Chi Wen’s short life has been bumpy. Ever since he could remember things, he was already living in the orphanage, growing up without a family. Later, he entered the entertainment industry and became a first generation film emperor. However, he finally ended up in ruin. In the end, Chi Wen jumped off the top floor of a building, but did not expect that he would get a chance to open his eyes again…

Back to his infancy, Chi Wen coldly looked at the woman who was laughing s*upidly in front of him. He waited, waited until the moment she finally abandoned him.

Fu Yunruo was transmigrated as the cannon fodder in the novel ‘First Generation Movie Queen.’ When she first transmigrated, it happened to be the plot point when the malicious cannon fodder tried to frame the female lead for the last time. After that, her evil deeds would be exposed. The whole netizens mocked, and her father angrily drove her out of the house. A former wealthy and pampered young miss fall into the mud and finally died after accidentally falling into the water…

Because of the high popularity of the original book, the author used the daughter of the original female and male lead as the protagonist for the second book. The villain who had been against the main couple of this sequel also met his just end and died tragically. After his death, the female lead let out some vague words that made readers speculated that this villain was the illegitimate son of the prequel’s cannon fodder.

After recalling the plot, Fu Yunruo stared at the pregnancy report in her hand. She was torn: should she give birth or not?

This novel is really satisfying for those who are bothered by the entertainment circle cliches. It has a warm, hopeful feeling thanks to the kindness MC receives and her found family.

The plot is good and well structured, it flows nicely enough. The romance is a subplot at best but the mother-son relationship is so wholesome that it is all balanced out. Most characters aren't one-dimensional and their actions actually make sense. I'm pleased by the actions of the MC when she transmigrated, apart from accepting the loss of her former... more>> world's family too easily. This isn't an OP MC, it gets somewhat boring at times when the transmigrated soul is so confident about outsmarting and defeating all her enemies. I'd probably do the same this MC did, run like hell to avoid death and do my best to live a peaceful life while gathering some resources.
Spoiler

I also loved the way MC didn't end up as an actress! Live-streaming and being a botanist is so fitting for her!

[collapse]

I'm very happy with the character of the reborn son, he's so tsundere as a newborn baby and their mother-son relationship is so heart-warming. We get to read his thoughts often and it adds a lot to the novel. He totally becomes the best momma's boy once he realises his mother didn't mean to abandon him (
Spoiler

even though maybe she did? I'm sure it wasn't out of lack of care but the original Fu Yunruo's soul died when he was around two years old and the extra chapter did mention he was left in the orphanage before he turned a year old. Maybe she thought there was no other way out for him since she was in danger. Of course, current transmigrated MC would have never left him

[collapse]
. I felt really good about the way this novel handles the family dynamics, it avoids the common failure of most such novels where the baby is totally dropped or forgotten (with nanny, school, grandparents, etc) to focus on mommy's career or romance. Truly, the closest mother-son relationship I've read in a chinese novel.

I'm only unhappy with 3 things:

1.) The villains are so s*upid it's truly impressive. Ori-FL and Ori-ML are totally brain-dead and they simply can't help themselves from charging to bother MC every single time despite of the danger. I expected better from a green tea stepsister who was able to keep such a flawless innocent act for so many years.

2.) The ML's background is too OP. I don't hate it but it feels rather unnecessary when it it brought up. Both MC and ML had good enough careers. The way the paternity issue was handled was interesting too
Spoiler

since it turned out son had a different father in the former life and transmigrated MC had the luck of randomly jumping a hidden boss

[collapse]
.

3.) The extra chapters where the son is reborn again in the orphanage and gets revenge before waking up in the current timeline again is so... weird... really, no need for that. One rebirth is enough. <<less

The story is cute but I honestly dislike the meekness of the MC.

Also the antagonists are brain-dead. The author lowers the quality of her novel by writing characters (ex fiance, MC's father) very stup*d than a kindergarten.

Cutie family novel!!!!

Ofc the cute bunbun is the best!!! Although he does have his pride as an adult inside a child's body, he acts and enjoys being spoiled as a kid by his mum and later on his dad uwu He was a bit judgmental on the FL at first, but after knowing the reason for his abandonment in the past life, he quickly let go of his walls and absolutely adored his mom, the FL.

FL accepted herself as the mum's child from the very beginning since she was the... more>> one who conceived and gave birth to him.
Spoiler

In the previous life in the novel, the oriHost had Wenwen from another man. When FL transmigrated, she went to the wrong room and did snusnu with ML (both were drugged).

[collapse]
She was very kind and gentle as a mom to Wenwen and is also a very hardworking florist (?) that specializes in orchids.

The ML's existence wasn't too strong, but he was the one who did most of the revenge part for the FL and the bunbun. Although he is a scheming dogman, he respects FL and Wenwen's boundaries and tried to do things step-by-step. He was very considerate of their thoughts and protected and supported them behind the scenes. He even apologized to FL for touching her that night since he was a bit sober in the beginning, but he ended up falling into temptation. He's one of those great MLs who's dominant when needed be, and at the same time, knows when to admit his mistakes.

The FL and ML relationship was very subtle as FL didn't want to get married and have another child (she didn't want Wenwen to experience what oriHost experienced). The family dynamics was cute, and the side characters were lovable! No second ML/second FL here! Only b"tch OriFL and s*umbag OriML were really baaad characters.

Over-all, this novel is a pretty good way to past the time~ Buns are always cuuute~ <<less

It's another 'pregnant with someone child, run away, and raising the bun while living a new life with newly found easy cheat skill and other convenience things' plus 'conquer the netizen's heart through live streaming'. What makes it interesting for me, at least for the first half of novel, is that the son is a reborn 'villain'. I almost cry when he monologue his realization about why his mother left him alone. The mother-son duo interaction is so damn cute! And the fact that the father realizes earlier is also... more>> a plus for me.

However, despite being the title character, the dynamics of the story were divided between FL and ML (the son)... and it's out of balance, I think. Most likely because the son starts acting like real child (which the Author rationalized) but on the other hand his appearance and significant are reduced in important scenes. His past as actor and the knowledge about the antagonists did not and will not influences his mother decision (... which quite understandable since FL decided to live streaming off-face and he's still a baby) because setting. As the 'villain' son he can only monologue about his past lives without being unable to affect his mother, who doesn't need any help. This son as character is kind of... waste, plot-wise.

Then the ML start to 'shift' to the father, which makes the story proceed between FL, ML, and the now-tritagonist 'villain' son. And then I thought: what the use of this reborn villain son? I leave because the convenience becoming too convenient and everything else is too plain to continue.

Sure, based on spoiler from another reviewer, it seems he still has an important role but I expect more.

And what the hell with the AU's ending in Extra??

The writing is fairly decent but something about the story just feels off. I'm not certain how to explain it other than it feels like something is missing from the story.

The MC is Fu Yunrou, a transmigrator who takes over the host just after she has been drugged. She starts put as slightly insecure but her negative situation hardly affects her. Friendly and kind, the world seems to be paying her back by making everything happen in a good way for her. While she does put in hard work and... more>> sincerity, it is a little strange by just how well everything goes.

Spoiler

Seriously.

She manages to sleep with the ML instead of some random guy.

Then she flees and goes to the village where her original workd grandparents lived. Immediately, she finds people who are willing to help her. Eventually ending up with a really good reputation in the village.

The job she ends up with leads her to develop Orchid growing skills.

She becomes famous for live streaming the orchids.

A variety show just so happens to bring the ML back onto her life.

All the fans support her.

And never once does she consider her good luck to be abnormal.

[collapse]

The ML is Si Yue, a movie Emperor and top billed star of Apple Entertainment. A bit nonexistent at first, his arrival in the story isn't until the MC has created a stable life for her and her sons. Mostly well meaning, he is a bit manipulative and immediately knew the MC's son was his so he began his quest to win them over.

Spoiler

He is also the head of the Si family which owns an international conglomerate that practically wrecks the original-ML's company.

[collapse]

There isn't anything overly awe-inspiring in the story as we follow the MC's journey from runaway to becoming the unofficial Si Madam (they get married in the side stories). Mostly it is about her son accepting the truth about his mother and finally just accepting his father.

The antagonists feel mostly ineffectual but there are some moments which make it clear the Author decided to drop their IQ.

Spoiler

Like when one person orchestrates the attempted mu*der of the MC's son. Not sure why anyone would ever think trying to kill a child actor on set is a good plan but here we are.

[collapse]

The ending was pretty fitting. While we don't see what fully happens to the original couple, we are shown enough to feel like the got their just rewards. Plus the side stories actually flesh things out further.

Spoiler

Such as the wedding but more interesting is how the Ori-Yunruo's stepsister dumped the original ML to become a mistress, abandoning her daughter and driving him to become an abusive alcoholic.

Her daughter even attempts to make a scandal with the MC's son but ends up getting blacklisted.

[collapse]

Overall, I do recommend this but don't expect it to be a thought provoking read. The interactions between the main characters are just pure fluff and entertainment. <<less

This novel revolves around the family and friends of the FL and her reincarnated son. I can't remember if there was even smooching between the FL and ML, if there was, it was fade to black.

Good read overall. The plot was solid but just mostly family drama.

Amazing translation quality as always from aerialrain. Kudos!

If you are confused about ML’s relationship with the baby, let me share what I understand:

Spoiler

In current timeline, ML is the biological father. MC was drugged, tried to escape, and ran into him. In the original story, ML is not the biological father because the ori!FL did not manage to escape from being plotted against.

This novel is not romance-centric but you can see traces of it throughout. It is mainly fluff and family.

I like how the FL, ML and the baby interacts. I laughed very much. I am envious of their family.

CW was presented beautifully with a mindset of an adult in a child's body. He wasn't strange or weird due to what time travel. Some novels write characters like this and it feels like people should be suspicious.

I also like the extras.... more>>
Spoiler

Chi Wen came back to original timeline and changed his fate.

There is also the short story about what happened to the novel!FYR and how she is faring in the other world

I think it's kinda love it or hate it novel. Still recommend you to try. Maybe wait until the translation is done before you get started.

In the beginning it was so cute (took me years to read until 58 I do think the translation is very slow until it's kinda losing its charm), up until 58 still OK I think.

There are parts that I dislike. I do not read between the lines so much like other reviews but I do think MC is very fortunate. Whoever becomes her will survive... more>> seriously.

All other reviews are valid. It is whether or not you care about those aspects or not. If you do, you may not like it. Say the childish behavior of wenwen, I don't really care if it is reasonable or not because it is quite cute. I cannot say much about the second half of the story since I am still at CH58 at the mercy of the translators who are extremely SLOW.

If you like a light novel (it's not that I don't like heavy drama novel. If I happen to click on it, I might got hooked and finished it. But I rather stay away from those), you should give it a try. It is enjoyable while it lasts though. <<less

I really really like the characters in this novel, Wenwen is ABSOLUTELY adorable, the FL is cool-headed and smart, and even the ML who I expected to be domineering and obsessive is actually respectful to the FL and even has his hilarious moments. There is no misunderstandings between the leads, they are ACTUALLY mature and smart adults. Plus the comments of the netizens in the novel are so funny I LOVE IT

I like how Wenwen isn't an OP child genius who acts like an adult just because he's reborn.... more>> In fact I find his childishness more realistic, reborn or not, you're still in the body of a CHILD, biological functions is still going to make feel and act like one. It was nice reading about a reincarnator that acts his age, but retains the understanding of an adult. Way more realistic than those child geniuses that can hack and set up businesses yet the adults around them seem to think it's normal??

However one flaw of the novel would be that I literally have no idea when the ML fell in love with the FL. There were no signs, we first found out about it when another character mentioned it, so there wasn't really a satisfaction of knowing when and how ML actually started to fall in love. The development of their relationship was ok— I like how the ML gave the FL time to accept him, but I just couldnt find the moment when he realised he loved her. Plus the first meeting of the FL and ML was glossed over, but that was probably the intention of the author to not put too much emphasis on the past since the FL has moved on.

Could have been better in its execution, but overall a cute story with a heartwarming portrayal of relationships (not just between our leads, but also with the supporting characters) <<less

The thing I love about this book is the relationship between FL, son and the villagers. Some parts of dialogue between ML and son are hilarious too. The first half of this book is good but the second half became so mundane that it started to get boring. The romance is sooooo slow and I seriously can't feel any sparks between the FL and ML.

Best story I've read in a long time. Thanks for translating. This is a book for relaxing and de-stressing. Very sweet and touching story about a mother who really shows great care for her son and a son with a hilarious inner self. I really like the part where Wen Wen idolizes his father when he didn't know that Si Yue is his father. But when he gets behind the secret, he scorns Si Yue for being his father with the aim to protect his naive and helpless mother from... more>> his nasty father. That is so damn cute. There is drama, but the villains get their fair share of face slapping, and as a reader one finishes the book satisfied. Overall, a round story with some great characters who are worth your time to read. <<less

I adore this wholeheartedly although the translation that I read was not as well written or coherent as the one here (but it was completed and I really am impatient). I find it a little odd but understandable that the son seems to regress, the moment he accepts his mother its like he stops trying to fight against the 'child' mindset. So a little odd but I like to think of it as if his soul is properly merging so he has memories but still has to manage a child's... more>> attention span and insecurities. Though he has become more and more of a mama's boy. His last life trauma making him a walking attachment disorder

Edit: chapter 122 THESE GRANDPARENTS ARE ADORABLE where have you been for the last 100 chapters T-T <<less

Even though it has the same old plot as many other novels, this one stands out. Both mom and son are reborn, but the mother is another person with the same name and the son came back as a baby. She's matured and hardworking, she immediately takes the baby as her own and loves him deeply. The reborn son is full of grievances and despise her because he's sure she's going to abandon him like she did in the his other life, but eventually came to love her to death... more>> when he found out the truth about why she left, this part was the saddest (and the only one) of the novel. The romance is suuuuuuper slow, almost at the end of the novel and there aren't many romantic situations, but is still very sweet. The revenge was finely resolved thanks to the help of the ML, so it was very satisfying. There are many funny moments between father and son, and super sweet moments with the mother. Wen Wen is an adult in a child's body, but even then he learnt to relax and live his childhood fully, something he didn't have the chance to in his first life. The end is kind of abrupt, I'd like to read more about other situations in the novel, I feel very sad about the FL's father, she wasn't the original so she didn't have it in her to forgive him, but I'm sure that the original would have do it. <<less

(MTL) Generally a fairly chill and heartwarming novel. Sure, there's the revenge and dog-blood drama arcs in the middle and end, but honestly, they were kinda plain. I personally didn't feel much emotion (anger, resentment, sympathy) for any of the characters that I would normally feel for other similar novels. *Shrug* Romance was slow-paced and plain, but it was definitely heartwarming. Overall, read this if you want to relax and enjoy fluff.

This story was such a clear stream of water. Well, the stream transformed into a lake at the end but no biggie. (By that I mean that the plot kinda saturated at that point)

The FL is such a kind lady, she gives me that "ara~ ara~ kind okaa-sama" vibes if you know.

Little baby Wen Wen it's a baby tsundere, I hate babies in reality but I love them 2D lol.

... more>> ML is not pushy. He wants to take it slow and mostly helps them with the guise of a friend.

The love and support that FL receives from everyone helping her really makes me want to spam those cats blasting sparkling hearts emojis stickers everywhere.

Spoiler

Tho I really like the story, there're many parts where things are just left out of the picture.

i.e.

FL's father got no redemption arc, only a regret one.

No marriage in the end. But the still end up together as bf and gf.

We don't meet ML's full family.

ML wanted to retire but I wanted to see the fans reactions too. I thought that was going to be the logical introduction to ML's background to the world.

I wanted to see my baby Wan Wan grow up.

I couldn't take it anymore.

It started off with a bang and I was all in, cheering for it like it was my favorite underdog team. But somewhere around the halfway point, it started dragging. No, scratch that. It was dragging before we even hit the halfway mark.

The beginning was pretty sweet; the pacing was just right. Our female lead came in with all the right vibes: kind, good-hearted, and a strong independent woman. And don't even get me started on her adorable son. There were so many cute moments I... more>> was practically melting into a puddle of "aww."

Now, I'm all about a good revenge story, but this one made a point of not being obsessed with it. I respect that it's refreshing. But oh boy, the pacing took a nosedive from bunny-hopping excitement to turtle-paced snooze fest. And splitting the chapters into multiple parts? Really didn't do it any favors.

I actually didn't mind the chapter splitting but you could almost feel the author's enthusiasm tanking as the story went on. So, my motivation to read it tanked as well. Overall, I just don't have the stamina to slog through it anymore and I unfortunately can't say if the characters managed to keep their mojo.

To sum it up, the story went from a rollercoaster to a merry-go-round, and not in a fun way. It had so much promise, but ended up being a major letdown. Such a shame! <<less

Overall it's slow, light hearted book..

The son, remembers his previous life but the mother is already transmigrated into a different person. For the most part it's a cute simple book about how the son grows up and how the family bonds. The kid, ML and FL are all OP and everything lines up pretty smoothly but it's not annoyingly over the top.

It is worth the time to read if you are looking to read some easy going, slice of life story with a bit of drama here and there. It's mainly focused on cub raising but the bit of romance between ML and FL that is sprinkled is also very good. Chi wen and ogowners past life experiences makes you feel heartache and crying. What I specially think is the main attraction in the novel is the mother-child relationship between chi wen and the FL. It really feels like a genuine... more>> bond rather than the typical mother-son transmigration stories written where although female lead says that they treat the orginal owner's child as her own but we can catch on hints that they actually don't treat them that sincerely. Here the bond between FL and her son is like a real world mother and child, which I think is the highest compliment because only a mother can love her child so much. The maternal love and child's innocence and dependence on mother is very much the solid base which makes this story captivating.

Spoiler ahead:

Spoiler

The part I felt the most cute is when chi wen was a baby and his cute antics while he thinks of himself as an adult but can't stop the influence of being baby, it's so heartwarming and cute. Just constantly going awwww
