No Fighting Allowed in the Inn

In the martial world, disputes often lead to immediate violence, frequently harming innocent, unarmed civilians who either lose their wealth or their lives.

Lu Jianwei merely complained a few times when she was suddenly bound by a system and transported to ancient times, tasked with running an inn according to the system’s rules.

The foremost rule of the inn is—

No fighting within the inn.

Violators will either lose their wealth or their lives.

A mysterious inn suddenly appeared in the martial world, rumored to be a shady establishment dealing in mu*der and robbery.

No matter who enters the inn, they either leave penniless or lose their lives.

The bold and skilled “Know-It-All” of the martial world, eager for firsthand information, sneaked into the inn alone to trace the whereabouts of missing people, only to be horrified to discover—

Isn’t that diligent woodcutter the number one swordsman of the martial world?!

Isn’t that agile waiter the number one thief of the martial world?!

Isn’t that chef wielding a kitchen knife the number one beauty of the martial world?!

Isn’t that farmer hoeing the ground the top disciple of the Martial Alliance?!

And that…

Before he could flee, the inn’s beautiful and gentle landlady stood before him with a smile.

“The inn still needs an accountant. You’re it.”

Know-It-All: I’m just a seller of information, I can’t do accounting ahhhh!

Reading Guide:

① Not a serious martial arts story, focuses on management + face-slapping + drama;

② The female lead is the strongest throughout the story (pretending at first, truly strong later), the male lead appears later;

③ For fans of overpowered management stories, all settings in the story are fictional.

5/5 (I rate base on enjoyment)

AAAAA

Damn, I'm on a roll these past few months with these novels. THEY'RE SO GOOD.

... more>> I enjoyed this thoroughly. In response to that one review that said the ending was rushed, don't be deterred. It's not the type of ending where you feel dissatisfied kind of rush. The ending was satisfactory (coming from someone that has read many cnovels).

Now for the review:

I love this novel. I like how everything ties together. The characters were explored thoroughly, with their own short arcs connecting to the bigger picture.

I like the system too, you know how some system stories can either be 1) too naive, easily fooled; 2) too overbearing, making you resent them. This novel found a nice balance. The translation has like gender errors, names, names of location but that's normal. Gender mistranslation is a common issue I've seen in many translations. Other than those two points, it's very readable.

If you have a preference for overpowered characters, this is the novel. The plot was built well, progressing naturally like puzzle pieces. And for the romance seekers, wait until chapter 90. Only then will the romance bloom, the tags should also add "Male Lead falls in love first" and "Devoted Male Lead."

I would love to share more about why I like this novel but, I'm still reeling in the emotions now that I've finished it. The expectations for the story is written in the synopsis. <<less

Thank you to the translators who took the time to finish off this 150-chapter novel; it is very appreciated. The translation was pretty good. There were some times when they were getting people's pronouns wrong. It felt really confusing, but as long as you're paying attention to who's in the scene, you'll do okay.

The FL was awesome. It is so nice to read a synopsis for a novel that says that they have a strong female character, and then when you read it, it SHE ACTUALLY IS. She was... more>> so cool and collected, she didn't allow anyone to shortchange her in any way. So refreshing. I loved how cool, calm, and collected she was, especially after she realized what had happened to her, and her banter with Xiao Ke was cute.

The ML was so calm and understanding. He was a powerful character that didn't overtake the main MC which was nice to see. He wasn't constantly saving the MC from danger, infact the MC was saving him a couple times. A ML that cares about the people around him, treats the MC with only respect and is just geniuly a good person. Great ML.

So... the bad guy's
Spoiler

end was... well... dissatisfying. This is a man who has been pulling the strings from behind the scenes for at least a decade before the MC showed up. He became a 9th-level Master, which is apparently very difficult to do. He pulled the strings on his own clan, his allies, got entire clans destroyed, and all because he wanted the attention of a man who didn't care about him AT ALL. (And because he wanted more power). Him getting eaten alive and his body sinking into the water was just.... dissatisfying. I wanted more, especially considering all the victims he left in his wake. All the people who suffered because of him and never found out who he was, and the truly horrible things he had done. To his clan, he was just a fallen clansman who got the honor of no one knowing what a monster he was... so yeah : (

[collapse]

The story itself started out pretty interesting. It was entertaining watching the MC figure out how to get out of really precarious situations that I honestly would have failed at. She was smart and never let herself be on the bad end of a deal. The side characters in the first half of the novel had great backstories, but you are introduced to quite a few people at first, so write their names down in the notes app on the website to help remember who everyone is.

In the second half of the novel, you're introduced to a bunch of people that I quite frankly didn't care about. They were here for a chapter or two and were gone the next, not impacting the storyline very much. There was legitimately a character that showed up in the last couple of chapters that was killed off in the next couple of paragraphs. He was so pointless.

All in all, this was a solid read except....... THE ENDING. WHAT WAS THAT AND CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN? I FEEL SO s*upid BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND : (

Seriously, though, if you look at the tags and read the summary and think you'll enjoy this, then you will.

Amazing job writing all this done and thank you for sharing it. :) <<less

Overall rating: 4.7

It started out really strong but it ends a bit weak and too fast. The MC is a delight and she has her own ideas and ways of doing things. It's not as extreme as other MCs I've seen but she is a good MC overall. I can understand if others won't like her personality. The ML is pretty good too. He is OP but MC is more OP lol. He is more like a background character for most of the novel and the MC is the main... more>> focus. The system is similar to other stories where they are shown a lot in the beginning but begins to fade out as the MC gets stronger and no longer needs to rely on system items etc. The side characters are also pretty good. Their backstories are well thought-out and they all stay pretty relevant until the end. It's not perfect, there are a lot of small issues throughout that I did not like or didn't think it fit, and the ending is very abrupt and unsatisfying but overall, it is pretty solid for the majority of the novel. If you read the synopsis and it sounds interesting to you then I suggest giving this a try. <<less

I don't like wuxia novels, but really enjoyed this one.

FL transmigrates into a wuxia world, binds to an inn-management system, and needs to earn money to return to the modern world. As she slowly levels up and shamelessly overcharges for inn services, she builds up relationships, alliances, wealth, and reforms the chaotic wuxia world. I also liked the ML, he's a cutie.

The plot slows down a bit in the last quarter, but the fulfilling and heartwarming ending left a wonderful impression.

Some very minor inconsistencies with the translation (like the white... more>> remembrance flower having multiple names), but very minor. <<less

4.5. Romance is very much in the background for a bit. This is a really fun story about a FL who is thrust into the ancient martial arts world and somehow accumulates a team/small family as she falls into and unravels old conspiracies. The very last extra's ending a little confusing, but pacing, characterization, and plotline of the rest of the novel is fun and binge-worthy!

This is 3.5/4 rating.

Thank you to the translator.

The longer I read the less attached I became to the characters and the plot. And it’s actually an interesting plot set in a martial arts universe where the strong survive and the weak or cannon fodders are forgotten.

... more>> Our MC has resources a her fingertips that are OP but she still works hard at securing them.

I think for me there was a level of depth the author failed to dig into with the characters and the story line. I wanted to care more about them. And there were some stand out moments where we got to see their personalities shine but it became more of a gag where the same characters would argue and make jokes but we never really had moments to get to know them beyond that. Some characters don’t talk at all and are only there to serve a purpose and then become background characters until that moment comes back.

The MC and prospective MC is a slow burn but even those two main characters we know ABOUT them but we don’t know them as people and so I didn’t feel any sort of excitement when they hinted towards their romance because it felt like it there was no real foundation there besides always being in the same room/inn.

I will try to come back to it because I did see that the MC tries new ways of earning money with her customers but for now I’ve dropped this story unfortunately. <<less

5 stars! no regrets! Thank you translator for introducing this novel. I have being looking for cultivation novels with logical female leads and this was a fantastic binge read!

The FL is s**ked by a system while asleep into a world of cultivation. She has a mission: to earn enough money through the Inn in order to go back home... Or so she thought. The creation of the world is really entertaining and each character plays a role in the bigger scheme of things. The author did a good job presenting... more>> each guest and character slowly helping you retain information and not be overwhelmed. Her character is consistent through out the story, smart and business minded and a little bit overpowered. The romance part is played low-key and really beautifully introduced, it didn't hinder at all the story. <<less

A quick fun read, with a surprising amount of plot. All the mysteries get resolved in a satisfying way. Everyone is an interesting character with realistic reasons for doing whatever they do. The setting is a bit boring, just a standard wuxia world, but this just means the focus is more on the plot and the characters.

Romance: yep, one of the few novels with romance that I've actually enjoyed. The MC and ML both know what they want, they don't mess around with miscommunication and secrets, and they actually respect... more>> each other.

TL: decent, although it kind of reads like edited MTL since the sentence structure and names of things are often a bit off. <<less
