Chi Wen’s short life has been bumpy. Ever since he could remember things, he was already living in the orphanage, growing up without a family. Later, he entered the entertainment industry and became a first generation film emperor. However, he finally ended up in ruin. In the end, Chi Wen jumped off the top floor of a building, but did not expect that he would get a chance to open his eyes again…

Back to his infancy, Chi Wen coldly looked at the woman who was laughing s*upidly in front of him. He waited, waited until the moment she finally abandoned him.

Fu Yunruo was transmigrated as the cannon fodder in the novel ‘First Generation Movie Queen.’ When she first transmigrated, it happened to be the plot point when the malicious cannon fodder tried to frame the female lead for the last time. After that, her evil deeds would be exposed. The whole netizens mocked, and her father angrily drove her out of the house. A former wealthy and pampered young miss fall into the mud and finally died after accidentally falling into the water…

Because of the high popularity of the original book, the author used the daughter of the original female and male lead as the protagonist for the second book. The villain who had been against the main couple of this sequel also met his just end and died tragically. After his death, the female lead let out some vague words that made readers speculated that this villain was the illegitimate son of the prequel’s cannon fodder.

After recalling the plot, Fu Yunruo stared at the pregnancy report in her hand. She was torn: should she give birth or not?

I LOVE THIS! All of it from the fact that wenwen is an adult in a child's body (therefore its not cringy and wierd to have the child thinking like an adult) and to the slow romance! Literaly my cup of tea <3

I also love the fact that the FL and the ogFL both have their happy endings. I cried reading the extra with the ogFL finally getting the love she deserved. I love her so much.

I really liked the setup and the misunderstandings the son had. The mother moments were so sweet, though I couldn't help being horrified at some of the misunderstandings of child rearing. In what world do you want to wean a child into powdered milk because it's healthier? No. Breast milk is perfectly healthy as long as they want. You can start including food and whole milk, but no need to switch to powdered formula. And why so many toys? A baby barely needs any toys. And now with the awareness... more>> of the need for privacy and less social media for children, it's a bit shocking how quickly and easily the FL agrees to let her son be a child star. If he was not reborn, this would probably have been a recipe for disaster.

Though the ML is so overpowered, I guess he could have forced the world to bend to accommodate his child. That in a way reduced my enjoyment of the book. It became less a story about how the single mother managed to survive and reverse the villain's fate, and instead more about how the ML manages to crush all obstacles through his pampering. Which also makes the fl's ambivalence towards the ML just confusing and pretentious.

So while I liked the beginning and the resolution of the villain's anger towards the mom, and the mom's initial career development, and the lovely rural town, I couldn't handle the end. Maybe I'll come back at some point and finish it. But for now, I'll just focus on how sweet the beginning was. <<less

I just love it.

Not the best in terms of romance, but this story is full of hope, courage and positivity. No drama or angst.

The best part is the love between the mother and the child. The whole story revolves around the child, the Mom being the second lead. The composition and translation are both excellent - so vivid that you could visualize the super adorable child and his comedic moments.

... more>> The romance part was a bit dull - guess the author needs to improvise here.

My most memorable part would be when the boy learned about her mother's situation in the past life - truly heartbreaking, and the illusory dream where he found out about his parallel parentage. Other than these 2 arcs the full story is overly sweet.

Thanks to aerialrain for completing the story. <<less

Love it! It does feel a little slow sometimes, but a lot of those are also cute mom/son moments so I didn’t really care. I do like that even though the baby remembers his past life, he does end up acting like a kid and not some super genius. He has the memories but the baby/kid brain stops him from always acting like an adult.

I do admit that romance wise, the beginning is a little unusual. At one point the ML says “I love you” but we didn’t see a... more>> whole lot of why he loves her. It shows a lot more after they get together, but that first confession was weird.

Overall, you’ll see a lot more love between mom and son than romance in this story. Which I love so I have no complaints there. <<less

Would read again! Good story with a good flow. This protagonist doesn't have a golden finger nor does everything come easy to her. She is sincere and the people in her life all love her for it. Yes she's pretty but her real charm is she's so warm and genuine.

This story is fluffy. Her son is adorable, especially when he's so wary of trusting her. I love having a cranky grown man having to deal with getting his cheeks pinched since he's a baby/toddler.

Its worth the read. The story is... more>> as engaging as it is fluffy.

And the side stories were surprisingly good. I usually get bored with side stories but they were a refreshing change of pace. <<less

4.2 I want to be salty.. 4.2 is for whole novel, for me I do feel mc-ML relationship was drag too long and solved too fast, the love in this novel is more focusing on familial love, actually we almost doesn't know MC was moved if it not bcs she talk inside her heart when og-ML tell her that she like him (bcs she said she like si yue not og-ml) I know her personality (bcs of her experience at her previous life) was the problem, she doesn't think ML... more>> love her (although he already told her that he want to marry her) after all their love blom bcs of the feeling of making complete family for their child (so ofc she doesn't believe ml) and that kind of thing is a turn off :) and for the extra although I appreciate au to write about fu yunruo and fu wen in the another world but I feel such a shame that we doesn't had the progress of mc-ML family more like.. The daughter.. We don't even know her name :''' still it's either business or entertainment setting not became hindrance it really just stay as background and focus on daily life, face slapping just narrated and I don't find it Satisfying (bcs the problem that became focus in this novel was mc-ml-relationship) <<less

this story is mostly slice of life, and we get to see the FL raising her kid in a wholesome environment, surrounded by kind villagers who love them as their own. The child is so cute too, being the "boss" amongst the kids in the village. The kampung spirit is so endearing, with the villagers banding together against the ori FL and ML when they try to bully the fl. The ori leads are irritating, but the sharp FL never lets herself 吃亏 so I didn't feel very unhappy when... more>> reading haha. I do wish that the romance was more developed, it is very very background and only truly started in c120s, and even so it was minimal, with most of the story focusing on child rearing. Part of this story's theme is on found family (the village) , which is a trope I love <<less

Gave this a 5 star rating, but in reality it's a 4.5

I liked this, I mtl'ed it because I liked it so much and my impatient äss can't wait. This is the first novel I mtl'ed til the end. I usually wait for the translation to be finished but for this one, I couldn't wait. The plot's decent, it's kinda cliché but there isn't a story that isn't cliche anyway. The only difference between a good cliche and a bad one is how the author paces the story. Some stories... more>> just deliver one cliche after another, which makes those story unbearable, however this one was paced nicely :]

I would've loved to see the future of this little trio, like a few extra chapters but I'm glad that it ended. And it's not rushed, at least that's what it felt like, the ending didn't feel rushed.

It's decent, I enjoyed it. I finished reading this in one day and one morning xD That was how hooked I was to the development of this little family <<less

I absolutely love this novel. The MC transmigrates into a novel whereby she has a child after being drugged. OriMC was killed off by her stepsister and her son had a miserable life before dying. When MC transmigrated, she decides to change things so that they won't end the same way. As it turns out, the child is also reborn but despite being an adult, he acts like a child anyway as his mindset is also reduced to child-like. First of all, it focuses more on cute family bonding moments instead of romance. The author also concentrates alot on the reborn villain aka the little bun. The romance between MC and ML is really slow burn. I really enjoyed this story for what it was. A family oriented one with sweet moments between MC and child, ML and child, and the whole family. Things do end up a bit too easy for MC and antagonists are laughable jokes but otherwise it is still better face slapping than most novels.

Some memorable plots:

Spoiler

One of the things I enjoyed most about the novel was how independent MC is. She does not survive merely with ML's help. She is a survivor all on her own. She leaves to a new isolated area, and then does a livestream which gives her a stable salary to provide for her son. She also manages to plan her life trajectory well for Uncle Guo, her child and other people that she cares about. ML does help a little behind the scenes with his manipulation like buying the villa beside MC and all, but it is very minor compared to the strength MC has as a single mum who knows what to do to take care of her son.

[collapse]

I honestly liked the fact that ML's romance with MC was subtle as I felt this novel is more on MC's strength. I hoped for a sweeter ML but I am fine with what is given, MC deserves a good life.

I enjoyed it overall. Big focus on the child though, not so much the romance.

Spoiler

it only got a bit annoying about 2/3 in when the FL finally realizes the ML is the father. The guy does everything he can to support them and respect her wishes but she just continues to leave the man hanging. I understood her concerns initially about not knowing whether he really likes her or just wants to be close to the child, and wanting to also respect her child's feelings. However, even after the ML makes it abundantly clear he wouldn't want to marry her unless he actually likes her, and after she acknowledges that her kid relies on him and has actually accepted him as his father (his "resistance" is actually just how they get along), she just avoids progressing the relationship. Once she knew she had feelings for him too and saw how great of a father for her precious child he was, it just didn't make sense for her to be running away anymore. This didn't ruin the story for me, I just started cringing whenever the ML and FL interacted for a good 50 chapters. Only other comment is that the antagonists were on par with some of the most incomprehensible people found in Chinese webnovels. They stick to FL like gum on a shoe, but when the omnipotent ML is around you really never feel any tension in the situations they create. I did enjoy the ml's brand of face-slapping though.

In terms of the mother-child aspect, I would honestly say this is the best one that I've read so far. The author puts a lot of attention into growing the relationship between the mother and child, which does lead to other aspects of the novel not quite up to the same level of quality. The novel has a decent pacing and the plot is always moving, but again there are some scenes that stand out more than others, with some scenes only really feeling like a formality. This is more... more>> of a symptom with the genre becoming as mature as it is, the readers wouldn't want to read the same process over and over and the author wouldn't want to write it as well. Still, it is undeniable that certain aspects had been sidelined. Despite that I would still really recommend this novel. If you're a soft guy like me who gets teary eyed when characters are crying, this one is pretty good at that. <<less

Currently still at chapter 28 but I've gotta say that it was entertaining. I wasn't expecting much schemings or face slappings, knowing this is more focused on slice of life and fluff and indeed it was.

Ayy, at the pace where it is now, I just hope it continues on.

Pretty decent. It's cute but damn the FL keeps humming hawing about the guy until like the last chapter. And she's pretty soft, no revenue, just trying to avoid the annoying people which would not have solved the issue until the ML took action.

This novel was good for reading, not so boring. As a light novel it showed potential but somehow I was expecting something more than this.

Anyway, loved the characters, and family of three was so cute. Fluffy.

As you can see I'm not very good at reviewing, all I wanted to say is-I don't regret reading this and will consider reading it again when it's fully translated.

This is super great. I MTLed almost till the end, and I loved it all the way.

The reborn son/villain is a great twist on this trop, you can't help but give your heart to him, when he's a newborn and still remembers/focuses on all the hardships and loses he had in the last life.

You end up hating the family of MC, and it's great that they get their just deserts.

The MC is a great character, she's smart, capable, and brave. ML compliments her very much. I like them together.

A really fun read. There are a lot of cliches, but the heroine does not easily accept the male lead. Her IQ is online. I wish the story was longer!!

There were only 2 things that made me sad, one related to the romance and one related to the ending.

Spoiler

Maybe I'm too thirsty, but I kind of hoped it would show more of the heroine getting swept up off her feet and potentially some s*xual tension after they confirmed their relationship?? It was so wholesome <O///O>

[collapse]

Spoiler

I wish there was a '20 years later' epilogue consisting of at least 10 or more chapters. After the all-powerful plot went offline, everyone but the Cheng brother had their IQ gradually awaken. Tbh, I think even he woke up to a degree but the psychological conditioning of many years was too deep and he didn't have a shock to awaken him like Fu father... Regardless the plot is scheduled to come back online 20 years later. This would be a good chance for the author to introduce more characters, tie up loose ends, show the happy end of the child, and explore the remaining mystery of the 'plot'.

One way to do this while keeping it interesting would be to have the main lead be a character outside of the power of the plot: a little padded jacket for the main characters who aren't planning on having more children. A daughter of the Si family, a sister who supports her brothers acting career and directly confronts the little daughter of the Cheng family.

Edit: I found the fanwai and am almost satisfied haha. It was close to what I hoped! That the author added more crossings was a little over complicated though... At least some of the future is hinted at.

[collapse]

On another note, is it just me or is our little reborn villain's sexuality not determined yet?

Spoiler

He could go either way with the open attitude of the Si family. Maybe the author didn't write the after story because it would be BL???
