First, the translation is good, it's easy to read without any issues. The plot is there, but it's a bit shallow, not very deep. The secondary characters just exist, nothing more.

For now, I've only read the first arc, which is the introduction to the novel and the part that should hook you to keep reading... I have to say that both protagonists, as well as their romance, are boring. They're not interesting together or apart. The MC is like a "pretty" vase; he doesn't really do anything, barely interacts with... more>> the world, and doesn't carry any weight in the plot. Meanwhile, the ML is like a paper tiger who wanders around aimlessly, always coming back to stare at and listen to the vase speak. If he's in a good mood, maybe, maybe he'll do something nice. Otherwise, he'll just keep staring at the vase.

The setting is interesting: after a catastrophe makes life on Earth almost impossible, some people are dragged into a horror game where they can gather resources and temporarily escape the situation. This could potentially lead to Earth's reconstruction—a good reason to keep going and work hard in the game despite the challenges. However, the MC gets hit on the head and has amnesia, and his system doesn't work properly. He's not aware of the game. Because of this, and the fact that he wakes up/starts much earlier than the other players, he integrates and adapts quickly.

As soon as MC arrives, he meets the ML and falls in insta-love, but the ML, a serious, stable, responsible adult used to these situations, sees him as just another stranger and, in a sober and realistic way, rejects him. However, two chapters later, the ML admits that he also has insta-love, does a complete 180°, and becomes obsessed with the MC. Their relationship is basically thinking the other is attractive, eating together during video calls, and... watching each other sleep?

Spoiler

By the second day, they're already a couple and living together. MC becomes a little housewife, taking care of ML and cooking. Most of the time he's cooking, and when he's not, he just disappears hahahahaha he barely gets a line of text saying he went off to edit/play or is anxious to see ML. The ML is more of a protagonist than him, especially since he's the doctor working to "find a cure" for the epidemic, the arc's central problem.

As for the players, two or three are mentioned, but that's it. They're not relevant at all. It was notable that they "transmigrated" into any native of the world, unlike the usual trope where they remain themselves (except for the MC, of course). They didn't have to be OCs either.

Honestly, the secondary character who plays the General is a thousand times more interesting. I think the story would have been better from his perspective.

Spoiler

Amid the chaos caused by the epidemic, he establishes a kind of state of emergency. It turns out that this world has been stuck in a continuous loop, and as an NPC, he became aware of it and is the one truly trying to find a solution. He knows of the players' existence and, knowing they'll become hostile later on, hunts them down. Aware that the vaccine is counterproductive, he searches for alternatives, deals with traitors and troublemakers, and maintains a rather tense relationship with the supernatural ML, who enjoys the entire situation. The General knows the truth about this world —that everyone is already dead— but still tries to save them and put an end to the loop.

[collapse]

One thing that annoyed me is how they constantly highlight the MC's beauty.

Spoiler

There's even a scene where, out of nowhere, and through a dream, the System (? shows him the original timeline and how the ML suffered. They give ML a makeover, a tragic yet beautiful villain vibe. Meanwhile, the MC is crying uncontrollably, screaming for them to stop, and smashing the screen (when his tears touch it, they cause a short circuit). Yet, even in this moment, they keep describing his long, thick eyelashes, the whiteness of his skin, how pitiful but angelically beautiful he looked, and blah blah blah. Like... what the hell? That was ridiculous and absurd! Hahahah

A better description of the beginning of the story might be: MC gets hit on the head with a meteorite, suffers amnesia, accepts weird things unquestioningly because of said amnesia and is somehow super lucky as he pursues love. Lol Not counting this as a spoiler since it's the impression of only the first two chapters.

Interesting to me is that ... more>>
Spoiler

Our MC seems to have been supposed to be a player, but something (the ml, I'm guessing based on summary) interrupted it, so MC is completely clueless. There's also the fact that I'm pretty sure as soon as MC was hit by the meteorite he shifted realities, so the "game" to the others is actually the reality he's been living for a bit already.

[collapse]

It definitely feels like Tan Xiao is playing a different game than the other players. XD Don't expect to see too much of the other players though, this is mostly fluff between the MC and ml.

Spoiler

It's a little amusing seeing ML be jealous of himself since neither MC or ML have memories of the previous arc, except maybe feelings, but I also hope that isn't a recurring theme every arc.

I wasn't sure
Spoiler

Tan Xiao would ever regain his memories, so excited to see what happens because of it
