Three months after their marriage, Jian Hang and Qin Moling still slept in separate rooms. This marriage was decided by the Old Master of the Qin family, and Qin Moling had no feelings for her.

In the eyes of outsiders, when Jian Hang who came from an ordinary family married into the Qin family, she was a sparrow who flew up a branch and became a phoenix. Many people were waiting to see her become a joke as the abandoned wife of a wealthy family. But Jian Hang indeed did not lose out on this marriage, and so she decided to live a good life together with Qin Moling.

That night, she took the initiative to find him and talked about a topic that was trending on the Internet.

Qin Moling only gave her a few perfunctory words.

Seeing that he had no interest, Jian Hang got up and went back to her bedroom. After a while, there was a knock on the door.

Jian Hang didn’t open the door and said in a disinterested tone: “If you have anything to say, just say it.”

Qin Moling: “The hot search you’re concerned about was the 22nd earlier, but now it has been promoted to the 2nd and tagged as ‘explosive’.”

Jian Hang: “…”

PS: As the title says, marriage comes first, then love. The male lead goes from never being in love, to having his heart quicken, his desires aroused, to being completely devoted.

……

There’s no real antagonist to speak of, just the story of two hard-headed people trying to get along in a marriage neither of them was keen on—until, of course, everything clicks together.

The female lead is not a wilting damsel-in-distress. She’s also a ‘domineering CEO’ in her own right, kicks business ass, and eats arrogant bosses for breakfast—all done with a gorgeous shade of lipstick.

I really liked this. It was just such a pleasant and chill read. There isnt much conflict in the novel nor is there any deep drama between the couple. It mainly focuses on how they learn to become closer and closer as a married couple after their willing marriage from a successful blind date. The ML from the start had tried to fit in to his role of her husband and she his wife. I loved seeing how they grew from lack of communication leading to minor misunderstanding bout... more>> a situation to later being more frank etc. If ur somone who loves arranged/flash marriage tropes where both parties make an effort and with not much relationship drama etc this is for you.

I'm a sucker for arranged marriage tropes, and this one was quite a good read. Nothing too dramatic and there was realistic relationship development between the MC and ML. It took quite a while for MC to actually move in with the ML, and then even longer for her to open up emotionally and rely on the ML. From the beginning she was the more passive one in the relationship, but they are mature and communicate openly. They both have a softer side that they show each other that kind... more>> of shocks other people who witness them together. I really liked that MC had her own career, and even when she went to work for ML's company, she still stood up on her own accord and didn't rely on him. In fact, ML got upset that she took differentiating between his identity as a boss and as a husband so seriously. But she also has a cute side, her hobby is gaming and she even tries to get ML roped into it. <<less

If you prefer arranged marriage with two mature people with successful careers and also who eventually can communicate with each other with mostly a chill storyline, then it's quite a fitting read for you.

Despite the beginning being so loud and might get your expectations up, but actually it's not that case. Jian Hang is quite mature in dealing with things and it was quite refreshing how she dealt with her life situations and also with her relationship with Moling. Although it's an arranged marriage, but both parties actually were not... more>> opposed to it (don't look how at first many people saw Moling as being dissatisfied, it's only their wrong opinion) and they treated each other fairly. Like if you treat me well and I will treat you well at the beginning, before they were opening up to each other, came together physically and fell in love with each other. If they had any "disputes" they communicated it through. It's a good relationship.

Also a lot of secondary characters, some you may like, some you won't. I know for sure that many did not understand why author included extras about the second Zhong sister. Whose husband is Qi Zhengchen (?) or what was his name, already forgot. He is part of another novel, I don't think it's on NU, but they are all a part of a shared universe. Anyway, I don't understand it too and it is part of the list of "things I found a little off about thi novel":

  1. Zhong sisters and Zhong Yanyue included, came as unprofessional tbh, because they are people in ahigh position and they gossiped about Jian Hang who had rumors flying about her in the working place as if every project was won through a bed. It felt as if they were born into high class so they can rise high, but another woman from grassroots is definitely sleeps her way up. It was disgusting.
  2. I could do without Zhong Yanyue, because she is an unlikable character, so they deserved only extras lol.
  3. Jian Hang and gaming. This was so random. It was also random that she felt sick playing games and then was dramatic that she couldn't play. Like girl, there are a ton of hobbies out there, do clay, paint, go hiking, you can do so many things. Of course gaming is the easiest to access, but still it's not like the end of the world, I don't know, I just felt weird with this addition. I find gaming content in novels really boring in general, unless characters shine with ability to speak and entertain, otherwise it's like a waste of time and water to fill whatever gaps there are.
  4. Some of the business matters it's better to read with your head switched off, if you don't understand these things than you'll be fine.
