Reborn as a member of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Ci has no intention of saving his clan, he just wants to fake his death, collect his insurance and go home. Conveniently, the Third Shinobi World War is raging! Uchiha Ci is sent on a mission to the Land of Hot Water. He figures that in this dangerous era, dying shouldn’t be too difficult. But soon, he furrows his brow and realizes things aren’t that simple…

Leader of the Jashin Cult: “Damn it, God! I’ve never seen an Uchiha laughing maniacally while being sacrificed on the altar.”

Uchiha Obito: “Big brother fought through fire and lightning, slashed through Kannabi Bridge, and stormed into the Iwagakure encampment just to save me! I’m tearing up!”

Ōnoki: “I brought ten thousand men to gang up on the Raikage, and now what in the hell are we surrounding?”

Uchiha Ci: “Damn, I just wanted to die honorably. Why is it so difficult?”

Novel Review: Naruto: I, Uchiha, Just Want to Die

What’s Good:

  • Unique Premise – The story takes a fresh angle on the Naruto universe, following Uchiha Ci, a transmigrator who only wants to die but keeps surviving through increasingly ridiculous scenarios.
  • Dark Humor & Satire – The protagonist’s desperation for death leads to many comedic and ironic situations, making it an entertaining read.
  • Strong Characterization – Uchiha Ci’s interactions with other characters, including Obito and Shisui, feel natural and often hilarious.
  • Action & Strategy – The novel incorporates tactical ninja battles and political maneuvering, staying true to the Naruto world’s conflicts.
Verdict:

A clever, satirical take on the Naruto universe with an engaging protagonist and well-executed humor. The mix of dark comedy, action, and world-building makes it a refreshing read for fans of the franchise.
