I should have known what I was getting into when I read the title. I thought it was going to be one of those slightly misleading titles very common in CN novels. It's not.

I've only read up to chapter 6 but I'll probably stop here. I'm sorry. I just couldn't see how this could possibly develop into a healthy relationship and I can't imagine how the MC could have any positive feelings towards the ML with how he treats him.

Like reviewer Lucy666 says above, so far the ML is basically... more>> a parasite - eating the MC's food, living in his house and taking his room, making him clean up after his messes, not contributing at all to the household - all while calling the MC a useless idiot. Imagine going home to that after a tiring day's work. This is tagged as "black belly" and "tsundere" but I think "abusive" would be the more appropriate term.

Somewhat surprisingly, quite enjoyable. I'm slightly ambivalent about this novel. I love love the romance and how a good chunk of the story already has the main couple together and them being all affectionate and shoving dog food into our faces. Actually so satisfying and sweet. I'm giving 5* for that alone. But the beginning where the MC just gets ordered around by the ML is slightly annoying, though I can understand why the MC is like that. If before it was a slice of life I feel like the author crammed 2 entire arcs of action into like a couple dozen chapters. The author makes our MC very receptive to the ML especially with nighttime activities, which is refreshing. I really appreciate the depth of their emotion. The plot is good. The writing is good. The translation is good. But I hate the ML. His character still bloody awful until the last chapter. The romance is suck.

I really liked this novel so much I was so sad when there was no more chapters to read even though its 300 chapters long sgdjfh and for those who wants to read this please go ahead but dont stop just after a handful of chapters. I can’t love this novel any more. So much so, that I’ve read it twice – which is rare.

As with so many novels, this is one of those stories where one of the characters has an extreme personality, but if you stick with it, you’ll see that he changes and finally why he was so angry.

The MC is my favorite trope. He’s extremely intelligent while others view him as useless. It’s a pleasure to see him triumph.

There’s excitement, intrigue, quests and mysteries within mysteries. As well as a touching love... more>> story. One that sticks with me after it’s all said and done.

I appreciate how much is added when the author weaves the current and future together. It gives weight to all their achievements as they move inexorably towards war.

And I appreciate the idiotic inner thoughts these characters have. They’re funny and make those characters come alive – especially the cute green dinosaur AI.

The last twenty chapters or so get a little loose, both in the story line as well as the translation, but it’s still good. I’m sure the author was just ready to wrap it all up.

For all the reviews that state the ML is totally unlikable, the author has written many descriptions of how the ML doesn’t want the MC to know that he’s totally in love with him. Whether he sees it as a weakness or is afraid of being ridiculed, it’s clear, through his actions, that he adores the MC. He struggles to reign in his jealousy and anger while the MC is able to see past his emotional outbursts to the man he really is. The ML is not perfect. He does manage to grow throughout the story. His first bouts of anger and hitting walls abate as he begins to feel the support and love from the person he trusts most in his chaotic world (and mind). <<less

125 is a really good golden finger, it doesn’t only provide knowledge and space and mecha but also companionship 🙂‍↕️. LXL was really blessed with it esp with the background that he has.

a bit sad that his past life wasn’t mentioned much but he usually said he barely remembers it which is probably the reality of things.

LXL’s friends Tiang Li and Yates, tbh, I never saw how they could be friends HAHAHAH it’s unlike others MC, maybe bec LXL kept on giving and his friends weren’t really prominent figures? Which is ok, I just found it unique.

This is one of the best novels written. I don’t understand people who want characters to be a certain way. The author has the right to create their characters however they choose. That said, The MC is not a push over, he is just not violent. The ML is however in a bad ass way and he protects the MC like no one else. Love their dynamic and the way they go to bat for each other.

It took me soooo long to finally dare myself to read this long novel. The cover 'scare' me because I'm worried of any Love Triangle or any potential 2nd Male lead exist. But cheers for this novel and thank uu for Addis for explaining that there's no such thing as any other potential male lead except our One and Only ML. The tags doesn't missing things. And one of Male characters on the cover was MC's Brother. He deserve it ❤️

It's not Perfect, but it's Definitely Match of my Liking things!

ML may not be painted as a great person at the beginning, but trust the translator, and believe in the author why he's even exist as the ML.

ML was truly biggest Tsundere. He's Tsundere without being Violent toward MC. He's sharp mouthed and full of sarcasm, but he's soft in the heart.

I had imagine all the worst scenarios if or when MC reveal his secret (because he has this worringsome secret as the big plot of the story) to ML, but man... I gotta love ML more than ever.

I mean he's Not like the modern written ML Gong where they're all Understanding with Sweet Gentle Action whatsoever, but his reaction definitely match his personality in the best way ever!!!

DON'T dare to doubt ML'S LOVE and Affection toward MC. If anything, I would say his love toward MC was the kind of True Love and Unconditional!

Another mentioned by the translator why they chose to translate this novel was also worth mentioning. Our MC was relatable in sense. In certain situation he's submissive that some people would call him coward when he fear ML at the beginning. But his inner screaming was funny!

He's not a Saint, not s*upid, nor trust people easily. When he was so worried about his identity would be revealed, he chose to run away and even prepare for it. Many his way of thinking, I feel I can relate and I enjoy it!

But thank goodness, even with his problem and the lack of modern written Golden Finger, he has 125 to help him with many things.

Our MC nor ML is OP. Though ML was Very Strong, but he's also Hard Worker, and even there's few times he's in disadvantage situations. But he keep growing strong. And MC, he's truly the Weak grow Strong by Hardwork too. They both do their best for themselves and each other's sake. ❤️

Beside the Love Story, I also Love how the side characters written not in simple Black and White. Love the growing relationship of Friendship and Family. The Development and the Support. Precious!

I really enjoyed it as a plot power fantasy and romance was good but honestly lacking in some points. Idk as much as I liked this book it has some problems. Like the main couple borders on a toxic relationship at times and main lead and MC are kinda concerning.

ML could have worked. He is different enough from the common dom ML but he tends to regress or suffers from a lack of change.

I liked it a lot, much more than the title promises. Although in the middle I admit I skipped entire paragraphs of interactions and descriptions of those who weren't interested XD. Quite acceptable considering the tags... or maybe I didn't understand their whole dynamic....? anyway

This was alright at first but later it gets boring. The reason is pacing is so slow and it is filled with fillers. MC and ML are both naive. Well, maybe this is because I don’t have patience but this book is a 'no' from me.

It's well written interselllar w no mecha exaggeration nor face slapping overdose. Obviously, it's not perfect, but it's good enough for me to binge its 300+ chs in just 3 days. It feels like reading a shounen with a bit (alot) of yaoi.

Overall

This felt like a long running shounen adventure kinda story in terms of what the characters encountered, only with yaoi too. And much less obsessed with individual fights all the time. It wasn't what I thought it would be, good or bad as it is. The story felt a little random, I admit, because I thought this would be a weak-to-strong mecha fighting story lol. But this wasn't that. At the first arc, I thought it... more>> would be a weak to strong mecha builder story but after some arcs, this wasn't the focus either ahaha. By the end ish, this kinda felt like a less depressing Gundam story lol. I love the variety in what the characters did and experienced but the story overall did not feel that perfectly planned out and very tight.

Writing/Translation: 3.5/5

The translation I read is from Exiled Rebels Scanlastions. The translation is definitely above average, especially with all the mecha and interstellar terms used. But, not sure if it's the writing or if it's a translation issue but there were quite a few times where the events didn't quite make sense, like they skipped a clarifying couple of sentences. After reading ⅓ of the way, I realise that sometimes the order of peoples reaction to something that just happened feels off. For example, a crowd followed the MC into the meeting room of his teacher, his older disciple and his teacher’s rival and their disciple. The scene after the MC entered the room, closed the door and sat down, some rival dissing was done. Then, kinda randomly, the older brother disciple noticed the crowd that followed behind the MC and strongly advised the MC to be careful. The reaction to the crowd was too delayed. I had already completely forgotten that a crowd was following after the MC by then. I was confused and immediately felt like I missed a paragraph because I kept thinking, what crowd?

Pacing: 3.5/5

Since this is so long, there are parts that feel too glossed over and short. The story also has a tendency to be weirdly blasé about supposedly big things that just happened and just gloss over them. Like the MC's first time fighting in a mecha against a minor villain. After such detailed and long training, the actual fight was super short and ended very fast compared to the detailed buildup. This happens a lot. Particularly the last arc. There was a lot of glossing over before the final mystery.

Plot: 3.7/5

It started out as a just-transmigrated guy with zero useful memories trying to survive who got forced into a s*ave contract with a hateful bully, the ML, and learned how to build mecha while going to mecha college. Then we have all kinds of adventures that don't involve school but the interstellar setting which adds to the world. While growing the romance. And also finding the mystery of his bloodline and other conspiracies.

However, there are some plotlines that seemed important but weren't. Like the whole mecha warrior and mecha maker partnership. It is a contract and seemed like a big deal but it wasn't really touched upon after it was made. Also, the whole sacred blood bond and s*ave contract. I wish they had told it more clearly. What is it? How is it done? Who can do it? Is it normal for everyone to do it or just the royal family? It seems like there are other weaker contracts but it wasn't explained. I'd also like to know what's up with the badass queen and his backstory. There was some mystery there but it wasn't explained. Same with the MC’s biological dad. What's his story lol. I also wanted a more satisfying fighting arc for the MC. We know he likes mecha and that he went into mecha manufacturing because he wants to fight in one eventually. And there was a whole arc about him training to fight in one. And another arc of him in a tournament. But then he never advanced anymore, even though his level was only okay.

Romance: 3.3/5

The romance is iffy for me. The ML got more likeable like 10+ chapters through but his self entitlement and born arrogance are still not exactly a pleasure to read about. However, despite his flaws, I can tell the ML really loves the MC and just has a tsundere way to show it most of the time. There was also lots of self-entitlement for s*x, regardless of how the MC thought about it. However, we can see that the MC finds the ML sexy and wants to do the dirty as well. So it's not too one sided towards the ML’s side.

Setting/Worldbuilding: 4/5

In terms of the interstellar environment, it is pretty good. It's long so there is a lot to display. Lots of variety and new events that happen to keep things fresh. All the concepts introduced are also cool, although I wish it fully focused on the mecha making the entire way haha. The mecha manufacturing was interesting with what it showed. It's only that the more he learned, the less detailed it got. The MC also had a stint of training to fight in a mecha for an arc. But after that, he doesn't focus on fighting anymore, which is a shame. There is a lot of travel to other planets, each with its own environment. Some are explored, some are just brushed through.

Characters: 4/5

The main characters are pretty interesting. The ML is a tsundere with personality hahaha. His type of character is new to me so it was interesting to read him. Although I don't like quite a bit about him, I do like his good points, which are that he really does love the MC and is very loyal to him. It was a tad predictable to figure out his background but it also added a lot of things to the story.

I also rather like the MC. He's skilled and hardworking. I also like reading his inner monologue hahaha. It immediately made him relatable and closer to being invested in. My only gripe is that he folded to the ML too easily and catered to him too fast.

There is a big cast of side characters in the story. All are quite distinct with their own personalities and backgrounds. I always wish we would get to know and bond more with the characters but this one is not too bad. We see them having some conflict and usually the MC can help them directly or indirectly. So they do add to the story.

Personal Enjoyment: 3.9/5

It was better than average, has lots of different situations to keep my interest, I found the interstellar setting interesting because I don't usually read something like this and liked all the gradual levelling up in mecha manufacturing. I also liked the MC. And the story is long which is very good haha.

I approached this novel just like I do any others. Wait for the ‘why’. And Mecha s*ave Contract delivered. By the end of the novel, I understood all the ‘whys’ and absolutely loved the character development it took to get me there.

Luo XiaoLou is such a strong character. He starts out how most of us do in life. Unsure. Stumbling. Afraid. But by the end of the book, he’s become someone I would want to be if I transmigrated. An unstoppable force in his field and in his life.

And while... more>> I had reservations about Yuan Xi, I waited. And over time, his story was the most revealing of ‘why’s’. He managed to take what he was dealt and still create a solid love story with Luo XiaoLou.

I will read this one again. And, if anyone creates prints for the artwork at the beginning of each section, I would definitely purchase them.

I agree with 4.0 average rating. I rarely do that because sometimes those ratings don't really reflect the actual novel, but this one is. However, I do need to add a note as this one is a solid 4.0 star novel. I mean, the content is deeper, unlike most novel with the same avg rating out there which usually just focus in one direction or has plot which only scratches the surface. Or in other words, some novels have high ratings because there's nothing to complain about (we can't complain... more>> if, for example, the characters' growth or plot complexity doesn't exist).

Totally agree with translator's review/comment. This one has deeper plot and world-building. Also even though MC is OP, he starts from zero, literally. I won't say much about the plot and the world-building because we need to experience it ourselves :)

The drawback is the characters. Yes, plural.

First, MC and ML. Honestly, I do agree they like and adore each other. But to the point of sacrificing for each other, aka deep love, hmm I'm not so sure. MC's love feels more like because he's too dependent on ML and kind of baby chick imprints the first person it saw as its mother (in MC's case: imprints the first person he got close in his new life as his lover). As for ML, the way he love MC feels more like novelty and obsession. It becomes clearer in the last 100 chapters, which quite diminished my enjoyment of reading this novel. Why? Because it feels weird and looks like a farce in my opinion. But it might be my personal problem only.

I have a say for ML's character. He is domineering + arrogant also awkward + cute. I never thought I would feel this kind of combination as... perfect and seamless. Two thumbs up for author for creating this unique but not weird ML.

As for other characters, their biographies are only half-done..

Although it can be categorized as plot hole, but somehow I think it's because author doesn't make the side characters' profile... Another reason is the main plot is actually quite complete. In other words, it's like author put the characters for shadowing, but after they're used in the plot they're forgotten.

Another character flaw: the women who like ML are brain-dead. ML has many suitors, even after everyone knows he is married. And this setting is... too much. As for the men who like ML, I think there are two. Not brain-dead 'tho.

Then, there're these extras. They're good and kinda negates the weird feel I said in fourth paragraph. But why focus so much on MC and ML??? :' (. I think a little bit of the side couples and other characters' stories are better... I don't need much, just one or two chapters T^T. <<less

I really enjoyed that book! The plot is not easily guessed from the beginning! Their family members and friends interactions is also great. The little buns are really cute too. The only thing that I disliked about the whole novel is how the gong "action / show of love / jealousy " lead to undeserved mistriment of the poor shou! But over whole their relationship is still very pleasant and touching (unwilling to part from each other no matter the obstacle that they have to overcome).

Smuggled this novel into my chamber 😝 The more this novel progress, the more I love it. I have been bored to death before reading this, lol, then I remembered the novel in my reading list and the rest is history. I've been binge reading this novel until almost not sleeping. I really like the characters, and the structuring.
