Su Ling transmigrated into an ABO novel, and his imaginary male god Gu Liheng was the supporting cannon fodder of this novel.

In the novel, a cannon fodder shou sought refuge with Gu Liheng, using a favor gained previously to make Gu Liheng marry him. But after getting married, the cannon fodder shou went to pester the protagonist gong instead, framing the protagonist shou, causing Gu Liheng’s reputation to be damaged, resulting in his death in the end.

Su Ling decided to take Gu Liheng down before he gets forced into marriage by that cannon fodder shou!

Su Ling’s body fell softly on Gu Liheng.

“President Gu, let me smell your pheromones, I feel uncomfortable QAQ”

Gu Liheng handed him an inhibitor.

Su Ling gave Gu Liheng roses every day for a whole week.

“President Gu, I love you, can you marry me?”

Gu Liheng: “No.”

Su Ling: “…” Eff this.

Gotten tired of chasing people around, Su Ling decided to give himself a few days off.

The first day

Su Ling didn’t show up. Gu Liheng: “…”

The second day.

Gu Liheng: [Looking Out Of The Window]

The third day.

Gu Liheng knocked on Su Ling’s door and said: “Why don’t you come over anymore?”

The MC is strong, confident, and definitely shrouded in a protagonist's halo. The MC and the ML are forced into certain gender roles by society and by their own pheromones, but their true personalities still shine through all the more brilliantly with their contrast and struggle.

This novel definitely has it's flaws, but every single main cast member is treated like a human and a "protagonist" in their own right. Lots of emotional growth all around and healthy, stable relationships. Based on the synopsis I thought this was going to be... more>> a lot more chaotic.

It's also so fluffy and cute I think I could die. Even better, an A+ romance that isn't bogged down by the usual (admittedly steamy) R18+ scenes you usually find in this genre. AND it has a solid ending at around 90 chapters. Excellent. <<less

Rating: 3/5- This was not terrible, but it was not great either.

Throughout the book there’s this definitive sense that things aren’t explored fully or used to its full potential. I liked many concepts that the book had- such as a society that does not discriminate against omegas and they are independent and have careers and authority. The spiritual plants concept has always been something I like and the non-rapey characters were great.

What let’s this story down is how flat the author tells her story. Like what is the actual point... more>> of this story? There also doesn’t really seem to be much natural chemistry between the characters and their relationship feels very boring. Also a huge pet peeve of mine is when authors use mental illness in books but don’t actually understand or explore it correctly.
Spoiler

The PTSD that the ML suffered was written weakly and then miraculously solved in a few sentences. His relationship with his mother was also very poorly constructed knowing that she was his trigger.

[collapse]

A big flag: LOVE DOES NOT INSTANTLY CURE MENTAL ILLNESS

I felt bored as I approached the second half of the book as it meanders and there’s not much excitement. Some parts were also unnecessary. There’s not much to really look forward to once the couple get together. Most times I enjoyed reading about Lin Meng and I definitely enjoyed all the spiritual plants- they were lovely.

With such a wonderful world set for ABO it felt like the author threw the plot to the wind. Not really recommended if you’re into better storytelling and substantial plots but definitely not the worst story out their either. It has its own wins that are definitely great in the ABO genre. <<less

I really like it alot at first, then I ran into a plothole, a big one. >_> So I'm wondering if the author forgot or they just wanted to add more drama, but I belive it's a rather major pothole. [even tho I mtl it, I believe mtl isn't so horrible that it would create a plothole like this.]

So it could've been a nice 5 star, but that plot breaking hole killed off 2 stars directly for me.

Spoiler

Initially, MC's body's mother had somehow ingested some particles which came with the 3 class A spirit plants which caused the original body's pheromones to smell like rotten eggs, this was later revealed to be because the S class plant had lost it's 'seed maybe spore' when it was either playing or messing with the same 3 class A spirit plants which was then found by MC's mother in the middle of the night and she took these plants and registered them.

So the reason why the S class plant was so nice and intimate with MC is that it believes that MC is it's seed since he has the same scent like it.

Later on in the plot somehow changed to these 3 A class spirit plants had become a gift to mc's mother from a suitor she had and she had ran away with the 3 A class spirit plants because her father [who was a mercenary hire to kill] wanted to sell them when she wanted to return it apparently.

So as a result the WHOLE reason why MC's body had the horrible rotten egg smell became a bit obscure, what actually happened, I believe the first reason is more legit, but the 2nd reason doesn't make sense and it feels like the author pulled drama out of her ass to just make the plot more excited but failed miserably imo because that directly negates the reason why the original body had bad smelling hormones and it's intimacy with plants... wonder if people even pay attention to that.

So between the mother finding them by chance and somehow ingested the 'spore/seed' which then was implanted in the body of her fetus [mc] or the 2nd drama of the plants being a suitor's gift and the intersection of the S class spirit plant then becomes null.

[collapse]

The story itself is pretty sweet don't get me wrong, but the whole reason why MC's body had a bad smell and intimacy with plants is vital to that first reason of where the 3 class A spirit plants came from [and is nearly the whole basis of what the main plot of the story is built of], not the 2nd one... idk what the author was thinking when she decided to insert this drama that doesn't fit into the story and interrupts it. <<less

3.5/5 for good attempt

Author treats the main characters too well. Adversity for the main characters rarely last longer than a single confrontation and the rare exception barely classify as cannon fodder. Only a single main character is briefly hostile, the mother in law, again for a single conversation.

I like fluffy novels, but there is no tension or build up to a climax. This left the ending feeling empty despite being a good place in the overall timeline. I just feel like the story has not started yet and it’s already... more>> over. <<less

It has an interesting premise but somehow, the whole novel felt flat.

I think there was no heat and fluffiness much. For an omegaverse, this was very boring unfortunately.

Which is sad because the MC is quite good. The ML is a bit... Selfish? I'm not sure if this is the correct word. I mean I get it that he has psychological problems, but he didn't even thought about MC who also has his own issues.

This is a decent slice-of-life story set in the omegaverse. Both MC and ML are mature but ML takes way too long to decide to confess to MC. What I liked about this novel was the slice-of-life and the lack of dog blood drama. How lacking is the dog blood? Well...

Spoiler

In middle of the novel, it brings up a moment where the s*um shou, Zhao Qi, from the original novel premise is rebirthed and he realises MC is not MC. Unfortunately not much was done with this plot point, but he slowly decides against getting revenge as he did in the original novel story. He somehow settles this offscreen which is a shame, but at least he is much more reformed by his mother’s near death experience. Also, MC can’t be bothered so that’s good.

[collapse]

There is some fluff here and there and MC takes it with stride whenever ML rejects him, which is good. Eventually ML’s problems are resolved. As others said, the spirit plants make this novel more fun. Heck, even the spirit plants were more exciting than the main characters.

Spoiler

MC, with the help of the 3 A grade plants, finds a S rank plant and the plant decided he is MC’s dad. It takes him like into the last third of the novel for him to realise that the plant calls him son! HAHAHAHAH and another S rank plant is MC’s ‘uncle’, he is badass to the point that he was wanted by ML’s bodyguards to be part of their unit.

[collapse]

The backstory is also interesting. Both MC’s and ML’s backstory are tied together by their parents. Heck, it is the only trouble in the entire plot.

Spoiler

MC’s body is the grandson of a notorious criminal who killed ML’s dad. His mother ran away from her awful father with the 3 plants. She then ended up with MC’s dad because of MC’s grandparents. She deserved better... but anyway, ML still accepts MC because MC is the only one for him. ML’s mom reluctantly accepts MC but was still angry. She then gets over it as she was told she was the cause of ML’s trauma and she attended their wedding! She was bitter about her husband’s death, but it turns out that some ML’s relative wanted the company and was the reason why the criminal killed ML’s dad in the first place.

Remember badass tiger vine uncle Plant? He is the one who captures MC’s grandfather in the end. And yes, MC and ML has an Alpha son and lived happily ever after.

[collapse]

My absolute favourite has to be this however.

Spoiler

At the end of the novel, you get to see the original MC’s soul return. Turns out he has been living in MC’s body in our universe as an author and even got a boyfriend who was MC’s good friend!!!! So many times I see transmigration novels NEVER address or give the original soul some solace... Original MC of course switches back as he knows MC has made his place there. MC was desperate since he knew ML had trauma from being left behind and worried for him. His friend was understanding in that he had to return and it was so great to just see this point addressed. A good closure and knowing they are well is awesome.

[collapse]

Overall, decent read but slow. 4.5/5 which I will up to 5 just for my favourite part. <<less

This one is cute but the author made a flaw on MC. MC is calm and witty but he still removed the inhibitor pad on his nape during the exam day. The MC knew very well that that the Ling zhi (plants) were repulsive to his rotten egg smell, and he even experienced it twice prior exam... more>>
Spoiler

(inside the ML's villa and in his store when he removed the pad from his nape) yet he still remove the isolation pad.

Anyway, It's so entertaining ? I love the s class lingzhi!!! Without them the story is boring. I like that there is an equal status between A and O here. And how the MC (O) woes the ML (A). However, if prolongs, it becomes annoying.
Spoiler

If ML really loves the MC he should have talked about his circumstances instead of hurting the MC since the ML doesn't give a definite time to answer the love confession of MC. Just because of pride as an alpha, that he doesn't want the MC to know his mental illness. Yet, the omega, who is usually pursued by alpha suitors, humbles himself to pursue the ML.

Eventually ML confessed to MC, after the ML asked the reason why the MC didn't deliver the flowers any more and explained his circumstances. I honestly get pissed. The author just wanted to prolong the chapter

I found this novel quite interesting in the beginning.

The main character was loveable, and I really liked the interstellar setting, the spiritual plants and how they communicated. The relationship between the main couple was extremely cute, and I specially enjoyed following as the main character chased the male lead. It was so refreshing!

However, the way the author approached the male lead’s mental illness was... not the best, in my opinion. If it weren’t for how helpless and uncomfortable this made me feel, I would have certainly given this novel a... more>> higher rating.

Spoiler

The male lead has been struggling with the after effects of childhood ab*se, strict and controlling parenting, and the way his father’s death negatively influenced his mother. I appreciated the representation, because as someone who also has depression and PTSD due to childhood ab*se and controlling family members, I related quite a lot to him. However, you’re telling me that the male lead suddenly got ‘cured’ of his trauma because of his love for the main character? That because he was incapable of helping the main character during an incident due to the fact that he was in a state of shock, he was instantly free from all his trauma? How can a trauma response and years of ab*se be completely erased in this way? I really think that this could’ve been handled in a more sensible and informed way.

[collapse]

Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this story and if this doesn’t bother you, I would still recommend it. <<less

saw a lot of low rating but I personally LOVE this novel. I finished reading it in 3 days (during my final exam... still not over yet as I write this). if you are looking for a fluffy, fun, "short" lighthearted novel I recommend this. honestly I love the fact that shou is the one chasing his gong, its not so rare but fun to read. he has always loved his male god and actually got the chance to "catch" his... he sure didn't let go of this chance.

novel doesn't... more>> portray MC as all rounder but he sure is lucky and good in his field. but all that luck is also somehow reasonable (?) :

Spoiler

1. ML loving MC. ML was never a judgmental person to begin with. he was just indifferent to everyone but MC being the only one willing to talk normally without fearing him made him like him event thought MC stinked. he was a big softie who wants love.

2. MC can dance due to his mom being a dancer so he picked it up

3. MC was already a top student and a was working as perfumist so no surprise if he continues his profession he is familiar of and is good at it. plus he was actively asking people for help and not being Mr. know-it-all/can-do-it-all.

4. MC obtaining 3 flowers, original owner of the body's mother left it for him...

5. MC obtaining 3 more S level flower, 1st one coz it is related to his abnormal pheromone (tho it was never really mentioned how) and other are his friend that tagged alone... (if I were to be alive for 1000+years and have 2 good friends hell ya they are coming with me)

[collapse]

there were some place I did wish author had shown more dept to some story lines like;

MC's life before rebirth (sadly many novel doesn't seem to mention it very much)

Spoiler

how MC's body got Xian Mo Yu's seed

story of MC's mom, her supposed lover and grandpa

MC's pregnancy months

little more scene of other Su Ling's life

[collapse]

but then again it also ok the way it is. who am I kidding I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MC'S LIFE BEFORE REBIRTH AND WHAT HAPPENS AFTER!!!

i also like to fast phase of the novel like story don't stretch to plot... if they talk about doing something, next chapter or even next paragraph sometimes it's already in process. well it has a lot to do with the setting of world itself and for someone as inpatient as me I liked it.

as for the respond to other review

Spoiler

about their child being "spoil", I don't think he was spoiled... he is just a energetic naughty kid with a too much confident that he thinks he is invincible (as they usually are). the whole reason ML had the mental illness was due to his mom's strict parenting, of course with that ML and his mom will now wanna to pamper this child. plus it was also mentioned ML was also a naughty child back then so no surprise is MIL allow her grandson to run wild

There were some characters that got thrown away without any explaination like the Su Family and Gu An, which I wished the author would touch more on.

The story was plain and smooth. There was dog blood but it wasn't intense, it got solved pretty quick.

It has a greater focus on plants than the characters. The romance was quite slow, which was fine because there were no drama between the main couple.

Overall a very chill read and the main couples were very sweet + the spriritual plants were very interesting and... more>> funny. <<less

5/5 for me.

Short but well written. The characters’ personalities and life experience were very well explained and the story made them really evolve as people. Even the “cannon fodder” character grew up and I was really happy for him.

I enjoyed the OG book SL and Hao’s quick story and I wish we got a chance to see the full version of their story since it was so cute. Happy for both CPs.

I met this novel in early 2023, then accidentally met it now, so I checked the review, again I couldn't find my review... Finally decided to check the reading list on wp, and it was really there.

Reread a few chapters and then auto-remember...

The point is that my comments there and here are not much different... The story is like a rollercoaster, not the drama version, but more of a fantasy genre, with many magical powers in Abo's world. The book's unique transmigration setting, and the characters of our possessive Mr.... more>> Gu and the versatile Su Ling...

Their children, their plants even provide color...

Not amazing, but satisfying once you finish this story. <<less

it's... quite good?

I enjoyed this alot lmaoooo.

usually in ABO (manhwa/manga...) there's usually alot of discrimination and what not but I quite liked how this novel portrayed it. (maybe it's not new but I just started reading ABO chinese novels 😅)

anyway, I usually stay away from interstellar/supernatural novels bcs my imagination sucks but this just opened a new door for me and I love it. I'm finally gonna leave the angst/entertainment genre HAHAHAHA.

the parts I liked about this is gonna be a spoiler LMAOOOO.

Spoiler

1. the plant uncles LMAOOO. every interaction they have got me smiling. it's really cute.

2. the ML is such a caring lover and the MC is one as well. I would've loved to see more moments with their child if I could haha.

3. there was a part where it was mentioned that ML's father's body was never found and I thought it was a hint that he's alive but in hindsight it was prob nth since it was the people who wanted him dead that said it.

4. the ML has his own trauma and is fighting it for the MC, but I kinda cringed when his trauma was solved cos the MC got hurt while he was in a 'trance' and that got him to overcome it. I mean I see it but ye.

5. the novel's cannon fodder having a so called character growth was kinda a nice touch even tho it was only a paragraph or so.

No shocking or complicated plot, just a nice and easy read. I love all the characters dearly. This is my first time reading MC that straightforwardly follow his heart and just... chased ML with all his might. The author seems to like using descriptive writing, so some might thought the story is a bit rush, but personally I am alright with it. 4.6/5 stars. Read this for the cutest, and love over-flowing.

ML gets realy patronizing in the end, which kind of breaks their realtionship for me. A relationship is build on mutial respect, to trust and value each other as responsible partners... and that I didn't feel in the end.

Just ML patronizing MC and interrupting in his desicions and laying down onesoded rules like for a kid. And the MC is like, well he is Alpha, and bad things happened before, so i'll just go along with eveything, never mind having lived as a selfesuffciant adult for years... Ok?

A bit plain and uneventful. Some parts feel a bit anticlimactic since those events don't lead to anything nor forshadows anything.

The conflicts get solved in 1 or 2 chapters and it's not because of the MC's ability but rather the luck he has.

Spoiler

He met and got familiar with 3 S class spirit plants which are literally legendary plants with gigh IQ that nobody ever saw but because his mother once got contact with it when pregnant, the plant left something that recognizes him as his "seed". So he literally has this ability with plants right of the bat. And the difficult situations get solved because of the plants

[collapse]

It's like the author wanted an easy life for MC with no issues at all.

MC does have an abnormal hormone at the beginning of the story which makes his hormone smell really bad but it does not affect him (and in the end it's used for mild face slapping when there are rumors and he gets cured pretty fast).

Good points is that MC and ML do get along pretty sweetly and MC is quite direct at showing his interest and attraction to ML.

But I still think that as characters they felt a bit flat and the supporting characters too. They were there just there to praise MC abilities and only showed up for that. If you want me to describe some of the side characters is that some of them feel the same in a sense that they interact with the main couple but none of them feel close to me as a reader.

Overall, if you read the novel with 0 expectations like I did then it is an ok read for when you have nothing else.

Translation was a 4/5. Some tenses felt weird (like they are talking in present but feels like it should be in past tense) but still quite fluid. <<less

I thought it was rather alright. It's a typical transmigration story nothing too exciting.

i like that the MC was badass and chased the ML for a bit and the plants part of the story was rather interesting. The interactions with the plants was fun but papa xian annoyed me with his s*upidity and hovering nature.

HOWEVER, I wish there was more focus on the university and MC learning more about plants. Also, the fragrance bar seemed of little significance in the story since MC was never really there. The drinks in... more>> the bar didn't make any sense to me as the 'bar' specialized in perfumery but also had scented drinks??

I feel like we delved into the flower part of the story and not the romance because all the problems were solved quickly so the story lacked major suspense some bits also felt unfinished like with that strange prince and MC past life.

OVERALL, I think the story is cute and fluffy but is only truly enjoyable if you ignore the loopholes and the nonsensical bits. <<less
