Translator here! For chapters 13 to 58, anyways...

I have to admit that this story has a special place in my heart. It's not perfect by any means -- the main characters occasionally act like teenagers, things are sometimes over the top, netizens are unreasonably nosy about MC/ML's relationship and it gets real tiring real fast, at times it drags a bit -- but it's still good for what it sets out to do, which is a more or less light-hearted glimpse into the lives of the Empire's admiral and his... more>> secretary. For all the troubles that they face, deep political scheming isn't one of them, or at least it's not in the focus, and I wouldn't recommend this to someone looking for a serious, world-changing novel to sink their teeth into.

However, the MC kept me captured from chapter one. And when I came across the following exchange about halfway through the novel, I knew I had to translate it:

Scene: ML is off fighting enemies, MC stays back on the battleship with a guard

Guard: Secretary Luo... you can fight alongside the admiral when you recover, now is just a temporary rest.

MC: Do you think I'm disappointed that I can't go into battle?

Guard:...

MC: How is that possible? The admiral didn't hire me to fight for him. In battle, he has you, Adjutant Lu, and Adjutant Wang, not to mention the others. My duty is to help take care of his internal logistics.

MC: Every role is necessary. I'm very happy when I can do my job well. But if it's not my field of expertise, why should I burden the admiral?

I think it encapsulates MC/ML's relationship, and it's a ship dynamic I love.

Some other points of interest:

  • Shen Xiluo best supporting character, he matches my sense of humour exactly
  • Holy sh*t so many ships set sail because of that one banquet. So many.
  • MC's parents are very caring, they def love their children
  • Netizen reactions got repetitive and bland, I skimmed most of them TBH
  • MC's EQ is there, he's just in denial
  • ML's EQ absolutely isn't there. But ML's brand of low EQ is different from usual, it's not 'there's no way this person likes me', instead it's 'this person likes me and is chasing me and I'll rearrange my entire worldview to see everything they do as because they like me' when the other person doesn't, in fact, (consciously) like them

Love this! Read this through mtl so the experience is not very smooth but I still get to love the story despite not reading a human translation. It's just so cool that because of that one night so many things were found out one by one, including who the enemy is and what his plan is. Many couples were also formed because of that one night. I love how the author let those things emerged one after another. I also love the main cp, ML is so funny, he's very... more>> s*upid and such a narcissist (not in a bad way though), I love his character, and MC has a good character, an omega who doesn't need to be protected, he's gentle and stable, he's actually very cool. Damn this is the best AOB novel I have seen so far, MC is an omega but he isn’t weak, he has a calm personality but isn’t a pushover at the same time. It’s quite rare to find an omega that isn’t annoying. On the other hand ML can be quite childish but he isn’t a bad person, he treats MC with respect but isn’t overly cold. The novel is amazing! The MC is very rational and calm while the ML has a Tsundere kind. I kept checking the chapters every now and then according to the update but I guess no one is picking it up to continue. I hope that this will be completed soon! It's a wonderful story keep going!

I think this is a perfect story like there a little bits of everything from sweet moment to traumatic past... I love how they need each other to heal from their past...

Although at first lucas seems harsh but he care alot about Lao Ran he know many things about Lao Ran and he didn't even realize it... Lucas can remember what Lao Ran can/can't eat but Lucas can't remember what he ate last night 🤣

The misunderstanding in their relationship is also funny😂 usually I would be annoying but their misunderstanding... more>> are hilarious af!

I need more of their kids.. yes KIDS..2 male (twins) 1 female and all 3S the twins is very funny they act like an angel with Lao Ran but become very naughty with Lucas.. the female is very calm and gentle she really took after Lao Ran.. the oldest brother follow Lucas in military, the second brother like businesses and will inherited aldor family business and the youngest they didn't say much but very popular at school and always wins award and she's studying in logistics so I think she really following Lao Ran foot steps

Plot reminds a lot of the webtoon "Kiss me, Liar" with the one night stand between strict douchebag-y boss and secret omega ultra competent secretary leading to a relationship. The western name alpha and asian name omega contrast is similar. Even the summary of the novel and intro to the webtoon is similar with the alpha wanting to find the "unknown" omega and ”kill" (novel) /”devour" (webtoon) them after an impactful hormone-driven one night stand. It diverges a bit from there with the military stuff though.

Better than expected! I even plan to drop it as I read the the first 20chapters. The story is cliché but eventually the story piques my interest. It also made me laugh several time due to cp 🤣🤣

The admiral (ml) and his secretary (MC) aren't really a couple but due to the ambiguous atmosphere between them everyone around them build them a cp, and I find it hilarious XD

However, I find the push n pull between MC and ML very annoying. Both of them have brain damage and keep doing... more>> unreasonable things. Especially the ML, he keeps forcing the MC to like him. Suppressing the MC with pheromones etc ML also hurt (accidentally) physically and mentally the MC in many ways and most of the time during the 6yrs time.. <<less

This one is kind of roller coaster I see. What I thought was a classic ABO CEO drama turns into interstellar war filled with political maneuver.

The dynamic is quite entertaining, I do love the strong omega shou and their supporter's behavior.

There are elements that makes me raising eyebrow tho, why's this and why that, but oh well.

Thank you for the many translators who worked together in finishing this.

Y'all. I've been in a reading slump d/t academic stress and examinations for months already!! Thank goodness for this novel. A life saver.

The characters balance each other and I never had any thoughts of frustrations over their personalities because those define them perfectly. The story didn't dwell much on the complexities of politics and didn't really have any heave plot. Hence, no extra brain cells needed. The story mainly focused on the progress of our MC and ML's relationship. Nothing was rushed at the beginning (cuz I think the ending... more>> was kinda). Really loved the author's humor which was showcased through the forum.

Giving this a 5/5! Didn't regret the sleepless nights I spent reading this work. Thank you author and translators. <<less

Actually very sweet. Almost gave up part way through. But I like HE and persisted to the end. The characters are all very lovely (except the baddies).

The first half well worth reading. Thank you to the translators for sharing their work.

I truly enjoyed this story, everything about them was super cute and wholesome❤️But the amount of secondhand embarrassment I felt !!!!🫣 And the extras are a bonus I felt happy.

If anyone wants to read this story go ahead u won't regret it.

This story was good, but it had some shortcomings and unresolved plotlines, which left me unsatisfied.

I wish the extras went a little bit more in-depth on each side of the characters that played an important role in the story

Summary: Admiral Lucas is enraged after having a one-night stand with an unknown omega. In unrelated news, Secretary Luo Ran, closeted omega, calls in sick for a day. Admiral Lucas swears vengeance on the omega that drugged him and slept with him. Luo Ran must now prove his innocence by solving the mystery of who drugged the Admiral and why while hiding his own tracks as the omega involved. In the process, romance and tension fill the air as imperial power struggles and long-forgotten memories cloud things further. Featuring... more>> a cast of schemers, liars, and shippers!

Setting:

Fairly standard interstellar world crossed with ABO dynamics. In this world, only alphas and omegas are capable of having what's called "spiritual power" which is used as an energy source and a tool to drive mechas. The MC, an undercover beta, is hiding that he's actually an SSS-omega. The ML is a SSS-alpha.

Characters:

MC:

I really like Luo Ran as an MC. He's calm, collected, capable, and confident. The story of how he became the Admiral's secretary is fairly similar to "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" in that he was originally someone who wasn't good at the job with a very picky boss but through his own hard work and the boss's slight recognition of that hard work, becomes a super competent secretary that the office can't do without.

Luo Ran is a great character in that he's very clearly flawed too. He's somewhat selfish in love and lies to the ML. He lies to ML multiple times about various things. TBF, all of these are issues that he doesn't know how the ML will react, but it can be a little irritating. His selfishness is mostly about not wanting to be apart or separated from ML. It's due to this that he lies to ML a few times.

Specifically, he lies about

  4. things he does to protect ML.

Despite these, MC is very caring and loving towards ML. He's also generally a pretty good person and maintains civil friendships with a lot of people. He's also smarter than a lot of the more braindead MC's you see who go around offending people left and right.

ML:

ML comes across as your standard annoying CEO ML in the beginning but after the novel starts to discuss the ML's past, specifically his trauma and how it affects his personality, he comes off as a tsundere that's a total wife s*ave. They start to address his trauma pretty early on and his behavior really doesn't rise to the level of annoying CEO ML's so it's easy to forgive. That being said, he does have an annoying habit of being tsundere and also kabedon'ing MC all the time. AND it's the kabedon with the wrists being held above the head with one hand. I really liked his character.

Other Characters:

Antagonists:

Most meh antagonists award. They're not that scary or smart. They get KO'd by MC and ML pretty easily. One literally implodes onto himself.

Coworkers & Doctors:

HILARIOUS. They're so funny. Specifically this one doctor character who's always getting blamed. Then there's the coworkers and they're all blatant shippers.

Parents:

Meh. ML's parents suck, but it's not really addressed. MC's parents are ok.

Plot

Not challenging or interesting in that way. This is a fluffy novel.

lucas is quite entertaining. He's like a f*cking tsundere maiden. And his double standard for luo ran is through the roof HAHAHAHA FK. It's so entertaining seeing him eat his own words.

I liked the many side couples too. I wish I could've seen more of their stories! T-T

Interstellar fluffy romance between a very competent military secretary MC and an alpha Admiral ML. It's a rare story where the omega MC is actually a tough/strong/capable man in his own right. The side couples were lovely too.

An absolutely lovely romance story to read that's based in the interstellar era plus some ABO dynamics. Alot of the reviews have mentioned the pros of this story so I'll just state what I like the most about it:

Pros:

    • The story flows well with an interesting beginning that makes the reader want to know what happens next. The switching in POVs also allows us as readers to know whats happening in the story for all the important characters.
    • MC and ML's relationship is gradually progressing throughout the story as they both realize their feelings. It is very fun as both characters have very different personalities and the way they approach the realization that "oh I do like him!" is very cute.
    • Side characters like Lu Cheng, Dr Shen, Dr Xia are all also add to the story and they help the relationship between MC and ML progress.
Cons:

    • After 50 or so chapters I felt my interest disappearing a little as there were a lot of mysteries going on in the story and because our MC is always really calm, I didn't feel that they had the urge to solve it quickly which made me feel bored. However, all the loose ends of the story is tied up nicely by the time we hit chapter 80+. All the mysteries are also solved by then so I guess I just needed to be patient.
    • But it did get a little boring for me by then because of the many misunderstandings between the MC and ML. This is because the ML has a kinda low EQ when it comes to dealing with Luo Ran. And Luo Ran our MC is too deep in denial about his feelings for the ML that he often keeps the truth from the ML. The misunderstandings between them got a bit long and I thought it could've been settled earlier if they had talked it out but both their personalities aren't the type that would do so which is why the story dragged on for some time. Once the misunderstandings were settled then the story returned to 200% of sweetness and dog food.
No spoilery parts because the main pull of the story is the mysteries involved in their Empire alongside the MC and ML figuring out their relationship too.

Most of the extra chapters are about the side characters and their love life and brief account of how they fell in love. My favourite is of the second prince and his AA relationship heh.

A good read.

I am loving this story so far.

It's funny. It's cute. You get the perspective of both the ML and the MC along with a few bits from the people around them.

The way so many people ship them is hilarious.

... more>> The story flows nicely and doesn't feel repetitive and there hasn't been any filler scenes to stretch things out so far.

I like how it has omega's not only being strong and important, but there is also the attitude that they should be respected and protected. It doesn't have the common weak omega/omega only have 1 use kind of tropes that are so common in ABO novels. Also Beta aren't treated as second class citizen's which is also nice.

The world building is middle of the road. There are enough details to get a feel for things, but the are some things like "the company" etc where some people and place don't have names, etc.

The translator has done a great job. It's easy to read and understand grammatically. <<less

I really got into this. It's really interesting and I love the swapping perspectives and while this is definitely a relationship where you wish they would just sit down and talk it out, it's fun to watch them run around each other the whole time.
