Some might not really like this mature type of romance. But I love it a lot. I love how they start flirting and gradually falling in love.

No heavy drama, MC died suddenly without need to revenge nor have any hatred. He didn’t receive the Ke Xinghang’s memories either, so he strife to pursue his dream once more. He truly love acting, and he does his best, working hard in it. MC is a very realistic person, mature, steady, calm. I love how this novel close to reality. No weibo war between fans, the unspeaking rules also subtle. It’s depend on the artist themself, whether they want to take advantage of that rules. There’s no love story between this rival before rebirth either. Even without rebirth theme, this could be a very warming love story. But author choose rebirth to explain the young man’s ability to act superb in his age.

I love how MC try not to fallin in love at the first time with ML. He knows the risk, he enjoy their physical entangling, he didn’t ashamed nor very grateful to receive ML aka his sugardaddy’ help, yet he knows his limit and very mature. Of course there’s still scenes where it makes me shed my tears, especially when MC finally realize, sometimes you need to open your heart and take the risk of being hurt to cherish the love you had. I think it’s beautiful and very humane because ML was not a perfect man either.

The theme is not cute fluffy romance, but about how you need to work your hard, accept reality and move on, also how to learn loving someone. Maybe this kind of mature theme is not very popular, that’s why the rating is not high. <<less

I admit, I'm a little surprised with the ratings. It's not up there but it should not also be that low.

It's a gradual process.

Though it does have support system/sugar relationship, they still have mutual respect and boundaries with each other. And it gradually shifts. They know what they're doing, they're adults.

Mc's soul is two years older than our ml. His new body is a decade younher than ml. No weibo and fan comments. This is more realistic and mature. Doesn't focus on face slapping but our MC and ml's journey.... more>> Specifically, our mc's road back to the top. No angst and heavy drama. Even the actions are written in their favor, as there is no major accidents that happen to them. On another note, I'm amazed with our MC having an identity crisis. It was also novel to see the ML needing some time to accept mc's identity and think through their relationship. Thinking if the og him exists and he's not just a personality in the host's body. ML became his anchor I guess. The identity reveal was in the later chapters. And it was much later when he revealed it to his mother. Those two are the only ones in the know. Other past close acquaintances only felt familiar with him.

I'm satisfied that they showed a lot of different films/tv series/variety show. Some areas are grey and some areas are dark and majority of the areas are sunny. They started as friends with benefits and support system with the ml. Then, after some cool down periods, they got together. It's not insta love, they know what they're doing and what they want. It was a gradual process. Some characters were forgotten. We are given a closure in the end with a child. Even their coming out to the public was a decade later. They both get along with each other's family. <<less

This is one of those stories that may most likely make you give up but once you push through, finish reading, then digesting it; that it’s actually good.

There are not a lot of rebirth via different body genres that takes the route where the new body isn’t perfect in all aspects and there’s not much detail into how they feel about their original body’s death. This story is kinda like eating watermelon. You want to savor the juicy, sweet flesh but once you start eating you discover that it's full of seeds.

The flesh of the watermelon is the interesting development of the romance between the MC and ML. The seeds are the exorbitant amounts of gender discrimination sprinkled throughout the story. I read another review that mentions that there's sexism but I truly underestimated the amount. Almost every chapter says something unnecessarily discriminatory. It's to the point that it has me wondering if the author... more>> just hates women and honestly it kinda sours the reading experience.

In addition to that, I would also like to point out that this story is not nearly as mature as many of the reviews say and I was a little disappointed. Saying that this type of writing is mature is akin to when adults see a quiet child and go "they're so mature for their age". Like, just because this story has some heavier elements than some others doesn't really make the writing mature. Honestly, a lot of the characters lack depth and the relationships and interactions tend to be superficial. The only character that really has any sort of depth is the MC and that's literally just because he's having an existential crisis for a good chunk of the story.

This isn't to say that I hate the story. In fact, it's alright and I like it enough to spend my time reading it. I would've dropped it if I felt it was unbearable it's just that I feel there are honestly a few glaring issues that drags this story down from a decent level to a mediocre one. At any rate, I would recommend taking the reviews with a grain of salt and deciding for yourself whether you feel it's a good story. <<less

I'll say, if you can handle all the hurdles of the book, I believe you'll be seeing a completely wonderful relationship.

To be honest, this novel covered almost all the emotional deprivation I felt towards transmigration novels like this. Although the nature is completely different as MC is transmigrated into a body living in the same universe as his og world, the fact is that the author did not shy away from all the things that should be covered. And I just feel a little impressed and a little moved.

Also, I... more>> do admit that if I had known this story was made by the same author from The Star Around the Sun, I would probably hesitate to continue and be worried that I'll be in for another round of emotional torture. Luckily for me, this story is a bit more heartwarming and you can definitely trust in our MC and our ML. They're both adults and have rationality their age so you can trust them.

P. S. The author is also really good at creating plots for movies so it's not that boring reading their work as actors, don't worry.

I won't add more and just convey that I'm really happy that our main are happy, that's all.

Good read whitout much twists and turns, it's simply a slice of life-entreteinment-reborn-"fluff", and I say "fluff" cuz it's too mature to be actual fluff.

MC is really too mature, he is sooo calm throughout, it was so congruent with his character that even when he wasnt freaking out about... well everithing, it didn't felt like miss oportunities, it was more like... Really original since it was so well written.

ML hottie... Well he is a good person hahaha not much to say about him in particular, but the cuple per se... more>> is supperrr cute and compatible.

I would have like it better if there was some kind of explanation bout the reborn thing cuz to die like MC died seems a bit s*upid and well without the dignity of a protagonist...?? Idk

Also about this being too mature I mean the cp is really caring for each other and they love the other deeply but they can hold it in not to show it to the media and fans un like other showbiz bl's wich was quite interesting but also a turnoff kind of hahaha can't decide if I liked it better or not

The thing about ML having a child... I always like some of that but it conflicts me that MC has no child on his own... And the fact that they were made to have the kid is uhhh!!

It almost sounded like they didn't want the child but since it's here only the biological father has a deep relationship with it... Tho MC is the one who has the most seens with him (maybe is something of the culture but I didn't get the "have to have a son just because")

Transmigration/rebirth BL where the MC wakes up in a much younger body of a different person. This person had a disability and the MC overcomes the negative mentality created by consciousness of it.

The MC and the ML start of in a wrong way, there is even a 2 fights one a breakup (that lasts a while) and the other before the ML accepts the true identity of the MC. Not a light read because of the angst.

There is no family scheme x face slapping.

Overall it was a good novel and... more>> the MC can be cute despite his age.

This is not Mpreg but there will be a kid of one of them with the help of medical services during the extra at the end.

The Li Rong x Wen Lin extra ends abruptly so there is no real confirmation of their relationship and although Li long seems obsessed with Wen Lin, he still dates and sleeps around with many women. There is a sense of a shift in his mentality at the end but then the extra stopped before we could see the real development of it. <<less

4/5, maybe lower. Acting, romance, drama. I like the side relationships between the side characters. I appreciate the eventual relationship dynamic between MC and ML, but it doesn't offset how bad the relationship originally is

The first 40 chapters are so damn uncomfortable, creepy, and skeevy. ML initiates the relationship, and the relationship is 100%, indubitably predatory, and I would not be able to stomach reading this if MC was not mentally mature. And 40 chapters is almost half the novel!@

If it's any reconciliation, ML somewhat admits... more>> that he's a creep later on somewhat, but yea...

I really enjoyed this novel since it's kind of like a slightly different type of hmm the reborn genre? I loved how the MC actually has an identity crisis when he was living in his 'new' body and how he reacted to it whether good or bad. It made the novel more realistic and unique from the others. At the same time I felt really bad for the MC when he was struggling with himself.

I also enjoyed how both the MC and ML are both mature adults that knows exactly... more>> what they want. Though there were misunderstandings, they have been resolved pretty well without dragging too much. Cute couple tbh! I also loved how protective the ML is of the MC and how the MC became more reliant on the ML. Feels gooddd <<less

Another wonderful story of rebirth and second chance! Both Lu Jinyang and Wen Jianing are film emperor, Wen Jianing pass away after winning the best actor then his soul enter the body of Ke Xinhang.. I love how the author writes and also to the translator for doing a great job!

Actually didn’t like the initial parts of this novel, but I read someone in the reviews saying they were glad they persisted bc it eventually gets better, so I also did the same and I really did end up liking it. I’m not yet done reading but I’m so hooked with the story that I can’t even put my phone down anymore. I’m a sucker for mature love stories and this one is definitely one of them 💖

Thank you so much for the translator's work in allowing us to read this lovely story.

I liked it! The past-life talents and reincarnation trope is always my favorite. At first I thought it was like MDZS or At the end of the road, but it wasn't. BUT! They do kiss kiss fall in love so I'm fine.

Being the first novel on HOH, it's absolutely amazing. Stellar romance and intrigue, the plot is captivating and I guess it's just a trait of all JGQ novels, but the MC and ML are... chef's kiss

You won't find better MLs than JGQ's, istg.

Translation team is amazing. Love reading here always :3 hehehehehe

So-so read. I didn't like the first part of the novel so it took two tries to complete it. I dropped it the first time cause MC, Wen Jianing, was too helpless. MC was 34 years old when he died before, I expected him to be stronger in character. Instead, he was a weakling repeatedly justifying his actions as having no choice.

He has no choice but to bend to ML's, Lu Jinlang, will if he wanted to succeed in the entertainment industry. This kind of thinking felt more like a shortcut by the author to have MC hooked up with ML.

ML is scummy at first too by harassing MC and wanting them to be in a relationship based on benefits.

But ML ends up falling in love first. MC maintains the mindset that theirs was a benefits relationship long after ML started loving him.
