action to hold out against a zombie hoard... accept that a few people getting infected with a zombie virus doesn't mean that society completely collapses within a day... more>> and everything is still functioning as normal. Which means that while the MC immediately goes into panic mode setting up a defense, everyone else is just going about their day. And then within minutes the MC's defense accidentally kills a regular person so he gets arrested in the very first chapter. f*ckin hilarious, 10/10.

The MC is literally the f*cking worst though, I hate him but I'm fascinated so I'm going to keep reading. <<less

This series is about a zombie apocalypse, but unlike the normal trope where the apocalypse appears out of nowhere and social order collapses at once. Here however it is a man caused disaster and one that starts on a small scale, meaning society is functioning as usual to a large extent in the beginning and we see how it slowly crumbles under the apocalypse influence. The MC's way of acting is understandable and we can follow his thought process to a large extent. It's an interesting and fresh execution of... more>> a very used genre and I recommend giving it a chance if you want a MC with a somewhat dark and delusional personality in a world in the middle of collapsing trying to make the most out of the situation. <<less
