Tsurutani is an unremarkable salaryman working in the inventory management department of a major food company. Though still in his late forties, his graying hair and weary demeanor make him appear older than his years. One day, he is summoned by the company president, Togawa, and assigned an unexpected and overwhelming task: to entertain executives from an overseas partner company in hopes of securing a crucial business alliance.

Initially refusing, believing himself unsuited for such an important role, Tsurutani is stunned when the true nature of the “entertainment” is revealed—it involves offering his body.

Driven by a sense of obligation to the company that gave him everything, Tsurutani reluctantly agrees. When he arrives at the appointed location, he finds two American men waiting for him… and thus begins a night that will irrevocably alter the course of his life.

I still don’t quite know how to explain this book. I went in expecting a dark BL story, but this wasn’t just dark in the usual dramatic or tragic sense—it was emotionally raw and morally off-balance.

The narrative is split into two connected halves, and each brings its own flavor of discomfort. There’s a creeping tension throughout—equal parts humiliation and fascination. This isn’t a love story. It’s about power, obsession, and surrender—and how terrifyingly thin those boundaries can get when s*x is the currency.

Some readers will hate this book. Honestly, I’m... more>> not even sure I liked it myself. The characters are profoundly flawed—sometimes cruel, sometimes just pitiful—and there’s almost no trace of anything resembling “pure” love. But if you’re interested in what desire does to people—especially when they don’t understand it themselves—this hits uncomfortably hard. <<less
