Ji Yuze, a son of the Ji family, appeared elegant and noble, admired by everyone as the refined Mr. Ji.

The system informed Fu Yue that to return to her world, she must conquer the target character, Ji Yuze, the supporting male lead in the novel.

To win over Ji Yuze, Fu Yue used all her skills and methods. She tried subtle seduction as well as blatant flirtation, but nothing seemed to work, and she became somewhat discouraged.

One day, the system suddenly appeared and informed Fu Yue that due to a bug, the previously designated target character was wrong.

Actually, the person she needed to conquer was Lu Shaoci, the original sixth male lead who had always had a favorable impression of her, not Ji Yuze.

Soon after Fu Yue learned that she needed to change her target, Lu Shaoci invited her to visit the night lantern festival in the capital. After some consideration and with her own plans in mind, she agreed.

But Lu Shaoci waited the whole night and she never showed up.

That night, Fu Yue weakly watched the chain sway back and forth, her fingertips slightly pale, her head throbbing.

Ji Yuze’s breath was warm, scorching her body and mind, his tone gentle: “The person you like should be me…”

Then he suddenly smiled: “Isn’t that right?”

Fu Yue smelled the magnolia fragrance on Ji Yuze, feeling even dizzier.

The ML is yandere, so you should know what to expect: an extremely possessive and borderline psychopath man who very slowly learns what love is.

The ML lost his hearing at 6 years old but the author probably regretted or forgot about it, so the fact that he is deaf is pointless, he is always perfectly able to speak and have long conversation with the MC. The author tries to justify it by saying he is able to read the lips and from time to time to hear some sounds, but... more>> it's not enough for a deaf person to use his voice and understand what someone else is saying as if he can really hear. Then again, if the author didn't want to deal with a character with a disability, why write one?

The relationship between the lead develops because the MC is forced by the system to conquer his heart or marry him, and he quickly becomes possessive of her. There is too much kissing and too many s*x scenes for my taste, but it's definitely subjective.

Although the setting of the novel is historical and the two leads come from different families with a middle/high noble background, they spend so much time together, alone, often at nighttime sleeping in the same room, and no one ever notices or bats an eye.

To add something to the plot, there are a couple of investigation about mu*ders in the city but they are not particularly engaging and serve only to stretch the thin plot.

I like the MC because she is very determined in fulfilling her mission and going home. Even if she is often afraid of the weird ML, she stays positive and perseveres despite it all.

Last complaint, I don't understand what was the role of the other man Luo Shaoci, it's almost difficult to consider him a second male lead. He instantly falls in love with the MC but appears little in the novel and never stands a chance. In the end,

Utterly ridiculous lol. I love a good possessive ML but not a certified crazy person sorry. Nothing he did or said was endearing enough to forget how crazy he really was. He wasn't charming, he seemed more like a mentally repressed fool. The FL seemed like she developed stockholm syndrome after a while.

Skipped multiple chapters and the "plot" was still ridiculous. Read at your own risk

The premise was so good that I was excited to start reading

However, it just plain, I skip so many chapters. ML was certified crazy Yandere

Honestly, I think the crime and detective plot are unnecessary at all, it so confusing, I skip those and go straight to the f*cked romance.

The premise of the story have so much potential but it was executed so poorly. Everything was poor from the pacing down to the character development. Not to mention all the side characters are just paper characters, they don't add to anything. Completely irrelevant to the story no matter how much the author tries to put some weight to them.

Was full of angst, sure it had a "HE", but both ML and FL were tortured. There are no beautiful memories, no romantic sweetness, just fear and angst over and over and over

It was a pain to finish. I skipped so many paragraphs, but just kept going to see how it was going to end. The narration was disjointed and a lot of text seems to have been skipped (maybe it's the translation being faulty).

in MY opinion this story is so good, literally one of the best cn ive read. The male is really crazy and creepy in a good ish way idk😭 but I like how the author didn't make him an unnecessary rude yandere that treats the FL like shit. He treats her good and is always nice to her, he's very patient. One of the best yandere ML I fear. I like how he's very obedient. She's also one of the best female leads in my opinion. She tries her best... more>> to finish her mission while dealing with the ml. She also falls in love with the ML but she denies it so she can finish her mission. I think both of them plays their part well and I'm so glad they have a HE cuz tbh they both deserve it. I feel really bad for the ML tho (his childhood). But both of the ML & FL balances each other out which I really like. But like the other review even tho Lu Shaoci is the sec ml, he barely shows up. I don't even understand how he fell for her when they only met like a couple times and she saves him like once but idrc cuz he's irrelevant but it just doesn't make sense for me but aside from that this story is good. <<less

it was good!! The ML (Ji Yuze) is really yandere and clingy. I like his character, like pretty, gentle, scholar type, his descriptions are like drescripting a female 😭😭😭 even the FL (Fu Yue) didn't got that much of compliment.

truthfully I didn't like how the story keeps going although the concept are interesting. There's so many unnessecary plot like the cases (i always skipped this part cus it didn't affect the FL and ML interactions so much), the ML being deaf are also such a joke like why makes him... more>> deaf cus it seems necessary if in the end he can read ppl lips and occassionally hear sounds T-T

the ending also abrupt and messy (why didnt just make them stay in one universe instead travelling back and forth, it really messing w the time and sounds weird cus of the inconsistence)

ohhh I hate the part when the tr*shy system makes all of the ancient characters to forget the FL completely!!!??! Like why?? Their chemistry are so good especially with Fu Yuan (the OG FL and Fu Yue sister) also Xiao Qin (the ML assisstant), they need more screentime w the FL fr

i pity the second ML more than anything cuz wydm author-nim?? He didn't deserve his ending like that. It feels like he just a stepping worthless stone to make the ML goes crazy w jealousy. He was a good sincere man and he deserve a good ending too omg, my heart ache for him. T-T ugh cry so bad cus he's really a green forest.

and btw the ML is so yandere that he's a psychopath
