When the old beast Pixiu went out to throw away the garbage, a male ghost fell into his arms just after he finished categorizing the garbage.

This male ghost was named Wen Xi, and he was as beautiful as a flower. Not only that, but he was also soft and cool to the touch, which meant he was perfect for Pixiu to use as an ice pillow. After all, Pixiu had been punished by the Heavens, and was doomed to endure insufferable hotness surging inside his body.

Although Pixiu swore to the Heavens that he was only using the ghost as an ice pillow, no one believed him.

Pixiu: “Even if the red thread of fate holds my body, my heart is that of a bachelor!”

Wen Xi, who was sealed in a fermentation jar for hundreds of years, was finally released to the world…..only to find himself turned into a child-bride to pay off his debts.

However, this “Husband” of his was also a self-employed beast, who had to pay taxes and repay loans every month.

Wen Xi: “Is the other Pixiu as miserable as you are?”

Although those two were a mess, they turned out to be a good match in the end. Even Yue Lao gave them a marriage interview.

The only thing Pixiu knew to say was that finding a beautiful wife was fairly easy. You just have to be good at sorting through garbage.

In other words: I picked up my wife in the garbage can.

FINALLY. Gosh, I have been waiting for someone to translate this for years. I started reading the novel after I finished reading the last update of the manhua version. And boy, I RECOMMEND it (You can legally read it in bilibili comics btw)

I'm not good at reviews so I will make this quick.

Let's start with the main characters relationship; Pixiu and wen xi, They have an extremely ambiguous relationship. Heh, So basically pixiu has this illness where he constantly feels hot and since wen xi is well... a ghost,... more>> he always pulls him into his arms to "cool himself off" which then makes some people misunderstood, but even so, they still kept the intimacy.

You don't have to worry about fluff here, because every chapter basically has them sticking to each other like glue.

There relationship started pretty rocky with pixiu constantly making wen xi remember his past and also calling him his cooling furnace. But you don't have to worry, They do quickly warm up to each other. They have a fluffy relationship— they support and care for each other alot.

All in all, its a cute novel and manhua. And I recommend reading it in both versions. <<less

FINALLY! It is here! I only read shouMC novels but I can't resist this one! The comedy, the plot, and the romance are all in it!

The gist of the story is that Pixiu was bankrupted by Taotie after Taotie tricked him, leaving him with nothing so he had to start from the scratch. The worse thing is, after Pixiu complained to the Heaven (Tiandao), not only Tiandao mocked him but also punished him by making Pixiu's body heated whenever his temper flared up (thus it became literal flaring up), and... more>> if not solved, Pixiu would explode.

The story started when Pixiu who was taking out tr*sh found Wen Xi's urn and found out that it smelled of Taotie. He decided to keep the ghost inside the urn, in which the ghost is also cool which could solve his other problem of his body heating up (such a windfall). Then starts their (mis) adventures along with the other funny characters.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! <<less

I was hooked by the manhua. So here I am dropping a my comment and rating.

I truly enjoyed the novel and manhua. It was very entertaining, lovely, and fluffy.

First of all, I now ML and MC's relationship was predestined. But their relationship really did grow via their interactions. The simple hugging for cooling down the ML's body constitution turned into cuddling. They went a long road to get their first kiss. But! It was worth it to read. You weren't bored at all. It's on point. The most that made... more>> me stay is the comedy between everyone. Yes. The interactions with our ship are really good. It's subtle. Yes. But dang hit hard. Ya know, I'm grateful to Taoti for making this happen lol. He technically introduced the couple or more as an ever-so-proud wingman lol.

All I say is that this is a very entertaining novel that makes you blush, smile, and be in a good mood. This gives you a break from s*um driven yaoi out there ahhahaha

Btw. Chapter 87 of Manhua, from what I remember, is chapter 62 in the novel.

edit: sorry I was really tired from school and work and babysitting so my grammar was so off. But! I swear again that the story is simple, maybe long, but fulfilling. The dynamics of all the couples in the novel are really good. ML is very respectful and very caring to MC (which I envy the most). <<less

Glad I found the manhua first! (◍•ᴗ•◍) ❤ yay! This is highly, highly recommended!

The story revolves around mystical/mythical gods living in a modern day era, the story will introduced you to Chinese mythology with a twist. The side characters made a huge difference to the story.

The MC's chibi... arghhhh! So freaking cute omg!♥ (ˆ⌣ˆԅ) The relationship of MC and ML's so sweet and cute. The MC's back story is so sad and his sister's, Qianniang's sacrifice to saved his brother that all went naught. Their entire clan was wiped out... more>> because of one of the god's pettiness's, good thing Taotie was able to help both siblings in the process.

Special shoutout to the side characters and to the side couples! (◕‿◕✿) Lil broom is so cute and Ren Jiao, Taotie and Wen Qian, Yang Jian and lil Tian! I think this is the story with the most side couples I've ever read! And I am not complaining, not at all!

And the talent portion that went haywire!lol I was waiting for secondhand embarassment with Pixiu's talent portion part.. but oh boy! I didn't expect it to be an eye candy! 🔥💰

Also, to the other side charaters, the five lil monkeys, teacher Nezha, Qiu Fu, Feng Du, Suzhen and the names I couldn't remember! lol

That said while waiting for the translation for this one to finish, go ahead and read the manhua first, you will definitely enjoy the rollercoaster ride! happy reading! <<less

I found this novel through its manhua adaptation on Billibilli, and I'm so glad I did. I like that this story brings in Chinese mythology with a modern twist! I've started reading the novel version after having caught up on the manhua. I can't wait to read this!
