It's a slice of life novel, highlighting MC's daily activities with her brother and friends. It's actually decent and a light read in my opinion

As far as I have read, no yandere element found

Spoiler

only that MC's brother turn into a severe siscon. Understandable though, if you have a cute little sister that is kind, smart and attached to you, you ain't gonna give her to some random rascals. NO ROMANTIC element between MC and her brother, it's purely familial affection.

By the time I write this review, the rating is 3, 5. It's undeserved in my opinion. That's why people should give rating after reading a certain amount of chapters <<less

So I read all that is available so as to make a somewhat reasonable review.

There is something terribly awkward about this novel. A person who is his own little sister is...a fresh idea, I guess? But it feels like there is this strange tension. I try not to rate the translation, but I can say that except for some minor mistakes, I can follow the story well enough. However, conversations can be rather confusing as there aren't any identifying characteristics to the dialogue and it just becomes a series of... more>> quotations here and there with no idea who is doing what.

'Ooh, brother, don't hurt him too bad.'

Like, what is going on? The narration isn't even helpful and is mostly just a bunch of info. The plot, what little there is, is forced and wonky, and the main characters are actually boring.

It's not a bad novel, and I do believe the first chapter stated that this was their first, so good luck. I would say, 'the Devil is in the Details.' It would also help the story flow and give the reader some time to digest what is going on in the story.

'Ah, brother is so overprotective. But he doesn't need to keep pulling that guy's arm so far back. What if it breaks?!'

As I watch my brother wrestle with his closest friend, I can't help but worry that my brother has gone down a different path... is it my fault?

Maybe separating thoughts behind apostrophes and leaving descriptive/narrative words like I did above would help.

But I kept reading, so there is something about this novel. I just can't for the life of me think what. <<less

The novel, "Reincarnated as My Little Sister, " starts off with a dark turn; the protagonist wakes up with a knife through his stomach. However, that's only the first chapter. The MC doesn't follow the actions of other (Chinese) MCs and get revenge. No, he is denied of that. Instead, he decides to take revenge on his mu*derer in the happiest way possible.

(S) he decides to become the best little sister ever.

This is a super fluffy comedy novel featuring a brocon imouto and a siscon nii-san.

Edit: The novel gets... more>> even more interesting after chapter 30. <<less

A very light and funny novel. I feel like there is no overall plot and more of a slice of life kind.

But good in my opinion.

TLDR: Sorry I read 53 chapters.

Translation: 4/5

Plot: 3/5

... more>> Characters: 1/5

World building 1/5

Clarity of Writing 1/5

It should have been a really interesting story, but it wasn't.

Problems? The translation starts poorly which makes it hard to get interested. It improves but the damage is there. Toss in the fact the writing style makes it damn near impossible to tell who is speaking or doing what and it makes it really difficult to follow the story.

The plot at this point is really annoying, and it looks like it is not going to get any better for at least a couple hundred chapters.

The world building is practically non existent so far. It's just 21st century Japan with reincarnation <<less

I got to chapter 3 and dropped it.

As I read the description, I was hoping he would be born anew as a little sister to his sister.

I felt the plot would've made the story more diverse and interesting that way. After he's reincarnated as sister the story could literally end because the whole first part would've not had any impact as he probably just ends up acting like a decent sister.

(I could be wrong and more be involved with the mu*der and the story but I doubt it considering... more>> there's no mystery or sci-fi tags.)

Also, if it takes longer to load the f*cking translation page than to read a chapter, what's the point. Like group the chapters, it takes 1min max to read them but I have to load 3 separate pages to read it and they take 5 minutes each to load because adds.

Haha, what a joke.

I rated this 3 stars because I'm being negative and biased, with little knowledge of the story... <<less

I'm sorry for writing ahead of the translation. I just can't help myself.

I love this story so much. It's just pure fluff.

Also, this is my first time writing a review, so sorry in advance if it's incomprehensible.

Story: 5/5

There isn't much to talk about. It's just a fluffy slice of life. It's not a "perpetual one year" and time does progress, and I really appreciate that.

The pacing is great. Nothing feels like it's taking too much time.

Everything feels like it's contributing to something.

Spoiler

There are some mystery and sci-fi elements sprinkled here and there, but there isn't any heavy drama. Misdirections are resolved within 2 chapters.

There was a time skip in the middle, but it did not feel rushed. It just feels like the author has written everything they wanted to for that time frame.

There is also normal romance, and I absolutely love how it played out.

The build-up feels natural. It's just a no-nonsense romance. No drama, no misunderstanding, no nothing.

There are some usual gender-swapped shenanigans, but they don't feel weird at all. They are not emphasized and are written like every other scene.

[collapse]

Character: 5/5

I can't speak for the translation, but every character is memorable, loveable, and very easy to root for.

Spoiler

Naru is a kind-hearted and indecisive bro-con.

Yuna is prone to bad-mouthing but is very considerate of her friends.

Tsubomi is a cheery prodigy girl who keeps making futuristic inventions and is bad at reading the room.

etc. Etc.

[collapse]

While this is probably difficult to convey in a translation, how every character speaks is quite distinct.

Just from the dialogue, you can tell exactly who was speaking.

World Building: 4/5

The setting is presumably modern-day Japan in the city area.

Spoiler

The world our protagonist is in is actually a parallel world, not the past.

The old world still exists and is still indirectly affecting the current world.

The rules of the parallel world, time travel, and changing the past, are also properly established.

The premise is interesting, but the author just doesn't do anything with it. Not to mention the most important part of a reincarnation (especially TS) which is the adjustment period is completely omitted.

There's nothing relevant beyond the synopsis at the beginning and then it just skips 13 years.

There's almost no plot (even by the standards of slice of life), the characters aren't interesting and lack the intensity required to keep a story like this moving, and the dialogue is mediocre.

It's just a story of a diligent little sister with masculine... more>> sensibilities (but without being a tomboy) looking for a bride for her brother and a brother who has become somewhat lazy and spoilt but who is overly protective / possessive of his little sister towards other boys.

With the added frustration of needing to find archived pages because a bunch of the links just don't work anymore, it's not worth the time and effort for me to keep reading this. <<less
