Disappointing. First 2 volumes were more or less unique and good, and its going downhill first class hell express for rest of books. Last 2 volumes are super rushed but apparently novel was axed. In the end nothing makes sense, nothing was properly explained and no loose ends got tied. Same old jp story, edgy guy who loves underage kids or people who looks like kids and has no balls to touch harem members who are all over him because *insert idiotic excuse here*.

It is a good read. There is suspense and (also backstory which is a bit of a pain to read while going in the flow of the current timeline provide few details and it is not recommended to skip the fillers just skim through them).

Not much character development, from start till the end its just revenge but its not boring at all.

Till ch.203 (volume 7) only 4 villains got done in, I feel like it's going slow.

Regarding romance it is only shown that MC has feelings for demon king girl but she wont show up till volume 7 but a lot is mentioned about her beforehand. Only the beastkin girl and Yumis's little sister are there in harem till volume 5 but they get separated when MC is sent back to Earth, still waiting for their reunion in volume 7. In*est is highly possible as the sister clearly approaches MC sexually in vol 6 and MC brings her back with him from earth. So current harem lineup in chronological order : Minnalis (rabbit ear) , Shuria, Mai (sister) , Letucia (demon king) .

Still in the middle of reading so will update again after binge reading the next 3 volumes to conclusion.

So far now this is your typical edge lord revenger protagonist, quite unique in the sense that he prefers to torture over a long period often a whole half of the novel in fact. He has a harem of companions that help with this and also want a similar “revenge” if anything else the methods of torture are quite creative. In terms of romance it’s basically non existent to this point tho... more>> the MC has a soft spot for the demon lord from his past life, kinda hard to relate to her now since we only see 1 flashback lol.

The volume 5 epilogue had a bit of a gotcha ending so volume 6 should be quite interesting...

I do not think this is a great novel by any means but it’s ok to read if you aren’t put off by the torture and pure edginess of the MC. Kinda ironic that this is what usually ends up hindering him from outright killing them since he wants to prolong suffering altho it makes not much difference as none of them actually regret what they did so most of it is just satisfying his own ego which even he admits haha. <<less

Status: v7 intermission
This is one of, if not the only, revenge story I can actually tolerate. It feels like most people overlook how good this novel really is because of one of two things.

1. They're too scared off by the "edgy" premise,

2. They are so much of an edgelord they're scared off by the non edgy scenes

... more>> When if you read the actual novel fully, it's clear that, this story isn't meant to be either.

Most isekai revenge MCs (Keyaru, Raoul) you really wonder, how these guys were even designated as "Heroes" in the first place. Kaito actually has morals, and though, due to the trauma and crushing events that has happened to him, these morals have been crushed and twisted into a putrid form, you can tell that deep down, they are still there. Though the world has eaten him up and spat him out over and over, he never once says that the world itself is horrible, and that its fault for all this,

This actually puts him in conflict in one of his party members later.

instead actually still believing in the overall goodness of others, even though it's hurt him.

In his own words,

"This world is just like that one, kind and vile people living all over it, with just enough good to outweigh the bad."

This doesnt mean he's a push over however, he still wants his just desserts on all the people who hurt him, it just means he won't destroy the world to do it.

Another really good thing compared to other revenge novels is, stakes. Usually in these stories (JNR, Redo) its just the MC steamrolling every cartoonishly evil character on his conquest of the world, with no contest in site. In this story however, there are many times where Kaito isn't infallible, and other characters get the better of him, with the revenge targets being better than other stories as well. Some are cartoonishly evil I admit, but even they have some reason for what they do. While others

really do make you think. The story also doesn't always glorify Kaito as always morally correct, allowing the reader to formulate their own opinion. Even calling him tr*sh multiple times.

Also has nice prose.

Some Cons:

Kaito is the standout character in this, only two characters that even get close to his writing need more screen time.

This does have harem elements with the mc's sister having a brother complex

The LN volumes have long gaps in releases

The main girl is a loli (if thats a con to you) <<less

Decided to pick it up and chose the Light Novel with Official translations, because I was under the false assumption that LNT had translated Volume's 3+. Turns out I was wrong, they've only translated Volume 7 because some Japanese readers wanted to read Volume 7 in English.

Really, it's just a generic isekai with a revenge factor added in t0 spice things up. The writing is, as expected, very lazy with the bare minimum thought put into each encounter. The only exceptions are the revenge scenes, which are very uncommon in... more>> this revenge story, and require you to suspend your disbelief due to them being so unrealistic even within the story. Still, it's moderately entertaining if you can suspend your disbelief.

The most surprising part about this Light Novel is the art. I never knew what bottom of the barrel looked like when it came to art but this certainly is it. This artist is literally the A-1 Pictures of illustrators, using the same copy and pasted face on every character with minor changes to the hair and clothes. The only character that looked different was the bunny girl until they removed her ears. <<less
