As an outstanding figure in the grim reaper industry, there were no souls under the heavens that Lu Xu could not collect.

One day, he was given an undercover mission to investigate the mystery of how Film Emperor Ji Xiunian managed to escape death so many times. Seeing that the Film Emperor was going to be a mentor on an idol survival show, Lu Xu had a flash of inspiration and signed up as a contestant.

He originally planned on taking this person away after completing his investigation. However, he accidentally ended up debuting in center position.

At the age of five, Ji Xiunian was prophesied to remain lonely his entire life. The people around him were either dead or grievously hurt.

I was attracted by the idol survival show settings of this novel with the mindset of giving it a try, I never thought I would love this novel so much.

The novel doesn't have many scheming going on between characters and face slapping scenes, which I like because I'm past that era. Like what other reviews said, I also love the interaction between characters, especially with the trainees and the ghosts. Their every little interaction just made me smile and laugh.

For both the main character and the male lead in this... more>> novel, I really like them. The main character, Lu Xu is just my cup of tea. He's OP I won't deny it, and I love that about him. He's strong, intelligent, friendly, talented, knowledgeable, wise, etc.

And the male lead, he's so cute and nice! His feelings and care for Lu Xu is just so precious in my eyes. He's talented, nice, handsome, smart, loyal, caring, and etc.

Their chemistry as a couple is perfect. Their personality is a perfect fit to me. It's amazing how the author wrote them to be like that. You can literally call them a "match made in heaven."

THEY ARE SO SWEET, SWEET, SWEET!! This is why I f*cking love slow burn romances. The different satisfaction and happiness I got when they become together after a long journey is such a nice feeling. It's just a different pleasure compared to fast/normal pace romances. It's worth the wait!!! I feel like I'm gonna drown with these sugars. Their every touch, kiss, sweet talk, hugs are making me wanna bang my head to the wall and scream.

For the ending, it doesn't quite sit well with me. Yes, it was handled right with proper conclusion and end, but it feels rushed (?) to me. I don't know if I'm the only one feeling that vibe from the ending but I said what I said. I even thought that the novel will be long with their orders and all. I guess that's it, I'm looking forward to their life as a couple, a celebrity, and as trainees.

The novel is really nice, the characters, the tone and the mood, and the settings are all written well and is my cup of tea. I heavily recommend this novel if you like idol survival show settings, slow romance, OP MC, and slice-of-life vibe. <<less

Ngl this novel is rather bland and boring. At first I really interested because its like a new concept, like a grim reaper participating in an idol survival show ? Wow that'd be interesting I guess. But nope, the survival show is boring as hell, its so flat not exciting at all, maybe its because the story supposed to be more focused on the grim reaper's work instead and thus make this part more like summarized ? And MC is too OP its became really boring.

The part about the ghost... more>> is quite interesting tho, like they actually still enjoy the same thing like normal living human being. They even have phones and able to socialize online 😂 I just cant quite imagine that peoples would burn something for their deceased relatives, one of them even burn an estate 😱 wonder how they dont even make it to the news lol

The part about the grim reaper actually kinda reminded me of the Shinigami (grim reaper) in Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) tho. Well its been long time since I last read the manga and I cant quite remember if it ever shown/mentioned in manga how the Shinigami work but if you ever watch the musical then you'd see that they work just like office worker in human world. Yeah just like in this novel, the only difference is that it set in medieval era so theres no phone yet and they have a deathscythe. Anything else is kinda similar imo, like how the dead would show smth like life reacord. Maybe the author inspired from this ? Well idk, maybe just coincidence.

I haven't finished the novel yet because the translation is still on going, but the story isn't interesting enough to even keep me hooked for the next chapter. Its doesnt make me desperate enough to mtled it.

This novel was very cute but I do think it began to drag in the middle and the ending was pretty anticlimactic. While I do like the main couple I personally found the side characters to be the best part of this novel.

Quite good, I had a fun time reading this. A novel with some serious topics on death every now and then but the novel isn't heavy at all.

The entertainment circle/ showbiz thing really isn't important, it's just a setting, doesn't really take up a lot of space in the novel. Fluffy romance, isn't the best, but it's really cute. The whole death god was surprisingly fun to read. A fresh setting and also nice to read. The characters are pretty well-written, I think. I do have to say though, it... more>> doesn't delve deep into things, so it might seem a bit shallow and it feels a bit unfinished, especially with the somewhat sloppy ending.

Besides that, I think it does well on the topic of death. It keeps "death" throughout the story, but the novel is really light, even with a lot of mentions of death. The topic of death is really nice to read about, especially the author's view of death and life, but I wish they'd had gone deeper into the topic instead of keeping the story a lighter tone. I guess the author wanted to keep it light though, so yeah.

I'd recommend this if you like fluffy and light romances. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

Honestly, I don't have any complaints with this story. The flow is just right and stable.

The progress of MC and ML relationship is also gradual, it's not rushed. I mean it took ML 100 ch to admit to himself that he likes MC, that's half of the book.

If you want a quality read, I can safely recommend this story (≧∇≦) /

very enjoyable read. ML is sensible and sweet and inadvertently adopts MC's super cute fat fluffy cat. The idol show part of the novel is fun to read and introduces you to a lot of interesting and lovable (and not so lovable) characters. MC is a workaholic so it's equal parts infuriating and fun to see how he and ML get closer over the course of the story.

novel talks a bit about mature themes as well and puts its own tasteful spin on things. All in all a really nice... more>> and adorable novel. <<less

Recommend reading the raws or translated ver. -- some mtl sites are really.. unreadable

It's fun! Although I don't care much for the romance, I felt like the author kind of understood that and didn't push it in my face. Which I really appreciate. This novel is more about the paranormal/supernatural than the idol/entertainment aspect. So don't look too hard at how they played really fast and loose with some of the elements there.

One of the thing that kind of threw me off and then kept me feeling :S was just... more>> how often they visit the mentor's room. Like I know it's fiction so its fine, but when the power dynamic was just never acknowledged it was kinda.. it weirded me out abit.

It's fine though cause I did enjoy the plot. It was fun, lots of characters who deserve alot of face slaps! Ended pretty abruptly but completely. Kind of wish there were extras.. even though I don't know what else the extra could be about. The latter cases are more interesting, since it starts exploring how this 'god of death' element can be played in a story... still... it's a fine novel, pretty complete story. If you're down for a good time without much strings attached, it's a good read. Recommend for the experience (a pleasant time) <<less

No spoilers, but im glad I chose to read this Novel right after the revelation chapter already translated! No Suspense and more Curiosity!

I was totally 'blind' when started reading this novel aka get no Spoilers and chose to jump anyway. And I'm glad I get no disappointment so far!

MC being Calm and Charming Cool. He seems being aloof sometimes, but mostly just simply friendly to everyone who are good or would learn for the better.

He doesn't look down on human or anything. He's seriously good!!! But our MC is No... more>> Saint!

While ML are very good, friendly, and caring.

I'm serious, the story so far is very Enjoyable!

And there's cute Cat too!!! ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!

I honesty wonder how the story would end... Because MC's real job and this new job.... Hmmm

I. LOOOOOOOVVVEEE IT. Spoilers alert.

INTERESTHING PLOT, GOOD ML AND MC CHARACTERS! GOOD SIDE CHARACTERS!

AND I really like the face slapping in this novel... It is not because MC trying to push down/fight the bad guy rather the bad guy is the one who faced the consequences of his own actions for trying to be a villain by antagonising MC. I like his ending at the end.

I also like the bad guy in the normal world (reality) can have redemption once he is in underworld (bcs he died) as in the... more>> bad guy changed and try to be better.

Honestly it quite hard for me to call them as "villain" cause they are not really that bad compare to other novel "villain" so I just call them a "bad" guy instead. <<less

This story is really fun to read. Eveything started in a fun way but it ended abruptly. It has an uncompleted story line due to this abrupt ending.

At chapter 190+ the story is getting hotter, if I don't know that the story will be end at chapter 199 I would think that this is the climax part.

Although I didn't progress much, but the whole premise of mixing ghosts and modern world, if it's close to this type of story-telling, I will certainly like. The MC falls into category that I certainly appreciate, it's fun to watch him. The only thing I wonder how this story will progress later, after all we start off in entertainment and then there's 200 chapters in this novel. I hope it has twists and turns.

On the contrary the whole "mystery" behind ML can be easily solved, since such things are usually... more>> pretty predictable, when MC and ML come as two different entities, one is supposedly human and the other is a grim reaper, then one of this realms should bend to accomodate the other character for the promised happy ending and "lived happily ever after" to become reality, and this means that: a) either ML has a secret behind his birth and can be transformed to get closer to MC; or b) MC with some means has to come back as a human. There is also c) outside assistance with some supernatural means.

So far I have accumulated positive feelings for it, will come back after progressing in reading to add or reduce enthusiasm :) <<less
