【Dark Humor + Comedy + Ruthless + Global Survival + Unconventional Thinking + Single Love Interest + Semi-Invincible + Smart Power Fantasy (or Dumb Fun)】

A global horror game descends upon the world. The chosen ones must participate in challenges of inhuman difficulty. In these torment-filled games, there is also a chance to gain extraordinary power.

Life or death. A single step to the top—or losing everything.

However, Lu Ce, who has never felt pain since childhood, is completely unfazed by this hellish game. In fact, he even finds it amusing. Right from the start, he awakens the “Chosen of Agony” system.

Chosen of Agony—Endure theoretical torment and suffering to gain attribute points!

Pain = Attribute Points + I Have No Pain = Unlimited Points!

When tasked with retrieving a key from a boiling oil vat, Lu Ce doesn’t hesitate to reach in—and even suggests switching the oil to 98% concentrated sulfuric acid.

Faced with the choice of drowning or cutting off his shackled leg to escape, Lu Ce pauses for a moment… then decides to leave the locked left leg alone for now and saw off his right leg first!

【Bro, who is this guy? Just watching him makes me feel pain, and he’s over there laughing?!】

【The best way to conquer fear is to become fear itself. Clearly, he’s mastered that.】

【Everyone else gets tortured by the game. Lu God tortures the game itself!】

【I watched one of his gameplay videos and had nightmares for a month…】

Lu Ce: “A test of human nature? For me, it’s just an experience! Got anything else?”

“I only have one concern coming here: your imagination for torture methods isn’t wild enough.”

“As villains, I really think you guys should be more twisted. Otherwise… it’ll be my turn, hehehe~~”

The protagonist always seems to get the exact skills and items he needs right when he needs them. The plot convenience is just way too much sometimes. Yeah, he’s OP, but at least he knows his limits. Even if he can’t feel pain, he doesn’t just ignore his body or act like he's invincible, which I kinda respect.

The story is pretty linear, and there’s some repetitiveness here and there, but I gotta say, the MC’s actions are so random and funny that every arc still ends up having its own... more>> charm. It’s decent, I guess. Not amazing, but not bad either.

One thing that really keeps things interesting is the “Sin Mask” item. Because of it, the MC changes his personality in every game, and it honestly makes the whole thing more engaging. Like, you're not just watching the same guy bulldoze everything, he acts different each time, and it adds something.

Even though it’s clearly a power fantasy, I’ll give the author some credit. It really feels like they tried to make each Game stand out. Sure, the MC just blasts through everything anyway, but somehow, that’s also part of the fun. I was hoping for more mystery-solving, and yeah, it is there, but the way the MC solves it? Really unhinged and just straight-up funny.

The first game is about endurance, the second one's all mind games, the third is mystery-solving, and the fourth is basically Among Us, lol. The games themselves are kinda tr*sh though. Like, the enemies and bosses? Pretty lame, not gonna lie.

3/5. It’s alright. Has its moments, and the MC carries hard. <<less

Not sure what power fantasy this speaks to. It's a little grim, but it kind of undercuts it to the point where I don't know what it's for other than to be gratuitous.

It's fine so far, but I don't think it's anything special. With the mask being an emotional twist so we never get a baseline on our protag it also undercuts their own sort of experience.
