Completed it at Ridibooks. A very good business management focusing on HRM. Two of my favorite arcs are (1) Management Training (2) Google Team - from hiring process up to winning the deal. Hope this get produced in K-drama.

Interesting? I don't think I've ever read anything like this before. Most Chinese regressor novels (in modern day) are total tr*sh, with protagonists that instantly win at everything, and all the side characters are either hot 'strong' women who don't need no man (who then become non-characters once they join the MC's harem), or one note antagonists who are there solely to be face-slapped.

Here, this is basically a cross between Game of Thrones and The West Wing lmao. It's ALL office politics. The MC doesn't have a perfect memory (no... more>> magical stock manipulation to instantly become a trillionaire), but what he does have are 20 years worth of finely-honed salaryman skills, from alcohol tolerance to poker face to the ability to navigate office politics. And yes, the story is mostly office politics. He does have some minor 'future knowledge', but for the most part it's all about his skills - office skills and people skills.

The other characters are all pretty well detailed. His fellow team-members of Sales Team 5 are all good guys, and any 'antagonists' are that way simply because they're also trying to get ahead in this dog-eat-dog world.

As for the romance, there are two love interests, but frankly he's interested in neither of them lol. One of them he is kinda cozying up to, but only because he's misinformed about her identity - he thinks she's the Chairman's 4th son's lover.... when she's actually his sister (so the chairman's daughter). He wanted to get noticed by her, but when she starts to make moves on him he panics because he didn't think of her romantically - just another way to get noticed by the 'rulers' of his little kingdom he's part of [the company]. The other is the only female member in his new hire intake. He's helped her out due to her really being one of the few that lasts long (because she's competent!) On that note, literally the only other female character in the entire story so far is his mother... I'd call it sexist but this is a representation of the salaryMAN trading company lifestyle, so probably accurate.

So it's pretty interesting, in that normally I would find this stuff utterly boring. Like the company culture is honestly disgusting, with brown-nosing and tearing down others, corruption as a norm, etc. I seriously hate the setting. But the MC is a good guy (and I mean that, he doesn't backstab or betray anyone), he's surrounded by a good crew, and it's strangely wholesome. I'll continue for now, but it's right on the edge of readable... just because I should absolutely hate it due to the setting, but the writing is really good. <<less
