Translation Review: From when I left this review, only 36 chapters have been translated and so far it's not that great, but I wouldn't say it's that bad. Overall Review: The story showcase short stories, each with its own different male protagonist and their female target. Yes, we have 20 unique male protagonist each representing a story in this novel.

This is more of a s*umbag Reborn System. Where our main characters (MCs) goes on to possess s*umbage male protagonist and correct their aweful deed. In each story our female lead (FL) is always the supposed second female lead of the story that had been outshined by the OG!FL.

Background; Rationale to the missions and system:

Spoiler

All our MC are underworld officials that are tasked to complete their mission (saving the world and getting merits) and find a wife, a.k.a "Escaping Being Single dog For Thousands Years".

[collapse]

My opinion as to this kind of plot in general:

Spoiler

Most of the stories are the type of stories you read where cannon fodder faceslaps the main protagonists for being s*umbags, but instead the male protagonist is literally taken out of the world and replaced by a proper human being. And so sometimes, you couldn't help but not want MC and FL to be together and instead for MC to suffer. Thankfully:

  1. Most stories ends up with s*umbags getting their retribution by their own original ending with karma biting them back.
  2. Author later on shows the final verdict or what happend to these original male protagonist, showing that although we don't see it, they are being punish for what they did.

But I think it's a missed opportunity to instead have these stories as their previous life and them going back to fix it and reclaim their wifey. But I understand this would make the story different as the author would have to reduce how s*umbag the male protagonist actually are to be redeemable.

[collapse]

Also in most of these stories, OG!FL are shown to only be powerful due to the world's blessing which is mostly in the name of the male protagonist (the male protagonist IS their golden finger, lol). And so, the moment the male protagonist is switched, they get their deserve ending. Tho, sometimes unsatsifying as it's clearly shown that the only reason our FL and male protagonist ended up together is because of the transmigration.

But this is thankfully solved when author furthered in distinguishing the two: our MC and OG!Male protagonist (OG!MP), even allowing FL to be aware of this change. And that even in their original timeline, these s*umbags will still have a bitter ending.

Sometimes the OG!FL is a good character that is also ruined by the s*umbag OG!MP. My only problem is that I don't personally like how the author write most of these stories. The author is way more lenient to OG!FL even if they also have their own screw ups like the OG!ML.

This might be due to how the author seemed to be a bit toxic feminist.

Spoiler

Author is quite bias with her female characters than male characters, always saying rude stuff about how a typical man is while praising her female. Like there was at one story where the author just keep on recycling how men likes weak girl over and over again. I have to emphasize this just to be clear: OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The entire plot felt entirely about that. Thankfully the author later put on a more decent explanation.

This is also further shown in the extra, where we can only see the judgement made for the OG!MP and nothing about the OG!FL.

[collapse]

BTW, This story is very patriotic. Like believing that officials are not corrupt and you should do your best for your country.

Recommendation Before Reading this:

Spoiler

Read: Like Pearl and Jade if you want to better understand noble intrigue and its importance.

Read: Eight Treasure Trousseau if you want to better understand imperial power between princes and their women and familial relationships.

[collapse]

SOME WARNINGS

Most stories have killings. Beside that

7th World: Attempted r*pe and Low Key in*est.

11th World: Low Key Teacher-Student Relationship and Anti-LGBT.

15th World: Unsure Stockholm Syndrome?

16th World: Miscarriage and Abortion.

17th World: Low Key in*est?

The novel was a bit lackluster but I liked the premise of the second female lead getting the life she deserves. I just finished arc 4 at the point of this review, the couples are really cute. Also I like how for a lot of the characters the author takes the path of redemption for them rather than making it so a villain can only have bad thoughts. Like arc 1 with the mc’s brothers and arc 3 w the mc’s nephews

I do not believe the author is a toxic... more>> feminist, tbh I think saying that is a bit of an exaggeration. And I also don’t think the novel is super patriotic. Yes the author runs on the beliefs that the officials should do the best for their country which was very much displayed in the novel, but there were multiple instances of corrupt officials. There was no time when the author tried instilling that officials aren’t corrupt.

All in all I really like the gentler solutions used in this novel, not every original female lead is evil, and not every original female lead gets a completely harsh ending. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to the other novels where the author tortures the original female lead simply because she’s the original female lead despite her not being that bad of a person herself. I like reading about a bunch of wife s*aves, it’s really cute.

The only discontent I have with this novel is that I feel like the MCs don’t get identities that are challenging enough, they also hardly have to struggle to achieve their goals, it’s really smooth sailing for the main characters which can make it a bit boring to read sometimes, but so far it’s pretty good! Will have to see how the future chapters turn out and update this review. <<less

While the novel is decent there is a distinct lack of actual romance. It feels more focused on showing why the male lead is awesome rather than focusing on the secondary female leads. They feel like afterthoughts by the author rather than the focus.
