At first I was hesitating wether to read this one or not because "a man changed into a woman and then end up with a man" concept. But after I give it a go and try to read, actually it's pretty good. I got a good laugh almost every chapter and along with the progress of the story, it just felt natural. The leads complement each other very well. A lot of fluff. Hilarious FL who was a male reborn into a female body. He's written like a typical 30yr old male who makes stereotypical bad jokes, especially about R18 Japanese AVs, like a typical 'dirty neet guy', but in some ways that is his selling point. He lacks the elegance of a female, has a mentality of an unrefined male, and yet in a pretty female body, and this discord is the funniest part of the story, because the ML doesn't know that 'she' was in fact very much a male mentally... more>> HAHA. 'She' finds ways to embarrass him to amuse 'herself' constantly as petty revenge (since he was her rival in her previous life) and we watched as the ML went from being cold and unyielding towards these embarrassing acts, to indulgence and care just to make 'her' happy. Although FL generally acts pretty dumb ('she' wasn't really), my favourite part was actually 'her' very realistic and sensible view on how to deal with ambiguous relationship and her respect towards ML and his feelings at the end.

Of course, the way FL's mind runs wild when encountering different events is the main highlight and comedy for this novel. I swear half the time I couldn't stop laughing from her antics and big-brain energy.

Overall, a very fun and comedic novel with a touch of sweetness.

(Note that throughout the novel, the FL has been referred to as a 'he' because he was originally a male who is now in a female body) <<less

The Cover seems sad, the story is Pure Comedy!

It was Absolutely Wild Ride! It was Really Great! I Love it Waaaaay Toooo Much!!! Soooooo Freaking Much!!!

The MC is GREAT! Funny, Epic, Exciting, Somewhat Dense, just Absolutely Great!

... more>> The ML is Sweet! Caring and Patient. Definitely take all the MC's Wild Side! Never mean, Never rude, Fun and Great! I Love him!

All Side (Supportive) Characters is Great!!!

There's no heavy Drama because MC's personality won't let that happen, intentionally or not.

It might be adult novel, but it's only has Non-explicit Intimacy moments! Most Intimacy between the Couple is Sweet, Funny, Fluff!

Dont forget the ending... It was Sooo Satisfying....!!! It wasn't exactly perfect, but it was still really Satisfying and I'm Content~! ❤️😌❤️ <<less

Maybe I enjoyed reading this even after some het tropes mixed in that irked me and a main issue that I wanted to be discussed but wasn't. The Better Gender Bender novel, me thinks.

I don't trust people who rate novels but they dropped it, leave a negative comment if you must but at least finish it before you rate, like be a decent person.

*Characters: MC is so a guy's guy. I don't trust people who rate when they've dropped the novel and I understand how MC is kind of annoying but he's like the typical Otaku guy with a narrow mindset. ML is childish, dumb and sometimes irrational.

*Plot: This is a slow burn and after I've read the author's notes, I've have to also agree that this story deserves it. Character growth might be minimal but self reflection about one's sexuality and affection for others is kind of on point.

Yeah, I'm a little generous for this novel and rated it high but well

I liked that he didn't return in his body anymore and he was thoughtful to all the people involved, especially with the girls parents. He treasured the body and got pass through the weirdness of it.

I usually don't read this genre since they are mostly of same type.. But wow.. This story is so adorable..

Rating - 4.4 /5

  • The protagonist is cool and hilarious.. And his imagination level ??? There's nothing to say about it.. It was hard holding in the laughter.. He is the lifeline of this story..
  • Even though the protagonist became a girl after his soul transfer, he actually didn't became feminine much.. Except when that girl's physique is mentioned, the protagonist is quite manly in his actions, which makes it feel somewhat like a Shounen Ai.. For me this was quite interesting thinking that way..
  • ML is rich, handsome and cold, but not tyrannical.. Instead he is caring and understanding.. Even though they were in a contractual marriage, he never slighted the protagonist.. This type of attitude makes his pretty likable and a bit cute..
  • The protagonist took a long time accepting another man's confession since he himself was as straight as an arrow in his previous life.. And that's totally natural.. If he accepted the reality easily, well, I don't know about others, but I'd have lost interest..
  • Not much drama or face-slapping..
  • His younger brother is a cool character.. A side chapter on him would've been nice..

I don't usually read novel of this genre. I read it when one of my friend recommended it and after going through the reviews.

It was worth it. Loved the story progression and the plot. Even after reading it I still am skeptical about this genre.

It was first ever read of this genre and it was worth it.

The single best Gender Bender novel I have read.

The MC keep calling himself as "he" the entire novel showing how he is still consider himself a guy inside yet still fall for the ML.

The character feel so real and the plot is great.

5/5. But I give this a 4/5 for my own s*xual preference. Sorry.

This is more of a comedy than a romance, especially on the scenes where MC forgots he's in a woman's body and acts man-like, which contradicts his current gentle and feminine appearance. Overall rating: 3.9.

So the story starts at an accident between the MC and the ML's original wife. The MC's body dies and so does the wife's soul. Thus, as the title suggests, MC possesses the ML's wife's body upon waking up. The story narrates how the MC adjusts to his new body while improving his relationship with ML... more>> and their acquaintances (I don't think this warrants a spoiler tag so I didn't enclosed it in one).

It's a good read, one that's enough for passing time. I don't think a rating as high as 4.8 fits this though - maybe because it's comical and is a new concept (?) thus the high rating, but I've read stories with more holistic plots and more satisfying characters, so I'm not much impressed. Translation quality is good to - thanks ms./mr. Translator.

My only dislike (bordering hate already) is concretized at the end:

After all the trouble and experiences, MC STILL HASN'T TOLD ML WHO HE REALLY IS. That pissed me off so much - I mean c'mon, you're married, you even had kids, and yet you don't tell your partner to whom he swore to spend a lifetime with?! I know that it's unscientific, but you told your birth family, and even ask your partner 'if' questions regarding this (to which he resolved to love you whoever you are) BUT YOU STILL DON'T SAY IT! UGHH YOU ARE SO IRRITATING AS AN MC! You don't deserve the ML!

Actually i've found this novel since long ago... well, you know, it has a high rating so it popped out rather frequent here and there. At first I ignore it because I dont have any appetite for straight or genderbend genre LOL.

But recently I read a straight romance novel, that is lack in romance lovey dovey part and heavier in plot side. So, I got a sudden crave for straight genre with little romance or lovey dovey part. And I encounter this again for the n-th time.

This novel is not... more>> heavy in drama or plot, if I may say it was only flowed freely, like it was only following what the author might like for the next chapter, like that. Doesnt really rely on the plot.

It is a romance, a budding romance, a journey of love, and a sweet pining from ML (guy) to MC (girl). It was a surprise that I could bear a romance between a guy and a girl LOL since my palate had been long ruined by yaoi taste.

But,

This is what makes this novel different. It is a genderbend, yes! This is a romance, yes! But somehow I could enjoy it very much! I love the comedy! And it is really interesting to see how a clueless virg*n old guy who loves pretty girls would do when he turned up into a girl.

It is interesting how the MC doesnt have the suspicious and jealous heart of normal girl towards those love rival LOL. Rather than of feeling envy and jealous when those pretty girls confront the MC, he worship them instead.

And many other perspectives from manly virg*n guy that is really funny and interesting, makes me laugh so hard at every chapter.

I love this novel for the comedy it offers! <<less

Not a long review this time:

What I enjoyed about this was its down-to-earth style (although it almost seemed too dry at the start, before it really picked up). While there's a dramatic premise (the soul migration, suddenly-a-woman premise), the plot drama is narrated in a more moderate, realistic way - and the story isn't all about stuffing as much drama in as possible, anyway. The same for the slow progression of the MC's acceptance of his life as a female and romantic feelings for a man. While I didn't usually... more>> laugh out loud, the humourous undertone added to the impression that this was a more intelligently-written story compared to many gender-bender-just-for-gimmick stories.

It's fairly easy to read and fairly satisfying to read, well-written and well-translated. <<less

omg! guys u have to read this... Its so damn entertaining.... its a romcom with lil romance and heaps and loads of comedy.. there are a lot of RoFL moments which just creep up at the end of evry 4-5 chapters.. unlike the title its not a rebirth story, its more of soul transfer, timeline is not changed, our main lead is single guy who has a bad romantic history, all the girls he date din college left him for the same person i.e his love rival... the story starts... more>> when the main lead gets into an accident and dies but his soul enters the body of the girl who incidentally happens to be the wife of his love rival...

So far there is only light drama, light angst and I hope it stays that way, also the update frequency is slow, so I come back every 2 months to catch up. <<less

Love it. Great story, its light, fun, characters are interesting and feel human, it uses a few cliches, but they don't feel heavy handed and only add a touch of familiarity. The translation is very good, easily readable.

The funniest story I've read in a long time. If you're looking for a light, comedic fluff-novel, then this is the story for you! I was literally laughing out loud reading this. It's absolutely hilarious. I can't wait for the next couple chapters to come out!

Su Jian, a common chinese man, suddenly died and have his soul transferred into a body of young woman whom already married with Mr. Popular back in his university days.

The series is as hilarious as the summary. Every chapter will make you laugh, there's no bitter misunderstanding nor useless drama. The character is extremely likeable (beside the villain of course). There's a need to understand some slang/chinese literature (which thankfully provided by the translator!) to further enjoying the story. Definitely recommended!

Finally a gender bender romance that's portrayed realistically (at least so far). And it's incredibly funny and well translated. The chinese romcom trope of everyone looking like a gods and goddesses is a bit annoying but it does not detract too much from the overall experience. 4.5/5

the GOAT. the best gender bender I've ever read. I liked MCs personality. he (she) is really super funny and most of the jokes doesn’t feel forced. I liked how author did the humor. the romance also wasn’t forced, I liked that MC and ML had some romantic experiences before even if it was traumatizing. I liked that ML wasn’t typical cold ceo.

one thing that left me unsatisfied was that MC didn’t confess to ML that he was a guy. though I liked that he confessed to his family.

whole novel... more>> MC addressed as “he” so sometimes it feels really gay... because of this I think even if you like yaoi this novel may be a good pick for reading.

overall really good novel would recommend to anyone. <<less

It's... okay. That is pretty much all I can say about it. It's done competently enough but that's it, emotional scenes are usually pretty lackluster and most of the drama kind of goes nowhere. I mean, it's resolved but in really lame ways.

The way I see it the novel is quite overrated for two reasons.

1. The unique premise

2. The fact that it's both finished and not overly long.
