A woman who died from an incurable disease was reincarnated in a magical world.

A magical world.

In this world, 70% of the population were magicians. Magicians would create their own magic, imbued with their wishes, and grow along with the magic they created.

Yoo Eunha, the reincarnated woman, was completely captivated by the mysterious charm of magic, something she had only seen in comics or novels in her previous life. To top it off, Yoo Eunha was an extraordinary genius, capable of creating magic at the age of five!

However, the world was vast, and Eunha was not the only genius.

“You… are peculiar.”

The first friend she met through her parents’ connection.

“Don’t look down on me!”

“Hmph.”

“Huh? What’s going on? You shouldn’t fight!”

The friends she made at school.

“Do you think magic is a game?”

And… a connection from her past life.

Yoo Eunha grew while being intertwined with many people and amidst various incidents and accidents. She laughed, cried, got angry, and chatted; at times, it was difficult and exhausting, but when she looked back, she could describe those days as happy.

However, this world was far from a peaceful one.

The story has no romance tag, but it has romance. A wild ML appears in the 400 chapter mark or so, and he is an OP iceberg who is very rude to the ML.

I actually wrote a 5000 word essay about why he is the worst, but it got deleted and contained mild spoilers, so I'll add on a explanation of why he is horrible and acts more like an antagonist in a spoiler before I get to the general review;

For one, ML is depicted as a cool, silent iceberg, but he's actually just a rude jerk. He continously mocks and looks down on MC for being weak. Author's excuse is that he hates to see the MC 'wasting her talent due to her soft peaceful personality', but it gets to the point where MC ignores him at first, then fights, cries, and yells at him to stop and that it isn't his business, BUT HE DOESN'T STOP BEING A JERK. MC's the one who has to swallow her self respect and play nice in the end.

It doesn't matter that she's working to be a supporter and not a fighter, doesn't matter that her serious attacks are actually all lethal, he wants her to fight seriously against him, and will force her to do so. And if MC loses on purpose, he just attacks her outside the duel arena to get her to fight him, injuring her in the process.

And he has the strength to do that. ML is stronger than the MC, knows more, and wins against her in everything. Magic, battles, test scores. And when MC chooses crafting as her major, it is revealed that ML is... actually better at art, too. And he chooses crafting too, and teases MC for her pathetic art skills.

MC only outshines ML in support (barrier magic, spacetime magic, teleportation, etc) and number of friends, cuz the entire school (rightfully) hates the ML for how he treats the MC. Their classmates don't even let him near her. Sadly, the teachers are different, and keep pairing up the two.

MC does not turn braindead due to the ML, which is why this hurts even more. She treats him as he isn't there, and doesn't let him know much about her. But it doesn't work, and MC, tired, gives up and plays nice to avoid hurting her friends and causing trouble. She gives in to the ML and treats him better and asks him to teach her magic. Which he is an expert at, even more so than her.

But then why does the MC romantically like him? If she isn't braindead?

He is the reincarnation of a guy she loved and promised to marry in her past life. Who also happened to be the only person who cared for her then. Destiny and trauma is the only reason they are together.

But before the awful OP ML appears and bullies the MC, the story is a sweet story about a bunch of kids being friends, living out their lives in a modern fantasy world, and the star of the show is our MC.

She's the star, but it isn't overdone, either. MC actually functions more as support, learning magic for fun, and her friends are the attackers. Not that MC can't fight, she does and will kill if she has to, but she prefers support and peaceful solutions over violent ones, so it balances out her OPness.

The story has a yuri esque vibe in early chapters, but any romantic hints before the ML arrives (in the start of the middle school arc) can be ignored, for it sizzles into nothing.

In short, a good story until romance shows up. Quitting in the middle school arc is recommended. <<less

It's like eating food that tastes slightly off, but you're not sure if it's because the food has gone bad or if it's supposed to taste like that.

Spoiler

Supposedley lives for 2 different lifetimes and this is the 3rd life. Has lived for over 100+ combined years. Also crashes out against a 7 year old and has crippling social anxiety.

Just feels off, could've had the story be about a child who got memories of past lives. Instead we get a 100 year old woman with late stage dementia that experiences "character growth" by returning to baseline.

After 100+ years of life across THREE lifetimes, surely you would have a bit of worldly knowledge?? What are you doing???

Half of the plot points are introduced by foreshadowing in the form of directly telling the reader who and what will be the point of contention. And even then, it's told from the POV of the MC, which means anything we know as readers, so does she!! You are 100+ years old!! Do something!!!!

I only stuck around for so long because I was hoping for a power reveal payoff, and by the time I got to the chapter where it finally happens, I hit the free chapter limit. And when I check a couple days later, fenrir realm deleted the novel from their website. Currently as of march 21st 2025 the links are 404'd.

Edit:

Like what was the point of adding this as part of the character setting? It was literally 1 sentence mentioned in passing and literally never comes up in the story ever again. (Up to the point I read) It could've easily have been left out, with only the previous life as character motivation and experience. Even then, you would still be left with a 40+ mentally old character which isn't any better. Instead, this character is walking around as a half baked wannabe buddha, living a power fantasy, and struggling with the social intrigue of ELEMENTARY SCHOOL??? Grow up!! You had a century to figure that out!!!

THIS is the character background and the basis upon which the author builds their motivation, decision making, and story direction. Why? For what purpose?

I get that the story is supposed to be a start from scratch, slow burn slice of life type deal. But there's a reason why so many novels about reincarnation do timeskips over childhood portions. Having someone this mentally developed trying to fit in and act like a child is so off putting, that to base an entire novel off of the premise is so strange.

This isn't even mentioning the odd power scaling, world building, and other details which are half baked inspirations if not nonsensical. I'll suspend my disbelief a little because it's a fantasy novel, but when you have children casually using time and space magic and altering rules of causality as your most basic of the basic magic, you have to wonder how the entire world setting hasn't already exploded.

You just shouldn't add ingredients for the sake of adding more ingredients if they don't do anything for the dish. <<less
