This story is a perfect example of an unreliable narrator, and it really is such fun watching MC realize that he's not as ordinary as he thinks in other people's eyes! I wondered at first why there wasn't a "protagonist falls first" tag added and after reading, I would say that while it could definitely apply to some extent, it's also not too applicable either? I personally wanted to also dig a hole and hide with MC when ML was reading his diary lol. ML really loves to tease MC and MC's reactions every time are just so unbearably cute, with his constant blushing and overthinking.

MC doesn't have any big trauma from his childhood, but he does have a lot of small experiences that have shaped his behavior down to the present day. His backstory does a really good job of explaining his current perspective on relationships and people, and he's really such an interesting character! Also to add to the lack of dog blood in this story, being gay is totally normal in this world-

SHH! I can’t get over the fact it’s too short! Anyways tons of dog food was thrown over me and I really like it! Don’t take my reciew seriously, it’s from my own opinion and I really like how YanXiaoming is so thoughtful about MaiDong but still I know for you atleast if you read this, it has a little bit of shortcomings but for me, unless it’s sweet and fluffy, I reconsider it.

Truly Cute and Fluffy. It's Light and really Zero Drama. No Heartache whatsoever.

But it does explained with well detailed reasons why MC has this slight Anti-sosial personality. And his reason for trying to be better after he get to know ML also wasn't invalid. It's not about the Power of Love thought. It's more how the fact knowing the reason of having ML's affection was one of steps of why he doesn't need to Make Wall anymore.

What a cute and fluffy short story! I agree with one reviewer that said the story is like snuggling on a warm bed with a fluffy blanket, well-fitting description. The author writes really well. The characters feel three dimensional especially both the leads. When reading the diary part you can clearly distinguish which one is the MC's and which one is the ML's because of how well the author portrayed both characters and their distinct style on writing the diary entries.

The story made me reflect on some things. I especially... more>> like the author words on living a life of regrets but filled with happiness since I also personally think regrets are inevitable in life.

Haha okay enough of the random reflection and more on the review. I really like the pacing not really slow but not too fast, perfect balanced. A sweet short novel, very cute and fluffy. The MC has social phobia and thinks he’s super ordinary but actually he’s not. He feels inferior to the ML so he’s never taken the initiative to talk to him even though he’s liked him for so many years. It’s nice seeing how he slowly comes out of his shell after meeting the ML and thoroughly embraces life.

Short and fluffy, the MC is definitely an unreliable narrator.

I didn't like the MC to begin with, but once you start seeing his unreliable narration, he becomes likeable.

My favourite part is probably their ambiguous pre-relationship phase.

I really love this one. The story is so simple, but because it's simple it's easy to understand the core of the story itself. It's all about 2 people who fell in love with different personalities. One is too shy and always think negatively of themselves, while the other is more outgoing and know what they needed to do to achieve his goal. But this clash of personality make the two stunning individuals who are in love with each other in the way that's mature.

Mai Dong... more>> thinks that he's this normal guy who is not seen by anyone. He had a crush with someone who is so outstanding, Yan Xuming, who is like the unattainable God existence for him. But when he learned about Yan Xuming day by day, he realized that the "image" he had of his crush was just that, an image.

Both of them are really such normal people. They have good feelings for each other and that's why he fell in love with each other. While Mai Dong is timid and pessimistic, Yan Xuming takes the lead by being courageous and push their relationship moving forward. He never push it too far, knows when he needs to take the step back, and knows when he needs to take that one step further.

It's such a delight to be able to read this novel and get this comfortable feeling all over while reading them, all the time thinking just how "normal" both Mai Dong and Yan Xuming are. This is what I love the most and maybe the thing that attracted me the most to this novel. <<less

Short, fluffy, slice-of-life university story. The MC thinks that he is just a background character compared to the popular ML. He writes a diary filled with his feelings about the ML, drops it one day, and the ML happens to picks it up.

I did like how the MC slowly gained confidence, and although he cried a few times the novel never made him seem like a weak crybaby.

There is almost no drama except for the ML's parents showing some initial resistance toward their relationship.

Highly recommend, very sweet and fluffy! Lots of thoughts about how we see others vs how we see ourselves, and how others see us. It's not always the same. MC knows he has anxiety and resolved himself to background loneliness because of it, but ML isn't as distant as the moon and really wants them all to be friends. Both characters aren't obsessed with the idea of eternal love so much as trying to be happy with the feelings they have, much more meaningful imo.

This had to have been one of the most unsatisfying BLs I've read. Whoever added that yaoi tag needs to remove it bc there was nothing even past just like 2 slightly more intense kisses. The MC here is suffering from a lot of anxiety and pessimism and self doubt and with the history of being half a stalker for years he's understandably very shy about the relationship. He's also extremely lacking in any sense of EQ and thus is super dense on emotional matters, making relationship progress difficult. I... more>> did not expect, however, the story to just end like that with the relationship basically just starting. Even the extra that I hoped would salvage things basically brought up living together platonically with nothing else. We get an unreliable narrator from the MC too, and we leave with very little knowledge about what people think of him besides just being the smart student. We literally know nothing about what he looks like besides being a "cold assassin" when he was younger. At least the couple was cute I guess, I appreciate the ML a lot. <<less
