It's alright, maybe even 'pretty good'. There are some good things with it, but also some non-dealbreaking things that are bad with it. For me at least, they're more numerous than the good things, which add up, but again, nothing super bad individually.

Long story short, this is a single romance between the MC, who's pretty kind and accepting, and a girl a year younger than him, who has mood-ring eyes. I can't really comment on anything GOOD about the writing or the romance, as it seems to have just gone... more>> all-in on the eye thing. Nothing bad, nothing good. As for the bad things... well, I have a couple of issues.

One, they're SUPER young, like he's a first year MIDDLE school student, and she's an elementary student. So no, there's no age gap issues (it's a year), but it's the fact they're freaking super young to begin with, and two, they INSTANTLY fall in love at first sight. I hate to be that guy, but love-at-first-sight is such a Disney thing, and it's something that Disney has even abandoned. So yeah, it's awkward and I can't really support it nor like it. There's a minor time-skip (once again, like half a year or something) that brings them to the level of... middle school students.

As for the personalities of the main pair, apparently the girl is kind of a bi*ch to everyone but the MC due to being bullied because she's too pretty and has mood-ring eyes. When it comes to the MC, she's instantly in love with him as noted, and is also VERY possessive. A ELEMENTARY SCHOOLER is possessive. As for the guy, he's... well, dense and childish. I actually feel he's written very well; he's a young boy who's just discovered feelings (lol), is past the 'girls have cooties' phase, but has no idea what to do with either his feelings or this girl (both are slightly terrifying to him lol). So honestly, he gets a pass from the 'well written' department, but that doesn't mean that's what I want to read.

Also, and I feel this bears mentioning: MC has a younger sister (same year as FMC), and MC's friend is the FMC's older brother. (If that was confusing, it's older brothers - same year, younger sisters - same year). But the story seems to be having the other pair also hook up? Just kind of weird to have the younger sister be crushing on his friend 'cause he's hot, and then they may be pairing off?

In any case, it seems to be a case of 'girls mature faster' and virtually all of the plot is driven by the younger sisters doing something to help set up the main couple. The MC is very passive, and the FMC is incredibly possessive and starts everything. (or the younger sister 'acts as a wingman' by trying to take out his friend and leave them alone... which I'm sure has no underlying meaning, of course of course)

Anyway, I'm only 24 chapters in, but this absolutely toddler cast is killing it for me. Hard for me to rate it properly, but considering how there either has to be a time skip (in which case any relationship progress would either be skipped -unlikely-, or there will be a unnatural pause where nothing happens). It's just weird that they're so young! (yes, I know, I can't get over this. Sorry!) <<less
