We have a wolf in sheep's clothing slowly invading a squirrel's territory, enticing the squirrel and making it feel comforted, but dutifully (and ironically) making sure during the hunt that all boundaries of the said squirrel is respected.

Hence, we get a lovely story. It also did very well in depicting social anxiety--not underplaying it at all but also not making it our MC's personality. A nice read when you're desperately looking for novel to read but aren't finding any good picks.

I absolutely adored the entire sequence of the story—it's incredibly well-constructed and engaging. The pacing is also just right, allowing for organic character development without feeling rushed.

For the characters, well, the male lead really stands out as one of the most ideal partners out there. He has patience, empathy, and gentleness and does especially well when approaching people with social anxiety. While his craftiness might deviate slightly from my personal taste, I sincerely admire his ability to make others feel at ease.

A short sweet tale of an introverted story teller and his elite office worker neighbor. The gradual progression of their acquaintance is dictated by our MC’s social anxiety. The characters were well drawn if fairly flimsy in backstory. The world was primarily isolated to their apartment. Characters beyond our leads and their “child” don’t have names. Our ML is a mischievous and capable being. His pursuit was kind. Our MC has a hilarious misunderstanding about the ML’s work.

The ML is a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing, but he comes in with only good intentions for the most part. Honestly the scheming is necessary to break down the walls of the MC, so I forgive it.

I would say the mental illness is written in a realistic way. The MC has severe social anxiety and the ML is very patient and understanding of the fact. ML rarely, if ever, tries to push MC out of his comfort zone, unless it's something he knows MC can handle. It's also not miraculously healed by love, which is a trope I absolutely hate.

It's a cute little story about falling in love with your neighbor, nothing fancy or elaborate. Short and sweet, perfect for one sitting. I do have some concerns with parts of the book, however it's short enough that I can forgive it for now.

The ML's patience, understanding and respect helps our MC's journey to healing. The MC developed some serious issues while growing up hence shutting himself from the world. Thank goodness for our "wolf" in sheep's clothing who was slowly invading not only the treehouse of our little adorable squirrel but also conquering his heart as well.😍 Also the mini misunderstanding is hilarious and sweet at the same time. I love how their relationship unfolds and developed beautifully.

I really enjoyed reading this cute novel. MC, Lin Wen, is super sweet and I feel sad for the bad things that happened in his life. It's fortunate that MC was courageous and soft hearted enough to save ML, Zhuang Nan, from freezing to death. MC's act of kindness opened up a new and beautiful world for him. ML is super patient with MC. 💕
