In the previous life, Tang Mian and his nemesis Fu Shizhao fought their whole lives, from their student days of constant conflict to later battles in the business world. Within the circles of Beijing, everyone knew that when these two collided, sparks would fly.

Then, a car accident sent Tang Mian back to his childhood.

He was still the young master of the Tang family. Despite his delicate and handsome appearance, he had a natural hearing impairment in his right ear, requiring the use of hearing aids for daily life. He was the darling of the whole family.

Staring at the little Fu Shizhao in the crib looking back at him, Tang Mian directly snatched the milk bottle from his hand and chugged it down.

At this moment, Fu Shizhao had not yet been recognized by the Fu family and was still the little child of the Tang family’s driver. He was the childhood playmate of young master Tang Mian. At this time, the Tang family had not yet been framed by malicious individuals, his older brother had not committed su*cide, his father had not been in a car accident, and his mother had not suffered from mental illness.

Truly, the heavens had eyes, granting him a chance to completely overpower Fu Shizhao and change the fate of the Tang family.

-After finishing the milk, Tang Mian directly snatched the little blanket from Fu Shizhao’s body, lifted his little feet, secretly contemplating a plan, and drowsily fell asleep.

The attending nannies —

“The young master really adores little Zhao. He drank up the milk for him knowing he doesn’t like it.”

“Is the young master feeling cold? Let’s raise the temperature in the nursery a bit more.”

“Zhao Zhao seems to really like the young master’s company too, running over to cuddle up with him.”

Snatching the milk bottle and small blanket wasn’t enough. Tang Mian embarked on the long and winding road of “pampering” Fu Shizhao —

Young Tang Mian in kindergarten: “From now on, you’ll be my little follower!”

Elementary school Tang Mian: “Did you buy snacks for me?”

Middle school Tang Mian: “Did you finish your homework? If you did, help me with mine.”

High school Tang Mian: “I can’t get up… Could you bring me breakfast when you pick me up?”

University Tang Mian: “Sign me in for the 8 AM class and join me for weekend gatherings.”

Fu Shizhao, who had been conditioned by these experiences since childhood, obediently accepted it all, making Tang Mian extremely satisfied. Thanks to his interventions, the Tang family flourished, dealing a heavy blow to their adversaries.

Until one day, Tang Mian discovered Fu Shizhao’s diary.

It was filled with entries about him.

“He was so cute when he was little, and he had a pleasant fragrance.”

“I love the way he bosses me around.”

“I signed up for the same program as him, contacted the school, and we’ll be roommates.”

“I want to become his ‘right ear.’”

Tang Mian: …

It's good for a casual read as it doesn't have a lot of depth. Very drama-free with problems resolved quickly. A lot of time skips for the MC and ML to grow up quickly too.

MC and ML had a lot of misunderstandings in their first life. ML kept secrets and was too stubborn imo to reveal the truth to the MC who had a pretty low EQ and couldn't figure out why the ML did the things he did. ML also acted like a schoolboy pulling on schoolgirl's (aka MC)... more>> pigtails to get their attention which is why they kept "fighting". They died and were reborn together!! This is the best part. However MC thought he was the only one who was reborn. ML allowed MC to "bully" him in this second chance (but he's actually just doting on the MC.) ML is SUPER black-bellied and schemes to get MC's attention on him at all times in this second life. The misunderstandings from the first life gets cleared up and issues they faced in the first life are also resolved. But there isn't an in-depth elaboration nor face-slapping moments. Basically story focuses alot on MC and ML's growing up story. Its like childhood romance vibes with an oblivious MC and a blackbellied ML.

MC totally doesn't match the summary. His personality is more gentle and he treats ML super well. ML often does anything for MC anyway. <<less

4.5. It's sweet, fluff. The author tho didn't really show the revenge part. If that's okay with you and just wanna read some fluff, go with this.

Starting out good but getting boring pretty soon.

MC and ML are cute and the only thing carrying this story. Although I was pretty annoyed that they were not able to speak openly with each other. Always hiding something.

The main story ends after college exam and getting together. The extras are about their life together in college.

I was hoping for a mature love and revenge story but got baby's and kids play. The way they "solved" the major problems of their prior life is kind of strange... not buying it. Basically... more>> kids crying to get rid of the antagonist early. It doesn't feel satisfactory.

I will not read this novel again but if you are looking for cuteness without depth, it might be a novel for you. <<less

The MTL was completely readable and thanks to the translator for introducing this novel . It's very cute, but the main focus was when they were kids, I think about 25 chapters, elementary and middle school didn't take many chapters.

I also feel it's less creepy compared to other novels where one character is 25 years mentally and another is 5 years mentally, here atleast they both were mature, and because they were mature they talked it out and there's also an extra of what if they were never reborn. Almost... more>> no angst and overall sweet. <<less

at 66, leaving review to know where I stopped. A novel of 2nd chance to MC and ml. Their first life got so many conflicts that drifted them apart from each other. Yeah it's very cute they started again as cubs/children and they have a way to overcome their regrets on past life. This helped MC to save his family and ML to make use his rebirth to consolidate his power earlier+ have a peaceful living arrangement. [ For him & MC future if ever they got together officialy]

The novel's... more>> about the MC and ML starting over, adventure up to the time they grow up. At 60+ they are on Highschool arc, ML stilll thinking on how to make MC conscious of him hahah. The story is fluff, healing and hoping for the happy ending different from their past life. <<less

Actually one of the cutest novels I have ever read. While I wouldn't consider this a masterpiece, it's still a very feel-good slice of life. There isn't too much depth to the plot and the "revenge" on MC's family is pretty halfhearted- the main focus of this story is on characters being cute and interacting with each other.

MC and ML both are reborn into their 3 year old selves after dying together in a car crash, and they proceed to act like the most precocious and adorable toddlers ever. Some... more>> may call it cringe for these mentally twenty something year olds to be acting like children, but just imagining these cute little boys in their matching outfits and bibs had me in tears from the cuteness.

Much of this novel depicts the two of them in their preschool years, so the romance is obviously slow building, but I was having a great time regardless. They were so cute as children I really didn't even want them to ever grow up. For once, I wasn't waiting for the time skip to hurry up and happen, and I actually got a bit bored reading after the time skip between elementary and middle school and had to force myself to finish.
Spoiler

The major time skip happens around Chapter 60, and then the revelation of ML also being reborn is around Chapter 84.

[collapse]

ML is a little manipulative and definitely reeks of green tea, but he has overall good intentions and at the end of the day is nothing more than a simp for MC. I did find him keeping the secret of his reincarnation from MC for so long to be a source of anxiety as it progressed though, as he really dragged it on for longer than I would have liked.

I had a hard time really enjoying the chapters between the timeskip and the revelation, just because of how if I were the MC I would personally have felt so betrayed by ML for hiding this secret from me for so long. The MC's reaction was not intense enough in my opinion, and he really let the ML off too easily for lying to him for more than a decade.

Otherwise, there were a few things about this novel that bothered me:

  1. MC's "disability" is literally just hearing loss in ONE ear. He wears a hearing aid in just that one ear, and has full hearing ability in the other ear. I felt sometimes that the author overplayed how big of a disability this really is, as MC clearly does not act in any way deaf, can speak and understand people fine, and therefore doesn't need to learn sign language or experience any stigma of being disabled. Honestly felt like the author wanted to write a disabled character but didn't want to really commit to it. Just my take on it.
  2. ML's old best friend and their now childhood friend Mu Zichen is portrayed as a fat kid who grows up attractive because of weight loss. I just really hate this kind of narrative, and the novel really doesn't address anything dealing with weight stigma for this to have been a necessary plot point.
  3. ML's reasoning for treating MC like sh*t in the last life is not very well explained. I don't buy it that someone would ignore and shun someone that they are supposedly in love with. They were young, but not that young.
  4. After the characters grow up, there really isn't too much driving the plot anymore, and the slice of life gets tedious just waiting for the characters to get together finally. I found the first half of the novel to be much more compelling than the second.
Would recommend the first half as I really did enjoy how it was all about healing one's inner child, and cherishing those moments in life that might otherwise be viewed as mundane, as time passes quickly and childhood freedom only lasts so long. Made me a bit nostalgic for sure! <<less

I haven't finish it up yet but I catch up to the recent last chapter so might as well write a review.

Personally, I think ML is more the MC in the story. I mean, most the MCs in rebirth story have reasons such as regrets, revenge, and changing life course, which is all true for him. I think they have only rebirthed both because it would be weird for them to get together specially if one rebirthed at young age and saw the other grown up and get together with... more>> them, this case is both applicable for MC and ML.

Also, this story amazed me cause it really takes perspective to understand someone's thought. The difference between their perspective with the same incident or scene is quite different. Take for example when MC think that ML only had a bad hand writing and only improve after going to highschool because of academic reason. And when we get to ML's perspective it was actually because of the ink of the pen that he insisted on writing so messy and he improve his hand writing cause MC once hide a ln admirer's love letter solely because of the pretty hand writing.

On the other hand, their friend getting together was actually quite quick. I mean, I expected MC and ML to get together first. But yeah, I think it would be a little bit more complicated with the protagonists. <<less

Very cute for what it was. Not a revenge story btw. Just fluff between two childhood sweethearts who got the chance through rebirth to right the wrongs between them.

I like how petty and clever the ML could be when it comes securing his gege and his gege's attention lol so green tea sometimes. I really love the childhood part because they were so cute as children and even though they were adults in kids' bodies, they still let themselves enjoy being children properly and cherish each other's company 🥹 it... more>> was so cute 💗 <<less

This novel is super duper cute! Up to about 40 chapters is about where they were in kindergarten to elementary school. They’re adults in a little kid’s body. It’s very sweet and cute. I’m glad they had a 2nd chance to change the past.
