simply because the ML and FL's compassion is contagious. Also, I don't think any of the "villains" were particularly evil, though Iselle is definitely teetering on that edge. He loved FL, enough to save her and even confessed that he would visit her just to find ways to see her smile, but that unfortunately grew into something more twisted.

The story didn't really delve deeply into FL's family or the fate of Lysa, and specifically, Tanit. She's a very complicated character, and in my opinion, tragic, because she's becoming the ruler of a falling kingdom and basically has to choosd between being an older sister or being a ruler. I stand by the belief that people are shaped by their environment, so I don't think Tanit at all was a villain, rather her family's dynamic and their secrets just cornered her into that position. In Tanit and Rosetta's last conversation, Tanit says that Rosetta will one day understand what her sacrifice was, but this was never explicitly mentioned again (unless I missed it). In my opinion, what she sacrificed was her innocence and her family's bond. Her grandfather taught her that when two suns rise to the sky, one has to fall, and by letting Rosetta out of the basement, she allowed that to happen. Though I'm not denying that she has a sour personality; she still wanted to oppress Rosetta, and looks down on others like they're fodder. She and her parents have to all live by the fact that they allowed their child/sister to be hurt for power, and eventually Tanit had to succumb to her feelings of jealousy and fear of Rosetta, and tried to force her to comply for the sake of Lysa.
