To give an idea of the comedy, here is an excerpt from their young adult period

The more I thought about it, the more uncomfortable I felt.

How can sparrows understand the aspirations of swans!

It’s probably a belated rebellion, but I’ve decided to do something.

My mother strongly forbade me from doing it, saying that it would affect my studies, so I originally planned to wait until after graduation.

Now, I’ve decided to do it immediately, right away!

However, I need someone to cooperate with me to make it happen.

Coincidentally, there is a very suitable candidate in front of me.

On the way back, Du Hongting and I went to a pharmacy.

We bought the necessary tools for the crime.

Due to my lack of experience, I studied the packaging for a while and asked, “How do I use this?”

Du Hongting took a glance and said, “I’ll teach you.”

After going back, I took a shower and sneaked into Du Hongting’s room and quickly locked the door, “Let’s get started!”

Unfortunately, I misjudged.

Du Hongting had no talent in this area whatsoever.

He was too rough and had no skills at all.

I couldn’t help but cry out, “Oh my god!!! It hurts so much! Can you be more gentle?”

With a wipe of my hand, there was a smear of red!

I shouted in anger, “Look! It’s bleeding!!!”

But Du Hongting continued calmly, “A little bleeding is normal. Just bear with it and it will be okay soon.”

However, I didn’t lose out. In the process, I pinched his arm until it turned red.

I regretted it so much.

Why did I have to rebel against myself like this?

I was wrong.

It was just too painful.

When I walked out of the fat guy’s room, my eyes were red.

As a result, I looked up and bumped into my mother.

I felt so guilty.

My mother’s expression was really—

complicated and indescribable.

Although to outsiders she seemed to have no expression at all.

When I did something wrong, I acted tough, but as soon as I saw my mom, I became a coward.

I tidied myself up from head to toe, making it even more obvious what I had done.

I hoped she hadn’t noticed.

But then she suddenly said to me, “Go call Du Hongting out.”

I was so scared that my face turned pale and my lips turned purple, and I couldn’t speak properly, “Why do I have to call him out?”

My mom seemed a bit moved when she saw my expression, and I think she saw through me.

After all, her expression was pale with a sense of “since the incident has already happened, pursuing it further is pointless”.

My mom said, “Call him out... for dinner.”

I said, “Oh.”

After Du Hongting heard about it, he was stunned for two seconds.

Then he showed a meaningful smile.

I interpreted it as a sign of gloating.

Sigh.

If I had known, I wouldn’t have pierced my ears. It hurts so much.

All I can be clear about at this point in the plot is that she always misunderstood her chubby childhood friend to be a playboy since they entered college, despite numerous evidence otherwise. <<less

Loved this story. I wish it was longer. Most good stories are agonizingly short. I find it quite unbelievable how low the rating is.

FL is more like a ML and vice versa. However it doesn't get awkward but rather quite interesting. Serious topics described in a light tone on the FL's monologue. There's a lot of misunderstanding between the leads, but the love between them overcomes everything. A lot of emotional touch adds to the depth.

Saved in my favorite reading list. Thanks to both the author and translator for the... more>> great work. <<less

This story was pretty mild with minimal angts and dramas. Even if there's one, MC's monologue made it like a comedy. The dynamic between FL and ML was quite sweet but it could be better. I mean, ML was seriously having a communication problem that often led to misunderstanding and FL also tended to be overthinking without trying to ask ML about it first.

I also think that FL was a bit too frugal? She refused using ML's money because of her insecurity and pride but weren't they already legally married? In many Asian's country, it's husband's duty to provide living expenses and ML also told FL that he hoped that she spent his hard-earned money but she still refused to do that. She skimped many things from clothes, foods, etc when ML was obviously so rich. Thankfully, she got better later. She became more confident and lively after being friends with one of ML's acquaintance.

Aside from that, this story was quite okay. It also wasn't long so it didn't take much time to finish. <<less

Obs: Translated by AI.

Several times, I felt that the author chose the wrong genre.

This story deals with very serious topics for me, such as the difficulty of having children, dependent love, betrayal, and relationships where individuals are unequal. These are serious issues, and perhaps if the author hadn’t chosen the Comedy genre, they would have been better developed.

I must say that the ML made me very uncomfortable at times. His arrogance and the way the FL saw him—as someone she wasn’t worthy of having—bothered me so much that I almost... more>> cried.

Cried out of frustration because the FL seemed to have so much potential, and everything was ruined by her constant comparison to the OP ML. The FL never grew at all.

Not to mention, the FL studied financial technology but didn’t understand finance at all. The ML knew more than she did. All the achievements she wanted were accomplished by the ML. That was so frustrating!

And the ML always played the victim and never apologized.

The author liked to play with gender roles regarding the protagonists. For example, the ML was more vain, the FL was a workaholic. The ML wanted a daughter, the FL wanted a son, etc. This was meant to be humorous, but it just felt uncomfortable because it was so stereotypical.

Not to mention the first chapter, which, despite being intriguing, makes us believe that the FL was only with the ML for some kind of gain. When in reality, she just loved him. That first chapter was very deliberate, but it was intriguing. I couldn’t stop reading once I started, but it only got more and more annoying.

They spent more than half of the story bickering, distancing themselves, and ignoring each other. And no, I didn’t find it funny, just exhausting.

Ahh, there were so many things I hated...

Ahh, the story begins and ends with misunderstandings. That’s a theme I like. They do get resolved, and they’re funny while they last. Other than that... I don’t know what else to say.

I definitely feel like reading this was a waste of time. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. But maybe you’ll like it if you’re not as critical as I am. There are no villains, no personal growth for the protagonists. But there is a slow-burn romance. That’s nice. <<less
