Scalding Hot Noodles: Danger ahead. Don’t go home tonight.

“What kind of lunatic…?”

Rolling her eyes, Fang Xiaocao dismisses the cryptic warning and unlocks her apartment door.

Scalding Hot Noodles: At midnight, there will be knocking. If you don’t want to die, don’t turn on the light.

A sudden knock wakes her up.

So far, it's pretty good! I like the FL and her interactions with her future self. The plots involving dangers that she avoids are short but entertaining.

It's a nice novel to read to pass the time, because there's nothing too complex being written. But there's just one thing that I really dislike for some reason:

Spoiler

FL's three 'sisters/best friends'. They're all written to be s*upid (to put it mildly) and they're known in their university as a silly trio of girls. Two of them are okay, but the one I really dislike is the silliest one nicknamed 'Husky'. She's really inconsiderate towards the FL, bringing her spicy hot pot and beer for her to eat while she was hospitalised from a car accident and almost died from it. It's not appropriate as it's mentioned specifically in the text that she's meant to be eating light food like porridge! I know that it's portrayed as part of her personality, like a funny quirk. I know it's meant to be comedic, but it rubs me the wrong way how a best friend would be able to treat her hospitalised friend like that. At the very least you would look up what to bring a patient in hospital if you didn't know what to bring! Another instance was where the FL and the three silly friends ended up in hospital after an almost s*xual assault and actual assault and battery, the Husky girl ordered BBQ and two expensive alcohols off of FL's account, like, what?? FL doesn't mind and even jokes around with Husky and the others, but I find it so concerning that you would actively go and swipe your bestie's card on expensive alcohol whilst you're both hospitalised purely because 'you've never tried it'!! Sorry, this character's also done other stuff, but these instances made me annoyed the most. Especially since the FL has a cool hero like childhood friend that comes and rescued her with an entourage of buff bodyguards, there's such a disparity between the quality of friends she has!! Maybe it's because I dislike reading about useless characters that only know how to drag the MC down, but I really dislike this character. Apart from her and the other two, this novel isn't too bad.
