Damn good, I'd rate it 4.5 instead of 5 but I had to round up.

The writing is pretty good, one of the OG transmigrated into a videogame villain novel.

Good characters, they act consistently with their backgrounds and experiences.

... more>> Main character is pretty good as well, I've read other reviews that say that he worries about keeping the original storyline too much but he does realize at a point that he has gone too far and there is no point in keeping it anymore.

Plus, aside from the S-Tier vessel that is Harold, he doesn't have any actual cheats that work well against the main villain, whose power is his sheer cunning.

If you're just a random guy from Japan, you're not going outsmart crazy anime Einstein anytime soon, so of course you're going to want to stick to the original storyline which you know so well. <<less

As others have noted, there is a sharp decrease in quality at the start of volume 3. Up to that point, the situations and especially the protagonist's assessment thereof are described intricately, and the reader has a very good understanding of what's going on and what the MC is thinking of it, but apparently that suddenly had to turn as mysterious as possible, with several stories of the skipped time being told from different perspectives.

It takes a bit of effort to get over that hump, but after that it remains... more>> readable and returns to the former style to a certain extent, although chapters from other perspectives seem more frequent than in the first two volumes.

However what bothers me the most, is that the content does not fit the title. There are barely any death flags, and some of the ones that are there are dealt with anticlimactically (see volume 3).

Overall it is a decent story of a protagonist who considers it convenient for the whole world to vilify him as he tries to avert the cataclysmic events in the game's story. What makes it the most interesting are the moral conflicts about the misfortunes in the game's backstory that he tries to maintain in order for the future to remain predictable.

On a slightly different note, it should be mentioned that while several heroines that were the game's harem candidates exist, this MC does not form a harem with all the heroines immediately and inexplicably falling in love with him. I personally do not mind lighthearted stories like that, but many people seem to stop reading when that happens and this story is fairly safe in that regard. <<less

So far so good! I'm enjoying the MC's journey and it's entertaining thus far, although I do want more political intrigue and follow-up on his plans from volume 1.

Umm.. I haven't read too far but my overall impressions is that the story feels really slow and aimless. It's almost kind of like the author doesn't really know what he wants to do with his story. I don't think the worlds particularly interesting. The main character isn't particularly interesting. His abilities aren't particularly interesting. It's not that funny. The misunderstandings aren't as funny as say in To Be a Power in the Shadows or I Am an Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire. The side characters aren't interesting. I... more>> just don't really get it. Plus the pace the novel goes at is quite slow. I got the impression that the author adds a lot of fluff paragraphs to expound on stuff that really doesn't matter or add anything to the story. Who knows? Maybe it gets better in the later chapters but if I haven't been hooked after 36 chapters, it's safe for me to call it quits. <<less

I feel like they should have went over more of his inner turmoil and struggles in trying to keep his head low when trying to surviving on his 'own'. They showed parts of this which I loved because I have a thing for characters with inner turmoils but they cut it short when it was getting good with a time skip. This makes the story less tear jerking than I thought it would be.

I think the novel is interesting though it is confusing at the same time.

The author tends to repeat a phrase over and over. For example, when the MC decided to do something, the reasons of doing so were repeated several times with rephrasing sentences and altering words. It makes me feel bored so sometime I have to skim through certain paragraphs to skip repetitions.

The novel is great although there are some of the familiar Japanese novels. It is pretty different in term of the characters and development. There are two version one written in multiple character pov and one in your typical 3rd person. Although the 3rd person Is okay I personally find the pov one much more enjoyable because it's makes the novel kind or unique and it gives better character development. I can only hope that someone would eventually translate the 3rd person chapter to the pov

The story is great. The only downside is that MC's split personality (or the fact that he can't control his mouth) seems to fall into the typical Japanese Tsundere Tropes, which is a big turn off for me. I can't really get behind the logic of MC not being able to control his own mouth. This novel would be 5-star if not for the split personality.

It is a good read. Instead of using a goofy MC like many other of stories of this genre have done, the author instead uses the Harold's (the MC) foul mouth to affect the game's events.

The first few chapters are too technical and Harold's mouth excessive making the chapters a chore to read, (after the first 2-3 chapters I just skimmed until the heroine appeared) but around chapter 6 or 7 the story picks up and becomes interesting. Harold's mouth mellows, and the chapters become more decisive.

If those... more>> first few chapters weren't such a struggle, I would of given this a 5/5, but they are so 4/5. <<less
