Its a very easy to read story. It won't make you think to hard or pay attention to every detail when reading. It's not trying to do that. It's a good detox novel, simple and fun. Translation is good and pretty fast, probably in 2-3 months from this review it will have enough chaps for most people to enjoy a big binge.

Overall our MC just want to be a tree so yeah he did nothing because he is a tree and I respect that, I was also slightly uncomfortable but ut was not a issues to me that the novel lack female characters even the marriage stuff kind a leave a big plot hole to the story there's also no love interest between other characters which would have been good since our MC is already a wood hahahahah you get it he is the wood hahahaha no? Ok ok ok ahhahahaha I mean just how good the story would unfold if he a tree got a love interest would it be another tree or a human or anything hahahahha anyway good read and I cant wait for more.

I will only say this once, but dont dare to read it on the Chinese and let the auto translation do t job its kind a doable but youd dont get the meaning in some items and the realm is also confusing in mtl so just stick with the translator and be grateful he gave em english names.

it's a refreshing story, different from the typical Chinese novels. I enjoyed it, but there is a lack of female characters, and the focus is always on the tribe facing danger. You don't get much small-scale development or peaceful time for a long period. You also don't get to see the tribe develop, members getting married and having kids, or how the tribe getting stronger affects them enough.

I initially planned to give this story 4 stars, but after seeing the low rating, I decided to give it 5. I believe it's underrated and deserves a higher ranking. The protagonist is a totem, specifically a tree, and serves as the main power of their clan. Like other clans in the story, each has its own distinct totem with unique powers.

The story is easy to read and follow. While there are some downsides, it keeps you wanting more, making you anticipate the next chapters. One aspect to note is... more>> the lack of female characters, as the story mainly focuses on the clan and the power of totems.

One unique element is the protagonist’s power as a tree. To gain new abilities, the tree undergoes different stimulations, almost like mini-stories within the larger narrative. Sometimes these attempts are successful, and other times they fail, adding an interesting layer to the story.

The plot doesn’t just revolve around the protagonist, but also around the clan's rise to power. After defeating one clan, they discover even stronger clans, and the story expands from there.

Overall, I would say this novel is definitely worth reading. <<less

A masterpiece✨

An easy read that ticks all the right boxes when it comes to cultivation/martial arts and martial art families.

First of all, why didn't I find this any sooner. I enjoyed every chapter I've read and was even patient enough to wait months for more (lol).

... more>> So the right boxes -

1. This isn't another repetitive story about the world tree and holy elf's. It's really not.

2. MC remains a locust tree or non humanoid throughout and will never become human.

3. World building is excellent. Characters /clans are introduced together with a new power 'level' and hidden enemies or allies. This makes the pacing not slow and not fast either. (Authors really don't need to list out the entire power scale at the beginning, that's a con for me because it takes out the tension and anticipation to when a strong character is introduced, I now know that the MC won't win either way, so why is he even trying) here we don't know other levels until our Mc's his clan reach it or meet characters on that level. The world is really broad and from some hints it's gonna be bigger than what we already know like, noble families within continents. We were introduced to the top families within but there's still other families and organizations even more powerful than them.

4. This is a survival of the fittest world, where if you are weak, you will absolutely die. So far, there's been many potential enemies and all of them are powerful. MC starts off as someone who's barely surviving but the author literally brings a clan war/ battle just after a few days of waking up😭😂

5. MC and his clan are very cautious, they don't show everything and are really good at fighting battles they will win. So there's no reason to be sloppy and the author doesn't deviate from this trait throughout the novel. 5. Battles are literally amazing. Perfect execution from the author, like I said they don't pick battles they won't win. They prepare, plan and know who to send and who to not send.

6. MC is not an overly ambitious person, nor is he righteous or evil. He's calm and thinks of his decisions a lot. He also has a chance to upgrade his powers which he takes and doesn't waste. He's very much aware, even at 50o chapters that although he's grown, he still needs to improve. 7. Clan wars are very much frequent. When it comes to other novels, clan wars happen once or twice for more than 100 chapters, not here though. This is after all an ancient tribal era, where people had to fight for resources and growth.

8. Everybody can fight, women and teenagers in MCs clan learn how to defend and fight properly. There's only been 2 female characters that have been properly introduced, idk about later though, one is a part of MCs clan, she's a loving mother with a strong and caring personality. The other is from another clan and she's very intelligent, can deal with clan politics easily if given a chance by her clan but she disappears together with her clan after a fight against another clan and there's no ambiguity or implied romance. They are well written with positive traits and are not unlikable. It's just that they are just way too few. Maybe they'll be more introduced later?

I enjoyed this novel a lot, just because the authors effort in storytelling is very obvious. The Pacing is great. The main theme is to survive under difficult conditions. The protagonist is somewhat In a transactional relationship with the clan, he gives them something and they repay him back. That's not to say he hasn't grown fond of them though. He isn't irrational and there's no romance at all and no in between clans marriages[romance is nonexistent]. Mc's clan, the Chen family, are very cautious and intelligent and just needed a push, and that happened to be the MC. They are very much aware of their exponential growth and don't let it delude them. MCs interactions with them is always straightforward. Another bonus is the totems, I've only seen it done in chronicles of primordial wars novel. And this ones completely different to it and we get to see the totems fight against each other.

5/5 perfect. I recommend for anyone looking to sit back and read a novel where MC isn't being trapped by some ambitious powerful character or sects/clans while they're weak and are looking for an easy ancient themed novel <<less

I really enjoyed this novel up into a certain point. The writing was good and the characters and their development was decent.

But a few things threw me off and as I read more I was personally let down. I started this book for the MC, the divine tree, and at the start thats what I got with a nice little side bonus of the family.

But as you read on the book starts focusing more on the family’s situation and the constant (and I mean constant) problems they find themselves in.... more>> Even then the novel was pretty well written but I didn’t start this novel for the family.

It was a nice read and I did enjoy it, now i’m waiting for more chapters since I caught up at the time of posting this. <<less
