Quietly Hiding that I am a Man

I got transmigrated into a BL novel I wrote.

The difference from other BL novels?

The villainess who gets abandoned by his fiancé and eventually executed… is actually a man!

ab*sed by his adoptive father, tormented by his siblings, neglected by his fiancé, and brainwashed by the mastermind.

Every event in the novel pointed towards Jeanne’s tragic end.

A cruel world where everyone despises Jeanne.

Knowing the original plot, I came up with an idea.

And that was to create a ‘fake miracle’ to make Jeanne appear like a saint.

So, I decided to use the original story to transform Jeanne from a villainess into a saint… but then…

“Jeanne, don’t forget. After the coming-of-age ceremony, you’re going to bear my child.”

From the fiancé, the crown prince who had neglected Jeanne,

“As expected, you’re different. It was a good idea to name our daughter in advance.”

Even the mastermind who tormented Jeanne starts becoming obsessed with her.

The problem? They don’t know that I’m a man.

As the threats begin closing in, I’m determined to keep Jeanne’s secret.

Because I have no intention of ending up like the original Jeanne, with my head on the guillotine!

I like the concept, the setting, MC personality, the timeline and everything but I just hate both MLs.

I think I have a weak mind with how pushy Jerome getting because it’s annoying and I think I wanna drop this even though I love MC so so much but I can’t stand both ML being pushy (not just both of them but all of the male potential gong too lol) and only think about what they want with no consideration to MC feelings it’s pissing me off more than just out... more>> rightly r*pe MC directly, fk it’s the same thing. Maybe because I read the under restrictions 15 years old instead of the 19 years old? But oh well, will go back and try to finish what I bought later lol <<less

Quietly Hiding that I am a Man offers a refreshing twist on the popular villainess-redeeming trope. The protagonist, who is also the original author of the story, finds himself reincarnated as Jenna—the villainess of his own creation, a character despised by everyone and doomed to a tragic end. With insight into the original plot, he must craft a "fake miracle" to reinvent Jenna as a saint, all while hiding his identity and avoiding the grim fate he originally wrote for her.

The clever twist here is that the protagonist is now... more>> pitted against his own storyline, scrambling to rewrite Jenna’s path, avoid the guillotine, and maintain the illusion of saintliness despite being surrounded by characters who only saw the original villain. And as his adoptive family, the mastermind antagonist, and even the crown prince—who once ignored Jenna—start to grow uncomfortably attached to the “new saint, ” the stakes grow even higher.

  1. However, the only reason I'm giving this novel 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the grammar and clarity issues. Pronoun mistakes and unclear dialogue tags can make it challenging to track who is speaking, disrupting the flow and some of the tension. With a thorough edit, these issues could be resolved, making Quietly Hiding that I am a Man a truly standout novel. If polished, this story could easily become a gripping, high-stakes take on the genre that keeps readers guessing until the very end.

So far I have loved it! It's a novel that hooks you from the very first moment. I find the MC quite funny and it's clever, which is appreciated, so far there is no obvious ML but the possible candidates don't displease me. They are different from each other and have an entertaining dynamic to read with the MC. The plot is good, it has some things that throw you off a bit but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of story.

This novel surprisingly got me so hooked (despite the bad translation that irritates me so bad, it feels barely edited n gives u headaches, so better stay away n hope for better translation to come if u want a smooth reading) . I expected a crazy possessive ML n thank you, that's what I get.

The story is gripping and the characters are well fleshed out and the humor are there too. The MC is the author of the story he got transmigrated into, so when he tells us how his... more>> readers got mad n quit reading at some bad decisions he made in the story n he reflected on it, I laughed coz it felt like this novel's author is writing down their own experience. Just that most of the time the author focuses on the 2 main charas and leave out everything else, like the dragon who got so little screentime, I kinda miss it. <<less

The ML is insane, and I don't mean that lightly. This definitely isn't for readers who dislike forceful, sociopathic, mentally ill ML. Please dont read this and leave a bad review if you dont like this type.

However, the ML and Jeanne's relationship is utterly riveting. It's fresh, not the usual basic forceful possessive angst writing. No, the way the ML and Jeanne react to one another is beautiful. The ML fits the trope but his demeanor is refreshinf as a debatedly sane madman.

Jeanne doesn't come off as a usual saint... more>> or villainess. His manner of dealing things bold and reckless, and his inner monologues and turmoil are quite realistic. Both him and the ML are perhaps my favorite complimentary duo.

Plot is interesting. Neither the protags nor their enemies simple enough that its easily to discern how they will move and how the others can figure out how to redirect/elimate it. <<less

For me personally, the story is quite interesting even though so far the story itself lacks the perspective of other characters. The story progresses quite slowly, and yes you will get scenes with the mature tag later. LOL.

Spoiler

Like any other harem BLs, I also wondered who is the ML, and here my friend, it's Jerome.

[collapse]

And for translation team, thank you for translating this, BUT please fix the translation. There's a lot of errors. I know it's not major, but for ppl like me whose English is not their first language, I have to work extra to think and it sometimes made me lost interest in reading. For example, when MC has inner monologue, why does he call himself with 'he' etc when he should have used 'I'. And other pronouns are often wrong so that readers like me are sometimes confused whether the person mentioned earlier is actually 'he or she'? And why I mention this, because on the website you are told to turn off AdBlock, one of the reasons for which is to be able to pay the translator?

Also, for chapters that you want to read early/advance, you have to pay. Yea I know when reading we collect points and can read the story by paying points but this is a bit disappointing😢 <<less

Surprisingly I give this a 4.7/5... to anyone who's hesitating to read because of the r*pe tag it will get explained in the novel later on. The ML is kinda problematic at the start but I think it is understandable because he's still learning about things, and his childhood plays a big part on it; you will come to understand ML's actions as you read more. The MC is also so likeable... the author did a great job portraying his characteristics same as the ML. I love how the MC... more>> isn't a pushover, but he also isn't evil. I love that the MC really understands the characters he wrote as the author of the novel he's in... I love how he gives 2nd chances to people, he's not OP but not weak either; honestly, I can go on and on about the MC but I want you guys to read it yourself, it's definitely worth it. Just a warning though, characters in this novel also has bad sides at the start, but I really do love the fact that the author gave a reason on why they're acting that way. Also for me this is a slowburn... ML and MC also had difficulties in figuring out their feelings for each other. Their childhood really made them mentally unstable, gosh they fit eachother so well. The MC and ML didn't go "i like you" so fast. Saying this again but the author really did a great job portraying everything. <<less

It's actually good, I like the MC and the ML's too (Even though they are quite troublesome and hard to deal with). However I feel lacking with the outside view, the POV of others. When the tension is there on the situation like fights or events, its usually narrate on his view and the lack of narration to the others action or reaction doesn't suit well for me since it's make wonder through it. (When I mean others: side characters such as citizens, etc). I didn't finish this, ... more>> (I don't have money yet TT) so I can't fully rate this. Anyway it's good, you can try to read this if you're bored and looking for harem🙄❤️. <<less

The plot is damn amazing.. Its so easy to understand too!

My personal principle is that if the MC is likable, itll make me read no matter how bad the plot is. But this has jawdropping world building, plot, and comedy, as well as a likable MC?????? Is this possible??

The ML.. I admit is a bit problematic at first, but personally I came to understand him more cause author didnt give him a half-assed backround story to explain his behavior.

Its also really well written! Nothing ever really drags on cause the... more>> plot is always moving. The emotional aspects are good too! The characters feel human cause I feel that most of the time theyre realistic. Like morally grey characters (?) Their developments also feel human, its gradual and slow but you can see it. They just feel human, their emotions and rationality.

Anyway, go ahead and read! I highly recommend if youre a fan of heavy plot and world building with a lot of slow burn (but a lot of s*xual tension) romance dynamic! <<less

I absolutely love this novel so so so much. The writing is absolutely fantastic, the characters are pretty well written. There are some weird plot holes, but if you don’t get super analytical, it’s fine.

I love Jerome so much. He’s the love of my life. Jerome for the win. Ily boo.
