Heya, translator here. So this series is a short one, and each chapter isn't that long either (edit: oops, the chapters grew twice the length afterwards lol). It's a rather turn-off-your-brain historical novel. I wouldn't say it's got amazing storytelling, nor is it really that thought-provoking and deeply political like some others written by established webnovel authors. It really is a don't-think-too-much-and-just-binge-it novel. It's good, but has some glaring flaws for a second chance/regressor novel.

So it's a second chance/regressor trope novel, which isn't anything new, and some might call the characters mary sue/gary sue, but hey, it's rather enjoyable with a nice romance and doting family. I can't remember much of this clearly even though I've read it at least twice, but it's been a while haha. Not going to lie, I do remember the FL not being that useful throughout the entire plot, and in fact she might've really just been pretty useless? But she wasn't necessarily a burden either. She was just being her, and like the title, pampered. I think she really is the 'damsel in distress' type, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. I do absolutely love my strong FL's (emotionally and/or physically) and they're the ones I enjoy reading more but the FL here isn't the worst I've read. It's not perfect, definitely has some obvious flaws, and after translating so much, I'm gonna have to go with my actual feeling and give it 3/5 stars from. It's just a light read, like a break from all the other angsty or heavy novels. :D

It’s an interesting story and the first 2/3 is a pleasure to read and well constructed story. Nothing novel but still enjoyable. The last third is at most ok. The romance is great and quite straightforward, many a bit too much. Would have liked a bit more of uncertainty at the beginning of their romance.

The point of a rebirth is, hopefully, to have the protagonist not fall into traps and mishaps which is why this story is especially infruriating because the female lead, Fang Miao Xin, is nothing more than an airhead with little to no ability whatsoever. She can neither protect herself nor the people around her. Likewise, the ML who only knows how to paint and yearn for the FL; meanwhile, FMX is continuously placed in dangerous situations. Tsk, what a waste.
