“I do not have the hobby of sharing what is mine with others.”

This was what her ex-husband spat out in response to Therese’s request for a divorce.

But how did things end up like this?

In this second chance at life, she had promised herself never to fall in love again.

Yet her ex-husband had become utterly leech-like, refusing to let go.

“I assume you like my face.”

“I’d prefer to stay where you can see me.”

“I find myself getting jealous all the time.”

He would say these nonsensical things,

but Therese had no intention of repeating her foolish past.

She knew that the only end to this hellish marriage was death.

Nevertheless, her husband’s obsession continued endlessly.

“I have not changed my mind about wanting a divorce, Your Grace.”

“You will find it hard to understand me.”

At that moment, tears started flowing down the Duke’s cheeks.

“For someone like me, there’s no room for a new love.”

The Duke whispered as his long fingers tousled Therese’s silver hair.

The tremor at his fingertips told her it was genuine.

The translation was actually pretty solid, which is the only reason I kept reading. But the novel itself? A frustrating, low-effort mess. It reads like one of those generic Chinese webnovels riddled with petty drama and low-IQ characters making nonsensical choices for the sake of “plot.” FL is given a second chance at life and every reason to despise the male lead; he literally drove her to death in the past timeline. Yet, inexplicably, she spends half her inner monologue swooning over how hot he is. Girl, he humiliated and... more>> degraded you on your wedding night, and you’re getting butterflies? Where is your self-respect?

ML is a man-child to the core. His idea of “handling” problems is saying, “I don’t want to hear it, ” while his toxic mother stirs up drama and a childhood friend openly disrespects his wife in his own house. Does he stand up for her? No. He just awkwardly suggests thry go for the meal. Like... what? Grow a pair and defend your wife or kick those clowns out.

Worse still, his attachment to the FL isn’t even based on love. He just doesn’t want to lose what he sees as “his.” It’s classic toddler-with-a-toy energy—he never cared, but now that someone else might, suddenly he’s possessive.

And the female lead? No backbone. She was a boss—literally a powerful merchant’s daughter and a respected guild leader—but throws it all away the second she gets married. For what? A man who insults her the first night and never even acknowledges his initial cruelty? Then has the audacity to ask why she changed? <<less
