Zhang Yuze fell asleep only to find out that he had crossed over into a random book… Becoming a s*um gong’s pitiful but cheap ex-boyfriend, someone who even turned into a love-obsessed stalker after being rejected.

As for Xu Li, the original s*um gong, he was simply disappointed with love and marriage after witnessing his father’s domestic violence and the breakdown of his parent’s marriage.

On top of that, he was also a firm believer in a famous saying: Only fools believe in love.

*

One would think that Zhang Yuze would be happy to hold the script, eager to stage a cool drama about tearing up a s*umbag, hitting him with a counterattack, and forcing him to chase his wife through a crematorium, right?

Unfortunately, no. Because he himself also didn’t believe in love.

Zhang Yuze, the one who once experienced the betrayal of his first love, being played with and forced to wear a green hat, actually agreed with the s*umbag…

Only fools believe in love.

*

He thought that there would be no more intersections between his and Xu Li’s life. But who knew that one day, Xu Li, who had a high fever, suddenly stretched out his hand to him, looking provocative and frivolous.

He swallowed an antipyretic and suddenly said: “You don’t believe in love, and neither do I. However, medicine says that practice comes from true knowledge. How about we fall in love and see if there’s such a thing?”

*

“Do you believe in love?”

“No, I don’t.”

“Then why are we getting married?”

“I don’t need love, but I need you.”

The one with the most poisonous tongue in the world, Zhang Yuze vs. The drama dog with a coquettish mouth, Xu Li.

Reversible couple! Mutual attack story!

Fools indeed, the MC has broken up with his ex-bf for a long time but he didn't change the lock?

The ex-bf still have the key to his house and can go in and out of his house as he pleases, even bringing disaster to the MC at the end.

MC is a surgeon and the ML is a surgical assistant but has 0 common sense and self preservation.

Aside from that, the story is pretty short and not bad in my opinion. Please give it a try.

Super cute and sweet ^~^ Loved fanwai, usually Chinese extras make me mad, I almost always regret that I read them. But those extras left sweet aftertaste and smile on my face>~< I all UwU feelings.

Story about cardiologist transmigrating... But to tell the truth I had feeling that book and reality merged. Start with them fighting each other to let's try that dating thing to sweet lovers.

I especially loved how Xu Li always remember about doctor Zhang fear of cold, and Zhang Yuge was all like who cares about rotten... more>> peach blossom from past, as long that dog remembers that I afraid of cold and obedient, than it's good dog. <<less

Hello everyone, I'm this novel's translator. I would like to thank you all for reading this novel, having people enjoy it makes me very happy :)

Let's talk about this novel. In my humble opinion, is quite the gem. It weaves together humor, emotional depth, and complex relationships, creating a story that's engaging, but still a light read. The characters are also well-developed, to the point where they almost leap off the page, each bringing their unique charm and flaws to the table.

After reading the rest of the reviews, it... more>> came to my attention that maybe I didn't make some things clear enough when I translated. Basically, the MC, Zhang Yuze, transmigrates into a novel about the life on another Zhang Yuze (the original MC). In that book life, he's a bottom that's totally smitten with the ML, Xu Li. He does not have a cynical view about love, and that whole book is basically a s*upid "feel-good novel" about a little bottom who's hurt in love by the s*um gong, and how the s*um gong grovels to earn back his love. Now, our Zhang Yuze (the one who transmigrated) is not like that at all, he's a cynical man who's disappointed in love because of his past relationship with Shen Mo, and he's also a top, so it makes sense for his ex to be a girly little boy. The original MC from the book and Zhang Yuze are two different people, however, at some point in the story, it became obvious that it wasn't really that much of a transmigration into a book case, but more likely the character of Xu Li (from the book) somehow made it's way into Zhang Yuze's real life. So the setting from the book he supposedly transmigrated into no longer makes sense, since that book only serves as a way to introduce Xu Li into Zhang Yuze's life. You can see it as the book world and the real word merging together, but from the book to reality, instead of the other way around as it usually is the case in transmigration novels. I hope it makes sense :)

Now, a little something about the main characters

Zhang Yuze (the MC), is a stoic yet endearing surgeon, and Xu Li (the ML), starts as his mischievous and surprisingly loyal assistant turned partner. They have a dynamic that's both heartwarming and hilarious, with playful banter and deep connection that provides a perfect setting for a believable love story, although neither of them starts by wanting to persue a real relationship.

Moreover, the medical backdrop is quite well-researched and adds an extra layer to the story, even if I might have butchered some terms while translating (sorry, I'm an art student, I have no clue about medicine, or studying in general). Despite the fact that the plot is not something new (yet another transmigration novel), I still found it engaging enough, probably because of the main characters. I really enjoyed reading about them bickering like idiots while developing real feelings for each other, taking them both by surprise.

I think it deserves a little bit of love and your attention so please, if you're in the mood for a light read that's hilarious and has engaging main characters, don't skip this one. It's short and lovely. <<less

It’s a sweet down to earth story about love, reality and facts of life. A couple taking time to fall in love and supporting each other in times of crisis. It truly deserves an above 4 rating.

I. AM. SCREAMINGGGGGGG

This story is so good I cant believe the reviews isnt up to 4 yettttt! My preferences is to read only 4stars and above novels, if I havent accidentally tap the story I would have been deprived of this chefs kiss novel!!!

For the objective review:

1. The translation is so good! Knowing the story focuses more in the field of medicine, the terms are made in the way that its easy to understand, although there arent a lot, but its just now that I realize how smooth sailing... more>> my reading is, especially when I have no idea about doctors, hospitals, and the likes. All in all I commend the translation.

2. This is second chance story which is one of my top favorite tags and one of the best story under this category.

3. The MC is self-aware/decisive/calm/confident just like how I want my MC to be. The story is not frustrating because the MC knows what he wants and stood by it. He is not easy to bully since his personality is direct but not to the point of arrogance.

4. The ML is good too! Hes a perfect pair with the MC. I thought I would be a turn off with an ML who is frivolous in terms of s*xual endeavors since thats how I usually react, but, surprisingly in this story it was narrated and smoothly stitched in a way that you would understand without pissing you off about the how, why, and howd it come up like that, which is no easy feat, making me appreciate the story more.

5. And ofcourse faceslappinggg! The main highlight of second chance/tranmigration tag is faceslapping. Which is present in the story too. Although I must say I was more pleased with the comedic elements of the story bwahahahahaha. Especially the first time theyre eating in a restaurant lololol <<less

I really enjoyed 80% of the story, the main cp bickering and the humour in the plot.

It took a while for me to understand that MC was the MC in the book he transmigrated into, it was a bit unclear. I thought he was a side character or something and there was another shou character.

... more>> The story kind of went into a rollercoaster in the literal last few chapters that gave me a bit of whiplash. But it somehow landed right back on its feet with a very nice HEA.

The extra was extra sweet as well.

Also, who could resist a reversible couple? <<less

Please Please Please try to give this a go. I promise you wont regret it. Somehow this book got itself a bad rating which is probably the only reason why I did not try this before now. I don't understand how anyone could give this such a low rating after reading this. It makes no sense.

So the story here follows Zhang Yuze who is a cardiac surgeon that one day finds a book on a table at his home (he has OCD, so this is very uncharacteristic of him to... more>> leave out). The book tells the story of a pitiful love obsessed shou that becomes obsessed with a s*um cheating gong, then goes on to get revenge on this s*um gong. MC finds himself transmigrated into a world very much like his own, with the same house, family, and job. The only addition is the s*um gong and a couple of characters that appear in the novel. He turns a one-eighty (or the he from the novel) once he finds himself in this new setting, discarding love as something only fools believe in, and immediately stop his pursing (stalking) of the s*um gong. He transforms himself from a weak, pitiful shou to a powerful gong that believes love and love just hormones the body makes.

MC and s*um gong clash instantly, constantly clashing and arguing like elementary school student, and sometimes even getting violent. One thing leads to another and s*um gong finds out MC has forsaken his belief in love. Turns out s*um gong has pretty similar beliefs regarding love, coming from home that has a love brain mother, and a lying, cheating, s*um father. They both bond over their shared views regarding love, and decide to conduct an experiment, being two scientific men, to see if love really does exist, and this is how the s*um gong transforms himself into the ML of this novel.

This novel was such a great read. I really loved their way of quarrelling with each-other; somehow both like an old married couple and also like elementary students. MC's use of affectionate terms like 'idiot', 's*upid', 'dog', were actually really fun to read (don't worry, this isn't an abusive, toxic relationship, they just use 'idiot', just how other couples may say 'baby'). Again, please at-least try to give it a go, and give it a better rating if you like it. I don't see why people give books bad ratings without even read them (because I don't understand how any sane human could read this and give it a 1 or 2 stars). This is not an overly complex novel that will make you question the laws of the universe, but its a very fun read that is worth spending its (too) short time reading.

I would also like to thank the translator for the work they've but into this. Perfect translation, no notes. <<less

I really loved the novel! Although, it never went in dept with the reasons as for MC's world merging with the melodrama novel, it was still a engaging and enjoyable read for a light novel.

Due to past experiences, the main characters are skeptical about the existence if true, lasting romantic love. Despite being averse about the topic, but having to settle down they chose each other. The main characters being mature, approached their relationship with realistic perspective and prioritizing compatibility over passionate feelings.

This is a strange one. The writing is all over the place. The MC and ML often do a 180° (in personality, character, etc), not just because of the transmigration, and more often than not flip between the 0° and 180°. Just two examples, ... more>>
Spoiler

(1) the original MC from the book was in love with the ML and was shamelessly and relentlessly pursuing him, yet he was later said to have long ago given up on love due to his ex; (2) the book (within the novel) said the MC was a bottom and he was portrayed as such, yet his ex was a small 'girly' guy.

[collapse]
And it's quite annoying to see characters (not just in this novel) written with mysophobia which often goes away or gets forgotten conveniently at times, and also quite annoying to often mistake mysophobia with OCD, even if both have relations to each other. <<less

I find this quite cute and funny. There's not a lot going on, just everyday life for our two main leads, but their interactions are hilarious. MC is a surgeon who transmigrates into a wife chasing crematorium type of novel, but is more like his life and the book merge together. Actually, you could say that the book ML transmigrates into MC's life, because he's the only thing that changes, the rest of MC's life stays pretty much the same. Both of them were hurt/badly influenced by love before, so... more>> they don't trust love until it hits them, making for a hilarious read. Don't expect any revolutionary plot or serious business, it's just the story of two idiots falling for each other while bickering like elementary school kids. Anyway, it was a fun read for me. <<less

I first read Transmigrating To 1983 and I really liked the translator and this was their next translation. And I am so glad they picked this one up

This was a wonderful novel, I loved the ML and the MC, both were very masculine men (which is my preference). Both were talented and good at their jobs. One was very introverted and one was an extrovert. One couldn’t be bothered with a relationship and the other was promiscuous. Totally different personalities but with one thing in common, neither believed in love

So... more>> of course they decided to try to be in a relationship

It is a cute story, well worth reading

I highly recommend this novel (and the extra, how they decide who is the top and who is the bottom made me laugh) <<less

I really loved this novel; it was so fun to read, especially since both the ML and the MC are kind of mature, and the length is perfect—not too short or too long. It was such a fun read!

It was a nice story to pass time if you can ignore a few discrepancies.

1. Like MC was a cold guy in his world yet in this world when he met ml. They were both at each other's throats at the beginning. Where according to his personality he should have straight out ignored the other guy instead of engaging in verbal and physical ab*se. I mean he was supposed to be indifferent yet he was angry at ml every single time.

2. 2nd og MC was heads over heels on ML... more>> even though he wasn't supposed to be after a heartbreak from his ex.

3. 3rd MC mom in book said talked about MC good and cold personality saying she knows her son since childhood about this and that blablabla even book's og MC was just a dumb in love.

4. Nobody question how MC read a book 80-90% similar to his own life

5. ML was said to never believe in love so why did he accepted the little doc's of the og book lunch boxes despite knowing that other guy is infatuated with him? Since you don't believe in love, you are ready to beat the other person when he confessed to you. Why the hell did you give them hope to begin with? Don't accept his lunch. Tell him straightforwardly that you aren't interested in them.

6. And I really hated both of their views on love that it doesn't exist and nobody can love someone selflessly. They were both mature, intelligent and reasonable so they should know that just because they met wrong people doesn't ultimately makes everyone a scum. Love do exist and people are sure selfless in world it's just that you haven't met anyone good. MC even loved someone in past so yeah sure it was reciprocated doesn't mean it doesn't exist. When you your's are best example. Haven't you already loved someone. If you can ignore these things then it's a good story. <<less
