This is trully one of my favorites. Mainly because she doesn't depends on a system to travel nor needs to complete missions.

She does guarantee a good next incarnation and try to fulfill the OGs last wish... as long as it aligns with her views.

With that she lives each life as her own, not like an agent fulfilling wishes. She does things because she really is interested in them.

Many dislike it for how OP she is or because she doesn't act a "proper" sweet romance with the MLs... and for that..... more>> you guys need to remember that she's an old hag... she's like 1k yo or more... and wasn't exactly a virg*n in her 1st life... it would be weird if her spiritual strength and mind couldn't cope with modern times and adapt easily.. and even weirder if she invested 200% of herself in relationships while acting like a pure maiden... that would make no sense at all... xD and can you imagine the pain of losing loved ones again and again without the "help" of a system to cope? Is not that she doesn't love them, but she is more aware than anybody that their relationship is not as eternal as she is.

All in all is better than many qts out there... and again... her focus is living her life... vengeance is a byproduct of those people provoking her... xD

Btw... I'm shocked that in the 300s chap arc I got the ML wrong... xD that's a first for me and I like it... <<less

I actually enjoyed the first arc. Though I can see why ppl might find it a bit lackluster.

FL is great; she's the supreme boss lady who can do everything and anything to the point she almost has no weakness or character flaw (too Mary Sue). But as a person who loves strong FLs, I didn't find a big fault with it. I actually liked how forward she was with ML (It's a refreshing break from peachy FLs being ravaged by overbearing MLs - the roles have reversed in this one... more>> lol)

The ending was terribly rushed - I thought if they just stretched the 1st arc a bit more and give it a proper send off, it would be better. But I guess the whole point of this story is QT, so the arcs need to be short and concise. (Still disappointed, but I had fun reading it.) <<less

TLDR: 5 stars but be warned the arcs are hit or miss and there's no overarching plot connecting them

Details:

The first thing to understand is that this isn't a novel so much as a collection of novellas with a common main character. The quality is on the overall very good but with a few misses. The misses don't matter because you can just skip them, hell you can pretty much read the arcs in any order you want. Except for very minor power growth issues it just doesn't matter.

Bottom line; A... more>> very good read. If you want a good sample try the Black Lotus arc. <<less

Its a good story. Ebery arc has its own twist but it somehow made me feel like she was just toying around every ML feelings. I know she already set expectations before they started but gees, it wasn't their fault and they dont know that she was a transmigrated character who would leave and she most leave at the end of her lifetime, so why make things difficult for the ML and I find it unfair for them like, not having kids, or not even getting married. Thats a Whole... more>> lifetime, why cant u just both enjoy. She already face slapped the FL and s*um ml

I feel sorry for Zhou Yichen the most... they stayed together till 80 not married, no kids

The next ML Li Bohan loved her deeply, they didnt even shared a single night

I feel like, she didnt feel attached to anyone and treat each arc as a plain task <<less

I mtl this novel. I like the MC, she's very domineering, you don't really see that in a lot of novels. The worlds were interesting and I liked the fact that there weren't really many missions and it was just her living her best life. Most of the "worlds" were based on the entertainment industry (MC wasn't just an actress, she played a lot of different roles ie agent, screenwriter). The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that she didn't really seem to love any of the... more>> MLs and that the MLs seemed more like supporting characters than actual leads, she was fond of them but loved herself the most.

I have already arrived at the last arc and I must say this author really love to have a hanging ending.. Just like their previous work Boss Level Face Slapping.. Seriously I have a love hate relationship with this author.. Their work is really interesting but the ending make me want to choke people.. It's really a pit that I can't get out 😮‍💨

This is a good story, not that "Quick" transmigration one and it may take a thousand chapters to complete all arcs. I'm dying again

It's so great!! I was shocked when I reached the end because I didn't even realize that I'm already at the last chapter. I thought there's still more to read.

She even left the supposed ML because he's a hindrance to her freedom. There's no OTP, but the last chapter kinda gives some hope for the future. It's a cliffhanger.

There's no OTP for this one. The setting gets repetitive. MC traversed to a 70s something year three times and maybe thrice as well for the entertainment industry. However, the story is not repetitive, just the setting. The characters she takes up just change from rich to poor, but they are also very different and she learns different skills from every world.

Rereading this in November 2024, I had to drop it during the second arc. Instead of 'Retired Villainess, ' a more fitting title would be 'Retired Cultivator.' The translation is so poorly done that I couldn't keep going. The story is set in a contemporary world—the MC is an actress in the entertainment industry—but the characters speak in overly formal and awkwardly highbrow language. For example:

Zhou Ye whistled in awe. "I have never met anyone else like you before. You've certainly widened my perspective of this world. From the looks of it, you certainly seem to have full confidence in your investing abilities. Anyways... future Queen of Investments, would you like to have dinner at the family restaurant in front before going back?"

It's cringeworthy and unnatural, making it impossible to enjoy.

Some arcs were too long for their simple plot but it was good. Of course MC is likeable, I love when MCs keep studying, learning new things is always better than be totally dependant on powers/artifacts. Romance was like a nice touch, just like I read once, love is compromise rather than just a feeling. So staying together finding new things to not get bored of each other seems reasonable for me :)

And the ending was a pleasant surprise. I've read many novels that end with MC staying in... more>> some world, or kind of space office (don't remember lol) and I always thought that it was nonsense... why someone super powerful would stay still if they can just continue doing fun things, going to entertaining places? :u

The only thing is the kids idea, but that world with the little niece was enough n_n <<less

The story arcs are actually quite addicting, especially because I read this after a long time from withholding from QT novel. I was actually quite satisfied and wish for more. I usually prefer 'lucky' protagonist over 'extremely OP' protagonist, but in this novel, I simply like MC, maybe because of her principles, and how she become more OP with every arc. She is initially a demon cultivator, so her means are cruel and she does everything for her own sake and interests. Her relationship/feeling might seem superficial, but looking at... more>> another aspect, she did love and actually stay with her lover till then end, if she has one, and not being with anyone, if she does not adore one. As I said, she just live for herself, doing what she like. After finishing her life in one plane, she move on, with no attachment left for the world. She meet new people in new plane, fall in love, love till old and wrinkle, and move on again. The author did not write the unwillingness-to-part of her lover, so I as a reader can move on with her to new arc and new partner.....

I actually want to rate 4.5 starts, -0.5 because of plot/setting repetitions, and extremely low IQ cannon fodders in almost every arc. However, I did not mind those because I initially read this as a break from other dog-plot novel with hateful villain (and non OP protagonists). <<less

I don't feel like MTLing this, but I did MTL a bit after ch. 14. So far the main reason that keeps the antagonists fueled to get back up like c*ckroaches is the MC's "past 10 years of affection, " "feelings of 10 years", etc., Which is the reason for the mom, and scum, to keep pushing her buttons until she gets mad. I don't know if that justifies what another reviewers said, about s*upid antagonists, but it does make sense. MC is a cultivator, not a system transmigrator, and... more>> has no requirement to follow the host's wishes or not go OOC. She can do whatever she wants. So appearance wise, ofc everyone will think she is the same person they knew. It just makes me sad that MC is achieving the affections (no matter how cheap it is from the scum) that host always wanted. Other QTs sometimes touch this point, sometimes doesn't (like the BL with Lou Ying) but something about this one turns me off.

I won't give a star review just yet because other reviews said it gets better. I'll just wait for chapters to come. <<less

I liked the novel but there is an ML that I liked too much that I remembered his name during the whole story enough that I felt sour whenever I saw MC passing her time like usual. Aside from not being interested an man the world after she showed no emotional attachment to him.

Plsss~ Just give me one Zhou Yichen! He's the best ML in the whole pack of stories I've read up to now!

This story... The concept is good but the execution is lacking. I also like the MC's indifferent, relaxed and op nature.

However, the plot is quite bland, even the MC's feelings with ML only touch my heart a little. So, for that I dropped it, for now I can't read it. But I will bookmark this novel, maybe one day I will be very interested and enjoy reading it.

And if you like a relaxed reading about a career-oriented MC who slaps faces. I recommend it. It's quite good.

But if you are... more>> looking for a sweet romance, I don't recommend it. <<less

The most satisfying face slapping novel I read. Yes the love story not the focus of the novel. That why I love it. Every time I read a novel, the face slapping only 1/3 of the novel the other 2/3 how the FL and ML enjoy the moment of their love. Excuse me I want the face slapping more. Who care how they dating how they blablabla. Just give the face slapping, a little bit love story, married and end. That's all.

Maybe you all think Chu Xiang not completely in... more>> love with all her spouse. Come on she is immortal ok that's what immortal should be. Free from any complicated feeling on life. Just enjoy the love everyone give. If she to involve with the love from one of her spouse, when she transmigrate to the next world, she will always remember him and her spouse in the next world will be miserable. Because she just enjoying it so she can give all her attention and commitment to every her spouse.

While I do find it as a decent read and good book to spend your time, there is a lot of problem I've had towards this novel but still it's just my personal opinion. Also I do still giving it 4 stars as I do find this story as a good read. HOWEVER.....

The arc plot is boring. The way in every world the author made the OG FL and OG ML character to be Soo bad to the point it doesn't even worth to be called villain is annoying. Idk... more>> is this kind of flow made to make "the perfect MC" stand out or just to make the story more simpler but it's definitely not on my taste at all.

the set is always the same. With MC is a former lover of OG ML that want to get revenge with the OG ML and OG FL and destroy them to ashes. Ive read some of the side character transmigration kind of plot and there is quite novel that make each of different plot and situation with the side character, not only the lover set but also the simple one as a family focus or ECT. But this one, I give up on the arch 3.

The omnipotent MC and real ML. The way it always written how the MC seems like have no flaw and no struggle on facing every problem kinda make me as the reader feel detached towards her character. I can't sympathize nor related at all with her, and with Real ML character always written as someone who is much better neither in brain nor power over the OG ML is also chocked me up. Author want it so bad to degrade on the former stories to make their stories perfect, what an absolute mind-blowing mindset.

The author way of writing. I'm not very much knowledgeable on this but at least I know that one of he reasons I'm not too attached with this story is how the author writing it down on the paper. I don't know if it's the effects of being translated but I've read many machine translation story and still feel good if the writing is good, so my hunch on this case is absolutely on the writing side. Though I can't explain it properly 😅

Good point, you'll feel satisfied on every arc as the MC always have numerous hidden talents to face the enemy with grand tac tic. So yeah aside for the love focus story with no love in MC, it's always an absolute win since the get go. <<less

Bit as good as authors other works IMO. I think my main gripe is we don't know what the deal is with ML when she uses this method of world hopping.

Arc 1 - a solid 4, like her parents in this one.

Arc 2 - I'd say it's a 3, doubt I'd read it again, dragged a bit and she was kind of indifferent to ML

To be honest, the first arc was shit.

however, things get better!! Judging from the author's other works too, it seems that her quick transmission stories start off slow before taking off into the sky, which is good too because at least most of the story is good (as in not cliche). The novel explores tons of identities and time periods, the only one it didn't was the FUTURE. Like geeeeez why does no author every do futuristic quick transmissions :<

Good novel. But because I'm not really fond of overly s*upid antagonist and how every misfortune happen because of a man (not every arc tho), I just skipped until the last three chapters to read. The last three chapters is where every remorse feeling of the s*um male character will written ?

I really want to know if the last ML-Xiao something will meet MC or he will just continue to doing task with his new binded system and will have nothing to do with MC after that.
