Xie Wang and Lin Jianlu have been married for a year.

Xie Wang has always been confused.

Lin Jianlu has a cold personality and is not his type, but he’s irresistibly attracted to him and always takes the initiative.

One day, Xie Wang is reborn into his university days.

Already a popular actor, he looks everywhere for Lin Jianlu but can’t find him.

He recalls that at this time, Lin Jianlu is just a trainee.

He searches for the QQ number he remembers.

Xie Wang: Hi, I’m your future husband.

Lin Jianlu: Oh, you’re the tenth person today claiming to be my husband.

***

After going viral with a song, Lin Jianlu performs on the same stage with Xie Wang. The 19-year-old Lin Jianlu is cold and distant, and as he passes Xie Wang, he accidentally exposes the glands on his delicate neck.

On set, Xie Wang takes the script from Lin Jianlu’s hands and catches a whiff of his pheromones.

Xie Wang: ?

He remembers that before he was reborn, the first time he actively sought out Lin Jianlu and became interested in him was because a certain someone had “accidentally” left the inhibitor in his car.

Xie Wang: …

He seems to have discovered something terrific.

***

Lin Jianlu falls in love at first sight with the internet buddy who claims to be his husband.

Handsome, want to fish.

While playing a game on a variety show, Lin Jianlu intentionally trips, and the other person directly picks him up in his arms.

On a snowy day, Lin Jianlu shivers slightly, and Xie Wang throws a coat over him, wrapping him up tightly.

He’s too easy to fish.

It seems that no matter how subtle the hint, Xie Wang understands it, and even… over-interprets it?

After they get together, Lin Jianlu accidentally spills red wine on Xie Wang’s tie.

Xie Wang removes the tie: You want to f*ck again, right? No need to be so subtle.

Lin Jianlu: …No, I don’t!

A once useless fierce big wolfdog who later turns into a two-faced scheming Alpha vs. a once cold and fishing type who later becomes a dumbstruck and sweet baby O.

One line intro: My wife isn’t cold and distant? He’s a fishing type QAQ

Haven't finished reading. May contain minor spoilers (nothing important). MTL'd everything cos Chrys garden isn't done, and I'm too impatient. Also their translations r rly good and moving from that to MTL feels like leaving a mansion for a hut.

Synopsis slightly misleading, ML still doesn't know MC is his self proclaimed "husband"

It's okay, but the ML makes me uncomfortable. Maybe I'm just weird. He seems to be really into sexy aggressive alphas and that's half what him and his friend talk about. Which is okay? Ig? If not from the... more>> emphasis on aggression. We get insight into his thoughts so we can tell that he's very hot and cold, often losing his attraction the moment MC is actually nice to him/treats him like a king, and regaining it when MC is more forceful.

"Xie Wang was too gentle, so he lost interest in paying attention to him."

This was the line but made me decide to review it. There are many similar sentiments scattered throughout the novel.

"With the added anger buff, Xie Wang perfectly fits his ideal type, " - a few sentences after

Just can't wrap my head around the fact that you want someone to be aggressive out of bed (Ik some ppl r into that sexually, but in general?). Sounds like a pipeline to DV, but maybe I'm just too sensitive to those things. And maybe you don't mind, but I think it's important to know before reading.

And I'm a little sad that I may never know how the future him actually felt about his marriage to the MC.

MC is rly sweet. Some things he does ring alarm bells in my head, but ig ML is into that, so whatever. MC is super gentle, but can also also be possessive. He's the main reason I didn't drop this. Though I don't understand what he sees in ML

Dk enough to rate So I'll give it a 2 for now <<less

Not too impressed with this story, though it was a pretty easy read and I did actually manage to finish. Honestly, I'll read pretty much anything that has a gong protagonist, so I definitely stuck around mostly for that. This is a lighthearted novel, and it's definitely not one that requires any thought (probably better if you turn your brain off actually) as there's unfortunately quite a lot of plot holes.

The MC:... more>>
Spoiler

is an (alpha) actor who is also part of a really wealthy family, though his wealth surprisingly isn't focused on too much. He's reborn 4 years into the past to age 23 (?) at the start of the novel for no apparent reason, and convinces himself he's happy to be rid of his husband, who had forced him into a marriage some years back. However, upon meeting his now 19 year old husband, he of course quickly falls back in love, despite his initial denial of "not being into cold omegas."

He's a generally likeable MC, and honestly the reason I kept reading this to the end. Though he starts off as what I can only call a dumb dog, by the midpoint he definitely gained a lot more awareness, and while I found it off-putting how little he communicated, he was at least a little better than the ML in that regard. He's pretty much your standard devoted and doting gong.

The ML:
Spoiler

is a seemingly cold up-and-coming singer/current college student who's actually just extremely h**ny and pretending not to be. He was amusing at first, but I got really tired of his back and forth behavior- he never says what he means, he's always hiding his real feelings, and he's very hot and cold about his interest in the MC. I frankly found his lack of communication really immature, and it was hard to understand his behavior as he's just so fake. I'd give him some grace in that he's only 19 in the present, but also after 4 years of marriage in the past timeline he literally never changed, so it's hard to make that argument.

The ML also gets really caught up on the idea that MC only likes him because of his cold persona, so that's why he feels like he needs to keep up the cold persona, but why even be so cold in the first place? His actions just had no reasonable basis to them, and it made it really hard for me to empathize with him or even just like him very much. I find this character archetype of the cold shou to be really unappealing when there's no compelling psychological reason for it (not to mention how he's also just faking it the whole time).

[collapse]

If you really enjoy ABO and gong protagonists, it's an alright read, but otherwise I'd probably pass on this one. I feel like I lost brain cells trying to justify the ML's behavior, and the romance was mostly just fade to black papapa without any true connection between the leads. It all felt very surface level between them, and I didn't like how ML's interest for MC was primarily focused on MC's hot body and his occasional alpha macho man aggression. Just a weird dynamic.

The whole plot line is also basically centered around a single movie where MC and ML play a married couple in this crime thriller, plus an escape room variety show thrown in between. I honestly did not understand much of the actual plot of the movie or the variety show and it seems like they both were just randomly thrown together to make the characters interact with each other. Definitely don't read this just for the showbiz, as it's more relationship focused than anything! <<less

A fun, lighthearted novel with a comedic and sweet dynamic between the main couple and not much thought put into the showbiz aspect.

I was pleasantly surprised by the character development both of the leads go through and I really like where their relationship settles by the end. It takes the MC going back to the past to understand the ML and help them reach the same page, but we do get to know that in the past ... more>>

the ML did have affection for the MC and treated him as his most important person

. It was sweet seeing the ML fall in love with the MC in this timeline and although he goes through a lot of messy internal struggles, he’s an insecure 19 year old who fortunately gets support from the MC (Who was the immature one in his first timeline).

It was somewhat difficult to follow the plot of what else was happening outside of the relationship, mostly the showbiz aspect. The movie, variety shows, and other promotional events are just kind of spontaneously introduced as a set up for cute interactions. The plot with ML’s family isn’t given too much detail, and the side characters are humorous but we don’t learn too much about them. <<less

A very beautiful read, I love the author’s way of writing AO relationships.

Their past lives are heartbreaking but I’m glad they got a second chance. Beautiful dynamic between the two, wish there was more.

It's great for short read. Pretty straightforward for most part as it's mainly focused on the relationship between the MC and ml. It's just that it's really really just focus on their relationship only, which can make the world feel kinda empty.

Looking forward to the extras though!! \ ( ̄▽ ̄) /

It's pretty good for a fast read. Though something does not makes sense for me is how MC's feelings evolve from not liking his type then proceeds to miss him and gone for him.

Anyways, I felt like the ending was quite abrupt, I was looking forward to the wedding. And also, I felt that ML's family dynamics and overall, something is missing for me. It wasn't explored at all yet the story ended with them live-in with eachother.
