I've enjoyed what I've read so far! There are several points that I like about this story, especially the characters.

But if you don't want to read my full review, here is a condensed version:

• • The characters are great, and the progression of main couple's relationship from slightly hostile (from FL's side) to mutual liking is a joy to read. It isn't smooth sailing, but they actually communicate with each other!

• • Also, the plot so far is quite interesting and engaging. Enough mystery to be intriguing without being convoluted.

• • The translation is weak. There are times where genders are mixed and sentences are confusing. However, I've become proficient at deciphering second-rate translation so it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the story. I suspect this is where most of the bad ratings come from.

• • All in all, I really recommend this novel! I liked it, and I think more people should give it a chance!

Now, I'd like to talk about the story in depth.

As I've said above, the characters are great! Not every character acts in a sensible way, but they act in ways that makes sense for them as a character and as a human who grew up in that kind of environment, i.e. an alternate ancient China.

The MC might act a bit harsh to FL in the beginning. However, it makes sense considering the situation and she was in a hurry to marry her as well. Also, even MC's 'harshness' isn't too harsh, and she's still kind and considerate to FL. After their marriage--which happens pretty early on--MC becomes even kinder and considerate.

MC isn't super smart or OP. But you can tell she is a powerful person with schemes of her own and she is indeed worthy of the title Crown Prince.

FL is a bit more hostile towards MC because she thinks MC is an irresponsible person who left her and her child alone after that night together. But she warms up to MC in the end. I can't hear her voice, but I feel like the tone she says "Husband" changes after a certain point hehe

The thing I like the most about the couple is how they always talk to each other and communicate. Of course, there are misunderstandings, and they may not talk about it immediately. However, they will talk about it eventually. For example:

MC and FL's kid. A huge plot point of the story is who imp**gnated FL. Is it MC or MC's twin brother? When things start coming into light and misunderstanding arose, they actually talked to each other to discuss the matter.

I will say though. FL's reaction towards finding out MC is a woman makes a lot of sense.

As for the plot, I like how it's currently going. There is a bit of palace intrigue, and I'm interested in how MC will deal with her twin brother.

Also, because of the translation, the familial relations of the royal family is a bit hard to understand. Here's a cheat sheet to know who is who:

The 'how can they have a child if they're both women' plot has yet to been explained at ch29, but honestly, no matter what explanation the author gives, I will be fine with it. After all, even the characters are very baffled by how it happened haha

People who can't stand badly translated text should avoid this, however. It can be quite confusing to read. But if you can withstand the second rate translation, it's a good story!

Again, I recommend this story!
