Chai Meicen, a single mother, has a handsome son who’s a bit of a handful.

One morning, she wakes up to find herself transformed back into her sixteen-year-old self! Her beauty is still intact, she hasn’t gained a pound, and her hair is as thick and gorgeous as ever.

With ample time and money, she makes a bold decision: transfer to her son’s school and become his classmate, hoping to steer him onto the right path.

Zhou Rui fears nothing in heaven or on earth—except his mother! He’s endured countless boasts about her legendary beauty in her youth. But suddenly, those stories become reality when his mother reverts to her sixteen-year-old self. And damn, is she stunning!

After a period of adjustment, she realizes she can’t change back. On a whim, she enrolls in his school and becomes his classmate?!

As a result…

The school’s notorious bad boy, whose very name sends shivers down spines, gets a taste of his own medicine when the newly transferred school beauty slaps him and orders him to do his homework.

Under her watchful eye, Zhou Rui—with a forced smile—declares to the entire school, “From now on, I will diligently study and strive for progress every day, with the goal of becoming a scientist!”

Zhou Rui issues a final warning: “Anyone who dares to pursue her will face the same wrath as if they’d cursed me directly.”

I started this story without high expectations and I'm so glad I decided to read it! It's a really cute story with interesting characters. There isn't much suffering, but the struggles Chai Meichen went through to raise Zhou Rui were heartbreaking. I love how their mother son relationship and how they come to understand each other and do their best to protect their family. Chai Meichen gets her second chance to do everything she missed out on and does find her sweet love with the person who truly loved her... more>> no matter what. I genuinely fell in love with Huo Ranxi and how he really cared for the mother and son.

The biological father Yi Qiange was a hateable character at first with his holier than thou attitude, but I loved his character development. After all, he was a human and it's normal to make mistakes and have regrets. Not everyone has the same courage to stand up for themselves and take what they want, so I didn't blame him that much. And he really did work on trying to fix things with his son. I liked how the author didn't villainize him and he had a decent relationship with Huo Ranxi.

Overall I recommend this story if you enjoy fluffy novels! This one isn't boring like some of the others, as there are multiple entertaining characters and it does touch on some bad parenting stories. I wish there were more extras for Zhang Ruicheng. <<less

A heartwarming healing story.

The characters aren't perfect, they have their own flaws as hey have their own merits.

A mother going to school with her son didn't turn out as cringey as I thought. (An assumption left behind by a bad novel with similar setting) Mainly because mother and son got along like bros (???given their same-age appearance). Fr. The schoolmates misunderstanding them as a couple at the beginning because of their closeness was just as similarly cringey as strangers misunderstanding siblings as lovers but understandable. It actually happens pretty often... more>> irl until they know you're related.

First few chapters of mother and son interaction can be kind of frustrating to watch cause she's not the perfect mother people would want but a normal first time mom who tends to overthink. Same vice versa. But everyone's trying to improve.

Hou Ranxi is a great ML overflowing with dedicated love for MC even through the rough times. An understanding lover and father anyone would wish for. Really, he's my favourite just because of he's so understanding. He tried to understand everyone from their own perspective. I loved it so much. He's what I'm trying to strive to be but I'm not as cool headed as he is.

Son, Zhou Rui, is just a silly ball of sunshine. Who could ever hate him? He can be very frustrating sometimes and he's not perfect and can be real petty but doesn't change the fact that he's got a great character, this lovable puppy.

And then there's Yi Qiange. Sigh. A sigh of frustration and understanding. As much as I hate it, as someone who often realises things too late and is cowardly, I can relate. It's f*cking sad. It hurts to see him get rejected left and right cause it's like looking in a mirror but what can be done. He's not blameless. I'm just glad he's at least got dad who holds him dear (?) I guess. And very thankful for Hou Ranxi, as frustrating it may be for him, thankfully he can still be someone Yi Qiange can go to.

I would've actually given this a 5 star but I just didn't like how it turned out in the end.
Spoiler

MC didn't turn back to her original age, she stayed 17. As much as I enjoyed those times but I think a more appropriate ending would be going back to her original age and then actually improving herself from there and embracing the changes brought by the challenges she faced in her life. Yes, her "ugliness" from neglecting herself. It would make a more touching, real, and whole healing story if she had worked on self improvement from then on and learn to love herself after all those hardships instead of a version of herself before the hardships.

And then I just also want to mention he friend group because I also liked them :))) <<less
