The most gentle and sensible little lover around Yan Chen ran away.

A person who he even kept track of medical expenses for and owed him money, but when leaving, also took along two unlimited credit cards.

Watching the big spending records with cold eyes, Yan Chen’s interest grew stronger.

Finally, one late night, he cornered the person in a luxury hotel’s presidential suite.

Seeing the third person in the suite, Yan Chen gritted his teeth, “Didn’t you keep saying you love me? How long has it been, and you’re already fooling around with someone else.”

An Yi smiled, returning Yan Chen’s own words to him word for word.

“I love you, but I never said I only love you.”

An Yi stood on the rooftop.

Before falling, he wanted to pull out all the knives Yan Chen had stuck in his heart.

He also wanted to indulge in the pleasures of the flesh and understand why Yan Chen didn’t want his love but preferred the worldly pleasures.

*Yan Chen (top) X An Yi (bottom), two years apart in age, Happy Ending.

*Bottom (An Yi) is reserved and paranoid in the early stage, but confronts the top (Yan Chen) later.

*The top starts off arrogant and promiscuous, then cries and begs later on.

*First, the bottom is tortured, then the top, and after breaking up, the bottom has relations with someone else.

*Dramatic and over-the-top, feel free to criticize the characters but not the author.

*Not sure if it counts as a wife chasing crematorium.

Sigh, please read it until complete before writing, if not, it will be a tr*sh review

Also, read the tags, if you are a kind that soft cannot read angst, tragedy and always like fluffy novel on clouds, with ML who always save the day, this is not a novel for a soft cookie like you.

Just because you prefer a fluffy one and a light novel, does not mean others is the same. You can give review but don't rate it, it's not nice. This story is good.

It connects with reality,... more>> maybe some cannot handle it but I think for the people who like to read tragedy novel, self love after giving too much to wrong people, this is a nice story.

It's the up and down of life is what makes it good, if not it just like you're dead already.

This story so melodramatic, I like it, my eyes are puffy, I finish it in 2 days, it's a good read. It's so hard to find novel like this nowadays since many people like those fluffy novel more. Op MC and ML everything.

No one likes an imperfect character like this. But, imperfect things are what makes it beautiful and have a little taste of life. There is nothing that is that perfect in this world.

A little advice is read and determined wether this is your cup of tea or not, and if it isn't, please move along <<less

Enjoyed it!

Quite generic with tropes and cliches but the author had done it in a very nice way, was not bored throughout, and enjoyed it immensely.

It was melodramatic as promised and I was all for it.

P.S. I just loved loved the characters. The ML deserved a good beating, but he made up for it and the MC is just the best.

Not bad, not bad at all.

The melodrama served its purpose. I usually avoid dog blooded novels but somehow I picked this one and didn't regret reading it one bit. I don't care what others say but I personally like YC's character development. Sometimes in life, you undergo change inexplicably and not everything can be changed. Him realizing that he had been beyond sh*t to AY and then trying to figure out how to make amends and keeping consistent in his efforts for half a decade is something I rarely see in crematorium novels. Most of... more>> the times, MCs are quick on the forgiving part but I am glad AY persisted till he figured that he still had some feelings, feelings enough to give both of them a chance. I do agree on one point with mintflavored above, and that was YC's reaction to Anya's death, that was plain dumb imo. <<less

Recommended to read!!!

This novel is quite good. It has the wife chasing plot where the MC was thoroughly disappointed by the ML. When the MC was in love with the ML, ML took it for granted and treated him like a boy toy, a possession. After the MC left him, he was then angered. From numerous vain attempts to get back the MC, he slowly understood how much harm he had caused the MC mentally and physically and it was almost impossible to bring him back. Both were mentally tortured... more>> for years even when they were apart.

The MC finds himself in a new light away from the ML. He slowly comes out from his gloomy past and sees that the ML who was once in the light was drowning in a darkness which he was familiar with. Then the MC gives the ML and himself a chance and starts anew.

Wife chasing part was dragged for so long. It was very satisfying, watching the s*um ML being tortured for his own s*upid but cruel actions.

Except for the melodrama, which was written well, there were not many plus points if I were to be honest. There was character development of both MC and ML. MC learned not to live for others, as for ML he learned what was love and how to love. Let's add it as a plus point.

Although this was bitter, when reading, I could not put down the novel.

If you want to read a story where they go through a break up and has many sympathetic scenarios, you can give this a try. It will make you feel heart ache. Don't worry though, this has a happy ending. <<less

First of all I wanna say many thanks to the author, she/he is very kind <a bit funny though> to always warns the reader that this story is melodrama. So a lot of tears rolling down on my face is expected.

The translation is also very smooth.

I recommend this story to all of you out there. It's written very deep.

... more>> I feel sad, sorry and pity to both MC and ML. Fortunately it will be HAPPY at the END <My tears are not in vain after all>.

Btw my only dissatisfaction is the title, why Professional Lover?

This is added to the list of my fave danmei. <<less

Okay, so, I did not like the story for the following reasons:

  • underbaked characters;
  • did not properly show the change in character (the why to be exact for the change) for 3 out of the characters (it was too sudden for me, without much explanation) ;
  • they decided to focuse on the melodrama and did not pay enough attention to the bonds between characters and write appropiate reactions for them (felt like the most important parts were rushed).
I will use a spoiler to specify what I mean with the above. Though my issues... more>> were numerous and it had nothing to do with the dogblood or messiness.

Hats off to the translator though, they managed to keep me reading this D- story.

Even if you are bored and want to read something quick and angsty, there are better stories out there for that.

Spoiler

The characters have potential in the beginning and it's clear the author can write emotional scenes and is able to make some of the characters feel like, you know, not wooden spoons. But that quickly gets thrown out of the window.

All the characters end up acting OOC. A bunch of sh*t happens for no tangible reason. Characters are just therd, feel like nothing, just to push the plot forward.

Everything the author does feels like a mokery of their previous ability to write a close and realistic bond between thr brothers, showing the exhaustion and pain of having your only relative on borrowed time in the hospital. It tugs at your heartstrings because it's realistic and sad. Everything about that has a why, a reason, some push behind their every action. It's palpable, to me, that the author has the capacity to deliver something decent.

But I guess it's too much to keep that going, because after a certain death, everything is superficial and in bad taste imho. I will not bother go into details or why the story and flow and characters suck so much and how everything is way below lackluster, but I do want to mention that I found it incredibly dumb how ML is so close to the little sister, it's clear to some capacity he cares about her, enough to show up and see her several times, but when she dies he is 0% impacted and it's like the person that died had nothing to do with him.

The characters falling in and out of love is poorly written. And the dogblood, faceslapping and chasing is extremely unsatisfacatory.

I will edit this for any mistakes later, since I am on break from work as of now. <<less

I enjoyed this specifically based on the author's own words: "the insecure learning to love themselves, and the arrogant learning to love others'.

Going in, I decided to treat it as an over-the-top story which was meant to entertain though maybe not enlighten. But, you know what? It was deeper than I expected.

In the beginning, there's angst, noncon relations, hurtful comments and actions. And you get to a point where you've given up on the ML... but after realizing what he's lost, he manages to begin the painful growth of becoming... more>> a real human.

The author commented regularly that it was "full of melodrama" and advised the reader "if you feel uncomfortable, abandon the story in time". For what the author had ability-wise, I believe they did a good job of bringing this novel to a satisfying ending.

Thanks to the author and to the translator, Shanghai Fantasy. <<less

This is a story about two people with extreme personality problems entangled in a toxic relationship. You hope for some kind of redemption at the end but as you read you get to change your mind.

Spoiler

The MC is beholden to the ML due to monetary circumstances caused by a life that's depending on him but also has traces of affection he held for the ML when they were younger. He (mc) was your typical soft but bright young flame but then came the debt collectors and parents su*cides. You can imagine the burdens and self esteem issues that followed. ML runs into him few yrs later and becomes the help covered with thorns. Physical and mental torment follow accepting the help. And I mean the kind of awful that means mental problems and the flame is slowly extinguished. After twists and turns and almost ending his life he manages to free himself but the ML with his insanity follows like a demon. The issue I have with the story is the ML's pursuit was centered around possessiveness, someone who had treated the other like he did still had the audacity to continue stalking and inconveniencing cz he didn't want to lose. No matter how it turned out all his actions were ultimately for his own benefit regardless of the repeated wishes of the MC. Who would really treat one they cherish in that way..? He just happened finally wear down someone who was still recovering from his ab*se. Not forgetting the MC's weak will. Otherwise who would put their hand back into the furnace after getting burnt.. With the amount of cruelty displayed by the ML all those years enough to cause PTSD, the ending was a little..

[collapse]

That's why I say that the redemption one hopes for at the end is.. Quite meh. <<less
