I'll never understand the mindset of people who read things like this. Do you people get off to it?

This is just the main character getting tortured. There isn't hope, there isn't joy, and there isn't a reason to live. Genuinely speaking, she should probably just go through with her plans of su*cide because she lives in hell.

What kind of world does she live in that it is okay to torture somebody in front of a crowd of others? Is her dad fantasy hi*ler? If hi*ler had a kid I'm pretty... more>> sure people wouldn't do something this cruel.

The story is just constant misery for the sake of misery. Stories that are messed up are meant to have some genuine happy moments to contrast, to have something to look forwards to. This story has none of that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ending of the story is she just dies, the end.

Even if the story eventually has hope of light at the end of the tunnel or whatever, the situation is so ridiculously evil and horrible it goes straight through comedically awful, and right back into mentally damaging.

If somebody put a gun to my head and asked me to recommend this to somebody, I'd ask them to shoot me.

Edit: having skipped ahead later it just gets worse. Read this if you like the torture and degradation of the mind of a teenager I guess. I'd pay real American dollars to give this negative stars. I suppose some people may enjoy this, considering some of the comments I found for this that made me genuinely start gagging. I suppose if you're in that demographic please do enjoy, because there isn't enough time or money in the world to get you the therapy you need. <<less

So the premise of this story is that apparently, noble blood is somehow valuable, like it has magical properties or something. It's also incredibly difficult to acquire, because nobles are nobles.

So our fallen duke's daughter is an incredibly rare commodity. She's sold into s*avery to a shady organization that wants to use her as a living blood bag - they want her to live as long as possible so they can keep draining her of blood for who knows what. Problem, she keeps trying to kill herself.

So their solution is... more>> to send her to school to give her hope they can rip away. At the school they have people to torture her, all with the goal that she'll eventually break enough to be an obedient unresisting bloodbag.

It's pretty awful. BUT. The interesting part is that also at the school are a small but growing cast of characters that slowly learn about the situation and want to save her. Furthermore, the shady organization's influence inside the school is very limited, aside from a few of their agents acting as students and teachers, they don't even know what goes down inside.

I've read a few stories like this, so far this one is by far the most tolerable. Other entries in this genre always seem to introduce a male love interest and then her suffering is no longer about her, the story starts being about how torturing her effects the male lead. And around then is when the protagonist usually breaks entirely and stops being a character with feelings or thoughts of her own. This has not done that yet. In fact they seem to be doing something a lot more interesting? I'll note that a childhood friend named Hans also exists and has not yet appeared in the story, though. He could very well still turn out to play that role I just mentioned, it's early days. If he does I'll drop it immediately.

It has introduced a love interest, but because it's

the girl *doing* the torturing... it makes for a really interesting and complex character with conflicting motivations in a very unique position to actually influence the main events, but not enough power to immediately change anything outright. She's probably the only character on the princess's side with a clear picture of what's really happening. BUT. She can't appear to be on her side, if she stops torturing the protagonist they'll just kill her and her family and replace her with some other torturer. She also struggles with the realization she's a lesbian in a medieval setting where that gets you killed if it gets out. And the selfish motivation that this position allows her to be close to the princess she'd otherwise never even see...

In all, not a good person by ANY stretch, but a very interesting character with a lot of depth and great potential to drive the plot. A total wildcard I hope the author plays well. My sixth sense says they'll drop the ball and ruin everything the second Hans gets a speaking part though.

Tbh if I were writing this it would actually probably be from Sena's point of view instead, it would have a lot more storytelling potential that way. Uncovering who the villainess actually is, what's happened to her, who's behind it, why her friend (boyfriend?? We don't know the relationship so far) Hans is actually a traitorous monster/the worst character and everything is all his fault, trying to befriend and then save her, thinking the queen bee bully is the main villain only to find that maybe she's a twist ally against the real villain, etc. Sera's position where she knows everyone involved individually but doesn't actually know what's happening makes her perfect protagonist material, would've been way better.

In all there are a few very good and interesting characters here, I want to see if the author utilizes them well. <<less

Honestly speaking this isn't all that interesting. So far it's about this guy who is completely normal and gets transported into the body of a girl, and in this body all that there is, is suffering, be it physical mental and that she wants to commit su*cide which in my opinion is perfectly valid.

There is some semblance of a story in it but it's mostly fetish content about a girl in pure agony because in one of the chapters home girl/guy fr almost dies because of torture and then gets... more>> brought back just to get tortured more.

Overall I think this is just OC backstory material. If you want a dark backstory for your OC something like this would suffice and overall it's not a very enjoyable series as there's no goal, barely any massive story developments and no real backbone to it. <<less

I like feeling awful from stories as much as the next person, and despite what Genre Exhauster's review says there are some redeeming points.

That being said, there is one element to the story at this point that I cant in good conscience reccomend even for people into the most depressing stories on here: ... more>>
Spoiler

the character that outright tortures, drugs and outright ab*ses the MC is given a mini-redemption arc. It was just sort of lazy, but even if we assume it is planned out the character motivation makes very little sense overall at this point in the story and will take A LOT of work to justify in the long run.

.

I can understand where the author was coming from, and I understand they needed to balance the story out slightly. Is it enough to stop me from adding it to the pile of slop I will read out of boredom? No. But it IS enough for me to say that unless you are truly desperate for depression fuel you should move along. On the plus side, the Translation hasn't had any issues that I've noticed up to this point. <<less
