Satisfying and smooth sailing, well the romance is like a sponge, it just absorb the sweet bit by bit without u realize it and somehow leak it a bit, so it not blazing, burning all MC and ml, the time skip is ok, personal rating 4.3, Good experience, and relaxing

A rating of 4.4⭐ is appropriate for this novel. When I first read the synopsis, it felt rather familiar, and I had indeed read it almost to the end last year. Today, I revisited the chapters to refresh my memory and read the extras. Despite the relatively mild misunderstandings between the MC and ML, the writing still managed to make me shed some tears (or perhaps I'm just a crybaby).

The storyline itself is quite engaging, and the characters are well-developed. In truth, I struggled to finish this but I did! It's not so bad and something to read when you are bored. It focuses more on family and court politics than romance and I think I'm okay with that.

Every character has depth and very realistic. There's melancholic undertone in the story on some parts but I think that's just how life is sometimes. For that reason, I'm going to abstain from voting stars since I like this because of how realistic the characters are but I also didn't love it.

If you want a politically charged slice of life that focuses on family, give this one a read.

This is a good novel that is not extreme in it's portrayal of the characters. There is no evil overlord enemy or poisonous in laws or such, there are only a few ruthless antagonists, and the others are just greedy, petty, misguided small time annoyances.

Most of the time it reads like slice of life, with the MC having a mission of preventing mishaps of her previous life.

In some parts it feels like reading Wikipedia entry of historical royals in ancient China.

Previous emperor put his grandson on the throne bypassing his vassal sons. The grandson who was unfamiliar with uncles who are stationed far away viewed them as threats and thus forced MC's father in law to rebel. Sounds like the story of Zhu Di. In the end the new emperor killed himself, and was not heartless enough to kill the hostaged nephews.

The first time I dropped it because beginning part is a bit boring, but I picked it up the second time due to the good reviews here, and once I passed through it and got into the novel's rhythm, it is surprisingly engaging and enjoyable. <<less

A very slice of life story with a very little character development. It's actually tackle the lack of communication between FL and ML that makes a lot of difference between their life right now and their previous life.

As a reborn, FL remains cautious and start to schemes to save her Grandfather and all other thing around her that makes life easier for her.

This is a novel for the reader that wants a tranquil plot.

Very slice of life, almost no drama. Most of the characters are pretty reasonable, I do like the ML's introverted taciturn character slowly learning to love the MC in a way that she can understand and MC slowly learning that ML's way of showing love is very lowkey. I love their kids! There is not a lot of romancing outside of the extras, it's a quiet love story.

Very charming read, the only comment I have is that the story sort of meanders and there's no real "plot". Things just happen... more>> and the MC just goes on with her life. <<less

It was a really beautiful novel. The characterization of the main male role was new to me. And the main role of the man kept the cold and introverted character until the last part and like some novels, his character did not change at all. The relationships between other characters such as the emperor, princes and sisters-in-law were also beautiful, and in short, I think it was different from a series of stereotypes. It is worth reading once.

Thank you to the translator who finished translating the entire story. Other reviews already write what I wanted to say, so please give this story a try.

One thing I like the most is the ending. The writer made 3 types of "alternate" ending. One is the main story where FL went back 10 years before, 2nd is if there is no time travel happening, 3rd is the story if both FL and ML went back 10 years.

I recommend!

I have read the complete story and I can say it was a good read. It’s truly a slice of life drama with tears, anger, oh la la moments and moments of love laughter jealousy between family. You can really learn a lesson from this story because you can see how a person’s attitude and treatment can change your life. In life you will have struggles and challenges but it truly depends on your attitude and kindness really does impact others. This is a very intricate story, spanning decades. The characters are extremely well fleshed out, and each one plays a role, protagonists and antagonists alike. The descriptions of the slice of life are very good, but need time and patience to read through and savour. Take your time to slowly read, and enjoy the descriptions, and how events all come together to tie up coherently. Really enjoyable story. Reasonably well translated with a slice of life feel but not plodding or boring. Characters are well fleshed out and you get to see a little from everyone’s point of view. The underlying theme of family and different ways of care/ love are also very endearing.

side stories also were satisfying as showing that even if the main characters were reborn they would still end up with Happy ending.

The story of princess Ying and Cui Yi also came to a satisfactory happy end.

worth a reread.

I like reading this novel. ML is so devoted to his wife. Although, he was a cold face, stiff, and quite one. He tried to be good husband and father. The most important, ML doesn't has many wives unlike the other Chinese historical novel. I think the ending of this novel is the happiness and satisfying, ML and MC became Emperor and Empress, they had 3 child (2 sons and a daughter). A very interesting slice-of-life story that follows the journey of the FL who was reborn to 10 years earlier after an argument with her cold husband, the ML. The story is not difficult to read with not much political intrigue nor annoying harem problems. It is the reader going on a journey with the FL who just changes her outlook on life - living for her own sake and happiness - and becoming bolder. The novel focuses a lot on the relationship between FL and ML alongside other side characters.

I... more>> like the story as it isn’t boring. FL is not omnipotent and her being reborn only gives her a better insight on certain things to come. She tries to change crucial problems like her grandfather’s death. And she succeeds in this lifetime without much manipulation. She just knows better and handles thing far wiser than she did in her first life. Since FL is more determined to live a better life this time, she isn’t timid when expressing her views to her husband, and with the better communication her relationship with the ML naturally improves and so she has more children this time lol.

I like that every character have their own personalities and also we get to see their thoughts from time to time. Like Wei Yang, the eldest son of King Yan when he worries about his father scrutinizing his work. It makes for a more interesting read as its like the reader is truly seeing the flow of time with each character changing and moving along the storyline.

I also liked the extras!

The second extra where ML has to chase FL since both are reborn to before they got married and FL refusing to marry him this time is so fun! I love how ML has to chase his wife hehe.

Third extra about the tragic couple Wei Ying and Cui Yu was also great. I am so happy they got their HE.

A really great story that I binged in two days.

Only thing is translation tends to have wrong names which can confuse the reader. Other than that it is brilliantly translated. MTL is okay but also has the same problem of wrong names which makes it confusing. Like Wei Luo can become Wei Rong or Wei Ruo or even Wei Wei. <<less

I really love this story. I adore all of the character here. The plot is more like a slice of life but not as boring as the typical. FL and ML are likeable, not to mention the kids. The romance is sweet and steamy too!! Totally recommended!

I'm so glad the eldest brother Wei Yang died before he could become the emperor. He was not a wise pick at all. The way he was already thinking about how the ML would have to listen to him and be under his command was the ultimate sign that he was gonna be a bad emperor who tries to get rid of him because he's scared of the power he holds. He got exactly what he deserved.
